90s is our nostalgic era. Nothing will beat it for me.
I have far too many memories attached to it! But tbh, now fi I go back and watch some of the films, the scope for actresses was pretty limited na. Just romantic interest.
With the exception of Tabu, the rest were given only rona dhona kinda roles.
Whereas today, even a Deepiak and Sonam can get a pretty good role, like in Love Aaj Kal, where the woman is strong and independent. Look at Parineetin in Ishakzaade or Anushka in BBB. Or Kangana in Tanu Weds Manu.
Even a Katrina gets a pretty kickass role in Mere Brother Ki Dulhan.
Like the girls are not just second fiddles anymore, you know.
In the 90s, it wasnt like that. Mostly, the men always had the better roles.
Like even people when ti comes to comparing Kareena with past actresses always say that Kareena' shad better opportunities coz of the roles she was offered, wheras Karisma wasnt given such roles.
That said, love the 90s!
