A well-behaved woman seldom makes history!

Do you agree with this quote? Why or why not!

definitely the women who grab the attention these days.. are the ones who do something bad!!!

But very few of us actually know these famous women personally to know how well behaved they are actually!!! (i know PJ but culdnt resist... 😆 😆 )

But I dont agree with this quote... saying that Just because she is well behaved she wont make/seldom make history is wrong!!

Mother Teresa's name is the first one that comes to mind..when i have to give an example here.. 😊

True true !! I partly agree !! 😃 Means i like the quote ............not neccesarily think its true !!

Now "well behaved" is a debatable word too !! What do we mean by well behaved ? What comes within well behaved ?

Does bold make you not well behaved ? Does going against the societal norm not make you un - well behaved ?
Does speaking up against any negative make you un - well behaved ?

Women have made history through politics , through the creative art as writer , painter , dancer , musician !! Are they not well behaved ?They have made history as Scientist !! Will we call them well behaved or other wise ?

I suppose they broke the old 18th Century mold of women must stay at home and have kids! So thats what may make them "not" well behaved !

yes, parna ur right abotu well-behaved. but i read this quote on a bummper sticker of a car. i got general impression from that that well-behaved what they meant are like no rebelling, following rules as a good girl, not too ambitious, not questioning etc. you know the rules that were popular in western countries in 50s during age of baby boomers.

examples like mother terresa, rani of jhansi are few. you would have decent record and are looked as hero in history.

On the contrary, it is only the well behaved woman who makes history. The rest just make news.

Very Well Said😊

The parameter between well behaved and its opposite, is fodder to ones comprehension ability.

What is a eyesore to one could be eye catching to another. We spend a whole lifetime enjoying various benefits and not appreciate their value until we are deprived of them.

The newsmakers of today will become history, tomorrow.

I rest my case with this quote by Laurel Thatcher Ulrich: "Well behaved women rarely make history".

Sowmyaa, interesting topic.
I dont think there is a rule as to who would make history neither must we gather a rule out the ones that have already made history.
The fact one hasnt made a mark can not be attributed to this lone factor.
Even if in the past not a single well behaved woman made history that does not mean that one wouldnt in the future.

Often what remains documented and is being documented is not complete. Many times heroes and history get fuzzled among words and there isnt a record but these people have made their mark and have achieved a goal. Worthy enough to make the mark but not worthy enough to be written about. They have indeed made history only not the history book-
