IPKKND has indeed come a long way and made huge inroads in the TRP charts and is really a show to reckon with..
But am here to discuss about the character called Shyam..
He first made his appearance, Shallu style, all with that blue saphire stone braclet, bashing baddies to save damsel in distress..
At first the PH and director said that he is a parallel lead, will fall in love with Kushi, but seeing her not reciprocating his love, but instead fallen for ASR, will stand back and give way and support Kushi all through..He will take his disappointments easily and move on in life..
Then Abhas, aka Shyam said that his character is an important one and will have grey shades, but not be a completely negative one and definitely not a womaniser..
After it was revealed that Shyam was indeed Anjali's husband, the PH and the director still said that Shyam has a past that is linked to Kushi, and that he will not compete with ASR for her..
Now slowly Shyam has degenerated into a slime, a snake( pardon me for using strong words, but thats how he has been portrayed so far) who has turned a psycho, a womaniser, a mentally sick person, who craves for another , when much married..Now he has even stopped so low in not hesitating to murder Sashi for his goal..His tendency for polygamy and misplced love dosent get explained well..Where is the propency for this kind of behaviour from him?? What is the reason for marrying Anjali in the first place??
Okay in the coming epis probably his characterisation will get fully reasoned and all unanswered questions attended to..But then his character has been steadily degraded and evolved into a psycho, who thinks nothing short of murder for his gain, too..One good thing though, has inadvertantly helped Arhi come closer and realise about their love..
There was lot of potential for this Shyam character and the CVs could have made it positive and given lot of weightage and mayhap even made it interesting with a strong link to Arhi's past..Forever they could have kept us guessing whether he was a long lost bro of Kushi or having thoughts otherwise..
But in all this systematic degradation kudos to Abhas for portraying Shayam so well, that most of the times we ended up hating him..

Maris very nice post!! Abhas is one of the finest actors in the show if the one of the best!! Much as I don't like Anjali's characterisation as she bores me to death, I would hate someone hurting her and that too her own husband...
I would have liked to seen Shyam playing Khushi's elder brother like...becoming very possessive about the two girls under his guidance in the new city...maybe a self appointed guardian...it would have been also fine if he would not have divulged his family details as he is a 'ghar jamai' maybe not very proud of it or lets say wants to prove to himself that he can do something on his own too without the support of his superlative BIL...Now comes the twist..Khushi falls for Arnav and knowing Arnav Shyam is torn into two, somehow he does not want to expose Khushi to Arnav's temper, wants to protect like a brother...Anjali is upset why was she not told about the girls under his care etc etc...
Maris, I fail to understand why do we have to show bad things, a twist can also be nice, maybe a little misunderstanding happens but then everything is solved at the end...we could have seen Arnav coming to his BIL to ask for Khushi's hand maybe...as it is in this world there are too many negetive things, is murdering a person so easy? I mean I am hating serials when they are showing too much of negetive track for days together...Your thoughts...Love Tin

But am here to discuss about the character called Shyam..

thanks for the thread, i hate shyam but i have to give it to the CVs for creating him,
he is convincinly cunning 😡 The main stuff in IPKKND the character has defined set of
box that they can play with not just a tag line, arhi are lead so they have different facets but
strong specs, but including om prakas and jai prakash they play around within this box.
we write about the maids of the show means a lot about the show 😆
i guess even om prakash will come to know that arhi are in love but not arhi 🤣

He first made his appearance, Shallu style, all with that blue saphire stone braclet, bashing baddies to save damsel in distress..
At first the PH and director said that he is a parallel lead, will fall in love with Kushi, but seeing her not reciprocating his love, but instead fallen for ASR, will stand back and give way and support Kushi all through..He will take his disappointments easily and move on in life..

haha he is parallel lead because i guess they will one day concentrate on anjali too. no doubt
but what surprises me that how nealtly they made in entry into the show yeah filmy istyle 😆
abhas a very good actor👏 takes the shyam to next level of hating i never believed PH director 😆😕 but how will they get arhi married will arnav hate kushi for shyam ? if yes then who will come to know about shyam's connness ? will he continue to stay at RM ?
i just hope coming days will give answers to some questions. i did have a hope of shyam being long lost brother of kushi which i have lost i am willing to see him only on condition that he will be the reason to bring arhi together and tighten their bond 😳

Then Abhas, aka Shyam said that his character is an important one and will have grey shades, but not be a completely negative one and definitely not a womaniser..

😆😕 he is not womaniser but a pshyco he did not say anyhting about that na 😉
After it was revealed that Shyam was indeed Anjali's husband, the PH and the director still said that Shyam has a past that is linked to Kushi, and that he will not compete with ASR for her..

yeah may be shyam past is linked to kushi but when will they show 🤔 under what cirucmstances shyam married anjali

What is the reason for marrying Anjali in the first place??

hmm you have the same question. its upto CVs how and when they will give answers.
CVs sometime are very careless about answering some things, example nainital trip
what will happen to it now 😕 thats why sometime i feel that they waste epi on arhi
for TRP game. i know many people may not agree and through chappal and tomatoes at me.
But i feel this team has good people both in creative team and in actor set
actors never spoil a scene instaead take it to next level arhi have screen burning chemistry
they should take advantage of and make a good show
.
oh let me tell you i have no complaint with arhi overdose. even if they run show for 1 hour
1/2an hour arhi and other 1/2 an hour of answering other questions

Okay in the coming epis probably his characterisation will get fully reasoned and all unanswered questions attended to..But then his character has been steadily degraded and evolved into a psycho, who thinks nothing short of murder for his gain, too..One good thing though, has inadvertantly helped Arhi come closer and realise about their love..

hehe exactly 😆
There was lot of potential for this Shyam character and the CVs could have made it positive and given lot of weightage and mayhap even made it interesting with a strong link to Arhi's past..Forever they could have kept us guessing whether he was a long lost bro of Kushi or having thoughts otherwise..

i am fine with CVs making shyam -ve it is need, else coming episode arnav would have become villain of the show and thats not possible 😆 what i do not agree is not answered questions
But in all this systematic degradation kudos to Abhas for portraying Shayam so well, that most of the times we ended up hating him..

haha systematic, CVs have been very good with this whether its kushi or arnav or maami or om prakash they have a buildup plan a excellent one. i have never enjoyed a show like this
it has a huge potential hope CVS and SP do a collective effort to change the TV scenario and not just a TRP game.
Cant they do a show just so that it will be remembered even after 10 years not for long run show but for the tightness and pace and story and acting in the show

thanks dear i am done with my ran 😆

Maris - a good analysis of SHyam👍🏼
My take
I was never interested in Shyam . May be my loyalty to Barun stops me from getting interested to any male character parallel to him . (Remember what happened in BHPH forum , a warfare between me and KW fans 😆)
Instead of making him a psycho , they could have woven a mystery behind him somehting to do with past. His evilness is not justfied., neither is his urge to marry Khusi and how he plans manage two households and two wives.
And unlike others I do not like Abbas's acting . He is too OTT for me . I do not like those eye rolling and lip curving expressions .
And to make Arnav possessive and jealous - a viscous and elaborate characterization like Shyam is not needed, any street urchin calling khusi names would have served the purpose .😉

HEy wow a nice take and my thoughts exactly and i don't understand the logic behid going after Khushi like an absession why only her...and if yes its baout love what was it with Anjali...
Why not payal or any x, y and Z for that matter...I feel that other character who were villianous made more sense for example Ritesh from Tere liye...etc...I just could hater Ritesh but as for Shyam he is creepy and 🤢
purely my pov

Maris, your analysis of Shyam is really good - I totally agree with you - Now I am starting to think that if Abbas is saying that his character was not intended to be so grey or whatever and he was not meant to be shown as a womanizer, what if he's like that in real life ? 😕

Jayati a wonderfully whistful thinking. A potentially lot of scope for the Shyam character to bring out his torn feelings and somehow link these two girls in his long lost past..
But still reading your line of thought hope the Cvs bring about a twist..

Somehow most shows fall into line of showing bad things and stretching it beyond belief and our patience and finally after years of trying and testing times the good seems to win over the bad..Also the fact to attempt a murder is so easy and shown with such an elan only in serials..When will this trend change, GOD only knows...NO no even he is at the mercy of these Cvs, Ph and directors, as his presence is required only when called for..😆😆

Iwfw, I think your name is Asha right.. good to see your rant. Go ahead and feel free to do so.

This is what we as viewers always hope and wish and look forward to. But sit in front of the idiot box and all these mindless TRPs and dances these shows do for gaining the maximum of it happens..
Serials are ruled by those ratings and channels are ultimate masters to chop and snip whenever and whatever show that pleases them. The puppets like actors, directors and technicians go by the PH and have no say in matter beyond their realms.. End of the day its us , the loyal vieweres who love our actors and stick by them and follow their shows ardently, only to be rudely jolted when the whole show gets mercilessly scrapped off for want of TRPs..

Hey Maris 🤗 i love your analysis here ! 👏
i agree with you they could have made this character a positive one ! would have bring some interesting points of Arhi's past !
but now his character is totally negative !
i was predecting something like that ( even many viewers also ) but abhaas and creatives kept saying no his character is not like that ! he is not a womanizer ! but he is. i dont know why they did it
