Need a more professional format to console kids

I have been watching this seasons episodes and often find the hosts way of consoling children a little too personal. By this I mean hugging the kids...I know all he trying to do is make them happy but that can be done without touching the kids...I am a mother of a 3 yr old kid and would have found it so odd if this happened. There must be a more professional format of consoling kids by the host without touching kids...I am sorry if my post upsets the hosts fans. I do like him. Its just the format he is following by Zee that makes me uncomfortable.

Ramyasubbu, I understand what you are saying - but that happens in western world. I know in western world you can not hug children - but in India I think it's normal. Now I can understand Jay hugging a 13 year old girl - it would Not okay - because they are in their teens...but Barnali being 11 and Rimsha being 10 - they are still young.

I am not sure if you feel Jai should not be hugging Azmaat, Salman etc...but I think there's nothing wrong with that, now had Salman been a girl, i would have said - yep he should not hug, or even if Nitin was girl, I think jai himself would have not hugged him.

Jai is excellent with the kids and has always been entirely appropriate with all of them.

People who have a problem with a hug for kids need to get their own dirty thinking out of their minds.

Zaabemard..I think you are personally attacking my feeling uncomfortable with this. It is highly rude on your part to even suggest I am thinking dirty. Please watch your words. I admire the way Purffect has put forth her view in a respectable and non bashing way to me. Here I don't want u to agree with what I have said. But u can disagree in a civil way. I have also not put forth my topic in a bashing way. I have never seen any Sa re ga ma host get this personal. As a mother I am not comfortable. Zee tv can totally choose to ignore my point or think abt it.

Really?! That has never occurred to me 😕 In fact, I think Jay Soni's hugging, comes across as warm. Please do take into consideration, that in a competition where kids invovled, a person like Jay Soni really does keep the atmosphere light, cheery and funny. He is the one that the kids would look upto, when hearing from judges who give constructive criticism and judge them. Everyone refers to Jay as 'bhaiyya.' If the guy decided to act aloof, that would be insensitive. The kids look to Jay as the ice breaker in situations where negative points are conveyed. Hope you understand my POV.

Yep Neets-ltl...I totally understand your point of view and appreciate it :) I never once am suggesting that Jay has a bad intention here. I guess living in this country and having a kid keeps me on my edge. Particularly when here we have to think 10 times before even hugging a strangers kid.

Hey, that's not nice. He is entitled to voice his concern. I don't think he has a dirty mind for voicing this.

I work with kids, so I know here at my work we can't hug kids, infact we have to ask their permission before hugging them.

As I said, in Western world - things are different, may be in India it's okay, but in western world it's not. Jai is not a stranger, so I think it's perfectly fine if he hugs children, now I would not want any random person to come hug my child.

Just to point out...at my work, when a child is in distress or upset, we are asked to ask the child's permission before hugging...most of the time we say "would a hug help you?" or "Do you need a hug"... sorry, but sadly that's the reality these days.
