"Taani?" Laboni called
"Jee Maa?" Taani called back
"Aao to!"
"Aayi" she repliedand Taani walked out of the kitchen with a tray of drinks for the rest of the guests.
"Mujhe yakin bhi nahin horaha hai Di ke hamari Mauli ki godhbharaai hai" Neelu gushed touching a coy Mauli's cheek. Laboni smiled too.
"Haan" Shimona spoke "bas, agar Jonaki hoti to aur acha bantha" she sniped at Taani who was stood in front of her, offering her a drink.
The atmosphere had turned tense. "Shimona" Neelu spoke "Robbie aur Jonaki ne khud US jaane ka faisla li" she said "tum puraani baaten ko kyun laarahi ho? Aaj tumhaari beti ki godbharaai hai" she smiled and turned to Taani as she approached Neelu with the tray.
"Jee Di" Shimona said quietly
"Taani?"
"Jee maa?" she said and Neelu took the tray from Taani. "maa.."
"Aaj tu kuch kareghi apni bhabhi ki godbjarai ke loye"
"Lekin Maa, main..."
"Tujhe kuch na kuch karna hi hoga. Yeh teri saas ki hukum hai, kyun Di?" Neelu chuckled as Taani turned to her.
"Maa.." she complained
"Ab teri saas ke aage main kya boloon?" she asked "ab chal. Jaldi se kuch dikha" she said and Taani turned to Mauli as a last resort.
"Ab isko mat dekh! Yeh kuch nahin boleghi!"
"Ab tu itna kyun sharmaarahi hai?" Neelu asked "Onu thodi na hai yahaan" she teased and everyone joined in, makong Taani chuckle.
"Chal" she said and someone put a CD on as Taani stood in the middle, rearranging her sari as the music begun.

Taani turned to the window and her eyes widened when she spotted a familiar face grinning back at her. She turned away to avoid suspicion but her eyes kept wandering back to the window casually to see Onu stood there, leaning his elbow on the window, watching her.

Taani turned back to the party and started to help people up to dance with her as she saw Onu sneak into the kitchen when no one was looking.
Taani smiled at ever before ever so casually making her way into the kitchen.
She saw Onu and kept glancing at the door as she spoke. "Onu! Tu yahaan kya kar-raha hai?!" she begged the question. "tujhe pata hai ke kitne log hai yahaan aur..." she trailed off and turned to look at him properly when he didn't speak.
"Kya?" she asked as he stood there, watching her, with a smile on his face. "Onu! Bolegha bhi?!" she asked then heard someone call for her and pushed him gently into the store room.
"Abhi aayi!"
"Acha, jaldi aana" Neelu told her at the kitchen door and she smiled back before watching her mother in law leave.
She turned back to the store room and dragged her husband out of there.
"Taani!"
"Kya hai Onu?" she asked"tu jaldi jaa. Kohi aajayegha!" she told him
"Taani, kohi hamme akela choregha kya?!" he asked "jab bhi dekho, maa, baba, Thakoo Maa, kohi na kohi aata rehta hai. Main apni patni se theek se mil bhi nahin sakta"
"Onu" she put her hand on her hip, smiling at his sulk. "hum baad main milte hai! Main ghar hi to aarahi hoon"
"Ghar aayeghi na, to ghar ka kaam main lagjaayeghi. Pata hai mujhe"
"Onu..." she tried to protest buthe pulled her close to her and their eyes locked as they stood there for a minute or two.

Taani turned to walk off but Onu pulled her back to him.

"Onu, mujhe jaana hai" she said trying to free herself from his grip
"Theek hai. Jaa na phir" he smiled as she smiled back, pushing him away.
Onu watched her as she left the kitchen and joined the others, glancing at him through the window, gesturing for him to leave.
