Wrote this right now. One of my faves 😆

OS

Onu carefully made his way out of his room later that evening and stood at the top of his stairs and saw his mum and grandmother sat in living area, discussing arrangements.

"Ab dekh Neelu, kal ke liye sab tiyaariyan theek se hogayi na?" Thakoo Maa asked
"Haan maa. Maine sab ache se dekhliya hai"
"Chalo acha hai. Kal kohi kami nahin rehni chaahiye" she said as Onu tiptoed down the stairs, hoping to sneak past them to the spare room next to the kitchen, where Taani was sleeping.

"Arre Onu?" Thakoo Maa spotted him as he reached the bottom of the stairs.
"Jee Thakoo Maa?" he smiled sweetly
"Tu itni raat ko neeche kya kar-raha hai?"
"Haan Onu, kuch chaahiye thi kya?" Neelu asked
"Nahin maa, vo..." he paused "paani peena tha, galla saaf karna tha"
"Acha, jaake peele" Neelu said
"Haan, jaldi se paani pee aur jaldi se sojaa, kal ka din bohat bhaari hoga tere liye" Thakoo Maa teased making Neelu stifle a laugh. onu stood there impatiently, just waiting for them to leave so he could take his chance.
"Maa!" Neelu chuckled
"Thakoo Maa aap..." Onu trailed off
"Acha, jaldi jaake pee ah" Thakoo Maa smiled
"Jee" he nodded
"Chale maa?" Neelu suggested "Bohat kaam karni hai subha" she said as Onu made his way towards the kitchen
"Haan, chal" they both got up
"Onu?"
"Jee Maa?" he called back from the hallway
"Jaldi se sohjaana, acha?"
"Jee Maa" he repeated purposefully walking slowly towards the kitchen.

He heard them both make their way upstairs then tiptoed towards the hallway to make sure the coast was clear. He grinned to himself when he saw it was and quickly made his way over to the room where Taani was sleeping.

Onu quietly opened the bedroom door and walked into the dark room. Only the light on the moon was his lantern as it shone on Taani's sleeping face. He smiled to himself before quietly closing the door behind him.

He approached the bed and sat beside her, running his hand over her hair as she slept. She bolted up at once and was about to scream when Onu placed his hand over her mouth. "Taani, main hoon" he whispered
"Onu!" she muffled under his hand.
"Shhhh" he told her looking at the door to make sure there were no intruders then back at Taani before slowly taking his hand off her mouth.

"Onu! Paagal hogaya hai kya??" she whispered "kisine dekha to??"
"Kissine nahin dekha. Sab sohgaye"
"Lekin Onu, tu itni raat ko yahaan kya kar-raha hai?" she complained
"Mujhse raha nahin gaya" he said with a smile
"Onu..." she said trying not to smile.
"Kya hai Taani? Hamari shaadi hochuki hai to mera haq banta hai ke tujhse miloon"
"Lekin Onu... Rasme..."
"Bohat rasme hochuki hai Taani. Ab aur nahin sehsakta" he sulked turning his face away from her.

Taani smiled to herself before putting her arms around his neck. "theek hai. Main kuch nahin boloonghi"
"Sach?" he said turning slightly to look at her.
"Haan" she said and he turned to look at her excitedly
"To chal" he told her
"Kahaan?"
"Batatha hoon. Bas chal" he took her hand and helped her off the bed.
"Lekin Onu..." she whispered putting her slippers on
"Shhhh" he whispered and led her out of the room.

OS 2.

"Onu... kohi aajayegha" she whispered, worried that they'd get caught by someone.
"Shh" he repeated and turned to her as they reached the door to the garden.
"Ab kya hai Onu?" she whispered looking around.
"Aankhen band kar"
"Kya?" she asked, confused
"Maine kaha aankhen band kar. Jaldi"
"Par..."
"Taani!" he warned and she sighed before doing as she was told.
"Ab khush?" she asked and he smiled to himself.
"Haan" he said covering her eyes with his hand and taking her hand in his.

He smiled as he led a confused Taani out to the garden and came to an abrupt stop, causing Taani to stop too.

"Onu?" she said
"Haan" he replied. "ab aankhen khol" he told her taking his hand away from her eyes, stepping back to watch her reaction.

Onu watched as Taani opened her eyes to see the swing was decorated by being adorned with flowers, in front of her.

A smile appeared on her face and then she saw four small candles at each corner of the swing. She turned to see Onu watching her. "yeh sab tune kab kiya?" she asked and he approached her.
"Jab meri maa aur teri saasu maa hamme ek dooosre se milne nahin dehrahe the, tab" he said putting his arms around her waist and rested his forehead on her shoulder, making her smile. "acha laga?"
"Bohat" she said "bohat pyaara hai" she adored it
"Aah" he said leading her to it and sat next to her on the swing.

Onu watched as Taani looked around at the swing.
"Taani?" he said taking her hand in his, causing her to look at him to see him staring at their hands.
"Onu" she said lifting his head to look at her, noticing something was up. "kya baat hai?"
"Main jaantha hoon Taani" he told her "ke tu is din ka kabse intezaar kar-rahi hai" he said "lekin kuch na kuch hamesha beech main aata tha: pehle Nupur phir Ritesh..." he trailed off "jab main jail main tha..." He spoke but Taani immediately put her hand over his mouth and shook her head. They didn't need to talk about that. It was in the past. Onu smiled and took her hand from there, holding on to it.
"Bolne de"
"Onu...yeh sab.."
"Agar main abhi nahin bola Taani, to main nahin bolpaoongha" he said so she stayed silent, waiting for him to continue.

"Jab main jail main tha, main bas yeh soch kar jeeraha tha ke kab main chootjaoon aur kab hamari shaadi ho" he said "bas yahi soch mujhe zinda rakhraha tha" he said "varna main kab ka marchuka hota" he said as Taani's eyes began to water. He smiled softly and wiped them before they could move a distance. "humne bohat kuch saha Taani" he told her "lekin dekh" he told her entwining his hand with hers. "aakhir main tu meri patni bangayi na?" he said, making her smile as she nodded. "main tujhse bohat pyaar karta hoon Taani" he told her honestly. She had been waiting to hear him say that for days. "bohat pyaar karta hoon" he repeated lifting her hand to kiss it gently.

He caressed her cheek with his thumb, staring into her eyes as she tried to skirt glances, smiling. He put his arm around her and pulled her close so she rested her head on his chest.

He pulled back slightly to look at her and she looked up at him. "Onu..." she guessed what he was thinking.
"Mm?"
"Ek aur raat?" she suggested and he sighed, resting his forehead on hers. "mere liye?"
"Theek hai" he told her as their eyes met "sirf tere liye" he said and they exchanged smiles before he put his arm around her again, pulling her close to him.

"Chal" Taani said a few minutes later, getting up and helping Onu up. "is se pehle ke kohi aaye, hum dono apne apne kamre main chalejaathe hai"
"Chal" he agreed and they walked back in, hand in hand until they reached the stairs and Taani turned to him.

"Subha milte hai" she said and he nodded "goodnight"
"Nighty night" he said making a face and she giggled before letting go of his hand and began to walk off. "Taani!" he whispered and she turned to look at him
"Kya?" she whispered
"Kuch nahin" he smiled, teasing her and she pretended to glare at him with a smile on her face before walking off to her room, glancing at him before closing the door behind her.

Onu smiled to himself before making his way upto his room to sleep.

OS 3.

Onu made his way downstairs the next morning to see everyone was busy with preparations for the function so he scanned the room for someone.

"Kuhu?" he whispered when he saw his niece sat at the breakfast table. She turned to see him and he beckoned for her to come over.

She ran over and he picked her up in his arms: "Kuhu?"
"Haan?"
"Vo..." he trailed off "teri maami kahaan pe hai?"
"Kaun? Taani Maami?"
"Haan, Taani maami"
"Vo to kitchen main hai"
"Acha?"
"Haan"
"Teri naani bhi saath hai kya?" he asked innocently
"Nahin to. Akeli hai"
"Acha?" he grinned and she nodded
"Lekin aap kyun poochrahe hai?" she asked
"Hmm? Nahin, kuch nahin, vaise poochraha tha" he said putting her down. "main tujhe baad main chocolates doongha, acha?" he said and she nodded as he put her down, watching her as sheskipped off to the garden.

Onu walked towards the kitchen carefully and stood at the door, watching Taani working hard. He walked in and took her waist.

"Onu!" she whispered
"Kya?" he whispered back
"Chor mujhe!" she told him and turned to face him.
"Kyun?"
"Yahaan kya kar-raha hai? Kohi bhi aasakta hai!" she looked behind him to make sure no one was there.
"Toh? Main dartha hoon kya?" he asked, moving closer but she pushed him back.
"Onu, yahaan se baag, abhi! Issi waqt"
"Lekin..."
"Onu, mehmaan aane vaale honge aur mujhe yeh sab karke phir tiyaar bhi hona hai" she informed him
"Par..."
"Onu!"
"Acha! Jaatha hoon" he sulked
"Jaldi jaa!" she told him

"Ruk" he stopped and she looked up
"Kya?"
"Tere gaal pe kuch laga hai"
"Kya?" she asked him, confused
"Kuch laga hai!" he pointed to her cheek
"Dekh, main phir se teri baaton main aane vaali nahin hoon!" she told him
"Main sach bolraha hoon Taani!" he told her
"Acha?" she asked, believing him as she felt around her face for something "kahaan?" she asked
"Yahaan" he pointed to her cheek and kissed it before running off, grinning.
"Onu!" she exclaimed as he gave her a smile at the door then ran off, making her smile to herself and shook her head before continuing with the tradition.

Onu made his way downstairs after he got changed into his brand new suit. "Yeh lo, aagaya Onu" Thakoo Maa smiled as Onu looked up and saw Taani stood next to her: she looked beautiful. She was wearing a light blue sari, looking away as Thakoo Maa followed his gaze to her, smiling.

"Maa?" Onu made his way over to Laboni who smiled.
"Bohat pyara lagraha hai tu baba" she said and Onu smiled as he put his arm around Laboni.

"Main abhi aaya maa"
"Acha" she smiled, understanding as he made his way over to Thakoo Maa, his mother and Taani.

Taani met his gaze and tried to supress a smile as Kuhu came rushing over to him. "mamaa?" she said, trying to get his attention.
"Haan?" he said, distracted by Taani
"Meri chocolates kahaan hai?" she asked
"Chocolates?" Thakoo Maa asked
"Tu issi kyun chocolates degha?" Neelu asked suspectingly.
"Kyunke..." Kuhu was about to speak
"Kyunke maine Kuhu se promise kiya" he interrupted his niece before she could let out his secret. He took out the bar of chocolate before handing it to his elated niece. "yeh le" he said
"Thank yoou" she ran off to play.

Onu looked up at Taani and walked over to casually stand next to her but when he was about to speak, he was interrupted.
"Taani?" Laboni called
"Jee maa, aayi" she said walking off, smiling to herself.

Thakoo Maa gestured to Neelu to look at Onu and they both smiled as they saw him watching Taani.
"Sundhar lagrahi hai na?" Thakoo Maa
"Haan, bohat" he said, unable to take his eyes away from his new bride.

"Acha?!" she laughed and Onu turned to see his mother and grandmother grinning at him.
"Errrr, Thakoo Maa, main aapke baare main baat kar-raha tha!" he tried to cover himself.
"Ohhh, acha? Mere baare main bolraha tha?" she teased "main to sochrahi thi ke tu apni biwi ke baare main bolraha tha" she teased as Onu looked away.

"Maa?" Shekhar called
"Aayi" she laughed and walked off.

"Khush hai na?" a voice said and Onu turned to see his mother stood there
"Haan maa" he took her hand "bohat khush hoon" he smiled and she touched her son's cheek. "kisi ki nazar na lage mere bachon par" she smiled and he smiled back before she walked off.

Onu leant on a pillar and watched as Taani was engrossed in a conversation with Laboni. She saw him stood there, watching her and gestured to ask him what was up but he shook his head, smiling, meaning that nothing was up, making her smile coyly as she looked away, but gave him glances here and there.

Kohi Bhi Aisa,

Neelu said something to Taani and she nodded before walking off. "Onu?" his mother called before he could follow Taani. He sighed quietly before walking up to Neelu.

"Jee maa?"
"Taani abhi kuch khaane ke liye leke aanewaali hai. Pehle tu chakle, phir him sab khaayenghe, acha?"
"Theek hai maa" he nodded
"Aagayi Taani" Laboni smiled and everyone turned to watch her walk in with a tray, including Onu.

She approached them and put the tray on the table.

"Chal, Taani, pehle Onu ko deh. Vo sabse pehle kaayegha" Neelu told her and Taani smiled and nodded at her before putting some in for Onu.
"Yeh le" Neelu said to Onu, gesturing for him to take the bowl that Taani was offering.He took the bowl from Taani as she met his gaze.

"Kaisa hai?" Thakoo Maa teased. Onu watched Taani as he ate it.
"Bohat acha" he turned to Thakoo Maa
"Vo to hona hi tha, teri biwi ne jo itni pyaar se banaya hai" she smiled and everyone smiled.
"Chalo, ab sab khaana shuru karo" Shekhar announced smiled as everyone began to sit on the floor.

"Onu, tu yahaan bayt" Neelu gestured to an empty space. "Taani, tu bhi bayt, subha se kuch nahin khaayi tune" she said.
"Lekin Maa..."
"Lekin kuch nahin, bayt" she told her and Taani sat down with Onu.

"Onu, vo dish dena" Taani said as Onu was too busy watching her. "Onu!" she whispered and he snapped back to reality
"Haan, yeh le" he said giving her the dish, making her smile.

"Onu, Taani?" Thakoo Maa said and they both looked up to see her sat opposite them as Laboni and Neelu served. "ek hi thaali main se khaan. Aise pyaar bartha hai" she smiled
"Jee Thakoo Maa" Onu smiled."Suna?" Onu told Taani quietly
"Haan, maine suna" she smiled to herself. She looked up at him and they locked eyes.

"Jee maa?" he looked up at her

"Nahin maa" he said and turned to Taani who was smiling to herself as she began to eat.

OS 4.

Later that evening, the family members were sat in the living area. Onu kept gesturing to Taani for them to leave but Taani kept shaking her head and telling him no.

"Ab tum dono ne honeymoon ki planning ki hai ya nahin?"
"Haan Thakoo Maa, humne ki hai" he said giving Taani a look
"Acha? Kahaan?"
"Tirupati, Kaashi, Shedi"
"Sach?"
"Haan"
"Yeh Taani ki idea hogi na?"
"Haan"
"Lekin tu to kehraha tha ke tumne nahin jaana hai. Ti maine socha ke kahin aur jaarahe hai"
"Kya?!" he exclaimed "chalo, main subha tickets cancel karke kahin aur ka book kardoongha" he said, satisfied

"Chalo, bohat dehr hogayi hai" Laboni got up "Ab main chalti hoon"
"Maa, aap abhi jaarahi hai?" Onu got up, asking casually.
"Haan baba, subha dukaan pe bhi jaana hai na?"
"Acha, main aapko darvaaza tak chorsoon?" he offered, a tad over-eager
"Nahin, main chalijaoonghi" she smiled sweetly. "tu aur Taani jaake aaraam kar haan?"
"Theek hai maa" he nodded obediently

"Taani?"
"Haan?"
"Tu mujhse milne ke baghair mat jaana"
"Nahin maa" she smiled as they hugged "main aapse milkar hi jaoonghi"
"Theek hai baba" she said and they all watched her leave.

"Chalo, ab hum sab bhi sone ke liye chalte hain" Neelu began to get up as Pnu looked at Taani, gleefully.

"Onu Taani, tum dono apne kamre main chalejao, hum saaf safayi karke sohjaayenge"
"Acha, chal Taani" he said, turning to leave
"Nahin maa" she said and Onu turned to face her. "main aapki thodi maddat karke sohjaati hai"
"Lekin Taani..."
"Please Maa?" she pleaded and Neelu smiled, nodding as Onu glared at Taani.

"Tu main chalta hoon, sone ke liye"
"Haan, haan, tu jaa" Neelu said as she and Taani began to clean up. "goodnight" Neelu said as Onu gave Taani a look
"Jaldi aana" he mouthed at her before walking upstairs in a sulk, making Taani smile.

Taani helped Neelu with the rest of the tidying before making her way upto the room.

"Aagayi?" he asked sarcastically as he lay back on the bed
"Ab tujhe kya hogaya hai?" she asked
"Mujhe kya hua?!" he asked
"Haan, vohi to poocha maina, kya hua?"
"Taani.."
"Hmm?"
"Rasm ke hisaab se hum dono ko saath main kamre main aana chaahiye"
"Haan, pata hai, lekin..."
"Lekin tujhe kaam se fursaat mileghi, tab na!" he sulked, making her smile.
"Phir se rootna manaana shuru karn paregha kya?" she asked, folding her arms.
"Haan! To!" he made a face before turning away.
"Onu..." she said sitting on the bed with him. "main Neelu maa ko akeli kaam to nahin karne dehsakti na? Kaise lagta?" she asked "dekh, hamari shaadi thi to..."
"Haan! Yahi rto main bhi kehraha hoon!" he told her
"Matlab?"
"Matlab ke shaadi hamari, suhaag raat hamara aur tujhe saaf safaayi ki chinta hai!" he said and Taani sighed before getting up
"Ab tujhse is haalat main baat karna fazool hai" she said walking off towards the cupboard.
"Excuse me!" he caught up with her "matlab"
"Matlab dekh! Tu hamesha ki tarah ghussa hota jaaraha hai!"
"Acha" he took a deep breath "ab main ghussa nahin hoon"
"Nahin ho?" she asked and he shook his head
"Nahin"
"Chalo, theek hai" she smiled "ab sojaao, kal jaldi utna hai" she teased him touching his cheek. She was about to walk off when Onu pulled her arm to stop her. She smiled to herself before being pulled towards Onu so that she crashed into him.

She slowly looked up as Onu wrapped his arms around her and their eyes met, making Onu smile as Taani looked away. He leant forward and as he kissed her forehead, Taani closed her eyes before opening them again and seeing him stood there, adoring her. Her husband.

OS 5

Onu awoke the next morning and opened his eyes to see he was alone. Taani was nowhere to be seen. He sighed before hiding his head under her pillow.

He heard the bedroom door close and lifted the pillow to see Taani walk in with a cup of tea. "Utgaya?"
"Haan, tu subha subha kahaan gayi thi?"
"Maa ne kaha ke tere liye chai banaake le aoon, to main le aayi" she said handing him the cup. "yeh le, peele" she said and he took it from her.

Taani made her way to the opposite end of the bed and put a suitcase on it, slowly putting clothes into it, one by one.

"Taani?" Onu said taking a sip
"Mm?" she said looking up
"Yeh sab kya hai"
"Packing Onu" she said stating obvious and went back to it.
"Ohhh, acha acha" he smirked and she looked up
"Kya?"
"Tujhe kabse honeymoon pe jaane ke jaldi hai?" he teased and she looked back down, smiling.
"Onu, chup kar aur chai pee!" she told him
"Lekin Taani" he got up from the bed
"Onu, main kehrahi hoon na. Chup!" she said, making him smile. "maa ne kaha tha ke packing karloon"
"Acha" he said with sarcasm as he nodded "maa ne kaha tha"
"Onu!" she warned through gritted teeth as he smiled, amused "jao neeche, maa bulaarahi hai tujhe" she said
"Acha" he drank the last sip of tea. "jaatha hoon" he said getting up "diyaan se packing karlena, kuch reh na jaaye" he teased and she turned to him as he ran off.

Onu made his way down and put the cup on the table. "Maa? Aap ne bulaaya"
"haan, utgaya tu?" she asked "chal ab sun, tune abhi tak honeymoon ki tickets book kiya ya nahin"
"Abhi nahin maa, vo.."
"To kab karegha? Jab jaayegha, tab?"
"Nahin maa, main abhi karta hoon" he took his phone out.

"Kohi achi si jaaga book karna" she called as he walked off.
"Jee maa"
"Aur haan" she said and he turned to her "kohi taand vaali jaga na book karna, agar Taani bemaar hojaye to?"
"Taani ki chinta" he muttered then threw a fake smile his mum's way. "jee maa" he said before making his way back upstairs.
