When we talked of Geet, the show a couple of months back, there was not a single soul that had anything bad or negative to say about it .. so much so, that every act of every character would be justified and ripped apart so as to make each of them look right ...whether it was Maan, Geet, dadi or even Dev and NT for that matter ...
However over a period of time, i feel, the feeling has changed, the audience has become a lot more cynical about the show, the way it has been presented, its story and also what the characters seem to say and be doing on the show ... I have been thinking about the same as well... a boat that was sailing so smoothly, now suddenly has become a centre of speculations and exceptations and storms... why ??? lets go step by step .. this is my perception...
when we first started watching the show, we perhaps had one thing to look forward to .. the union of the couple .. and i think the makers did a splendid job in presenting the Maaneet story in the most sensitive, convincing and heart touching manner .. however, one must also realise, they were learning, and exploring as they did so .. when people didnt want miscarriage, they scrapped the track, when people wanted maan and geets moments they made sure we got them .. and much recently, with fans not wanting to see their leads apart for such a long time, they also brought them back together in a matter of two weeks .. where else does this happen???
i decided to dig deep and look into what could have possibly gone wrong ... today, unfortunately, like most other forums, geet forum also has three groups .. the group that loves Maan, the group that loves Geet and the group that loves them as a couple .. however, if we look closely, all this stems from one selfish desire to see maan and geet together ...
I strongly feel when two persons are in a relationship, there are many things that make it work or go against it, and only the people in the relationship know what makes it tick! Then how do we become the people that decide who is right, and who is not? Also, a relationship is no comparison meter.. its not a weighing scale that measures who does less and who does more .. two people in a relationship work for certain reasons ... we all know how Maan and Geet fell in love .. while Geet brought Maan out of his recluse shell, Maan gave Geet the hope to live life and give it another shot. Both of them went through their share of insecurities and debates before giving in to each others feelings ... and they both felt let down in their relationship .. irrespective of their pasts .. i think both of them, mainly had issues with the way both of them handled one another once they were in their relationship ... and when that didnt happen bitterness crept in .. but thank god .. they had them all sorted with time .. as they realised they couldnt do without one another .. what else explains why Maan bought a paint company she was working in, and Geet on her part planning to stick on there despite knowing he had really hurt her, even if it meant cos of a misunderstanding? dont tell me she couldnt have walked out if she wanted ? and dont tell me, he couldnt have actually made sure she doesnt get a job anywnere else in the city ... but its never been about out doing each other for Maaneet ... neither has it been about whose love is greater .. so much so that until this week the two never ever named their relationship ... and tagged it "love" .. it was perhaps also because they knew what they feel for one another was way beyond that .. and the two also at some level began to feel they own each other and hence also hurt one another ..
right now ..i feel, Maan and Geet are at a stage in their relationship where they have learnt from their past mistakes, in their own relationship.. they have learnt to deal with the issues, over come them and embrace a life together ...we should be happy for them .. and not start weighing down who loves the other more, and who is greater than the other or who is more right than the other .. we love Maan and Geet, and we dont want them to mess up ... but we also cant be the ones to tell them who they deserve and how much they deserve .. let them decide what they want to do with their relationship ... after all... its their story .. not ours ...
Online forums, discussion boards, articles, debates and speculations have brought us so close to the makers, we almost feel we could talk to them one on one, and tell them what we want .. but i think that should stop at a point where you let the maker do what he wants to do with the story .. you may not like the track but embrace it because thats the way they want to tell you the story .. criticise it if they have faltered in terms of executing the story .. but dont turn against a show cos you feel injustice is being meted out to your personal favorite character .. working for 5 days a week( well 6 from now on) amidst 5-6 actors, and weaving a story is no easy job i am sure .. we get to say these things to them cos we are audience .. but more often than not we tend to forget that and tell them how they should be doing their jobs .. thats not done guys .. really ...!!
when they show romance we say show a solid story, when they show a story, we say chemistry is missing, and when they show chemistry, we say, its become repetitive ... greedy arent we ??? but i say this has to stop at a point .. we need to become a little more understanding, a little more considerate and empathise a little more with the characters on the show, the makers who present it to us as well as ourselves ..
at the end of the day, we cant mess up our good nights sleep fretting over a track! ditto ..
so .. guys .. do think about what i have had to say .. and do let me know what you think ...
decide .. is it Maan we are watching? Geet, or the show as a whole that we like as a package???
