i was just thinking, naku's not really ugly, she's just darjker, so by making her a joke of the village or the person everyone laughs at is kinda racist isnt it?, when shes not covered in black, her features are the smae, the same size eyes/nose/lips etc, so CVs are saying that dark people arent pretty??

I dont think its just the CVs saying that. All over the world there is a prejuidice against dark skin. In some countries people are less obvious but the prejuidice exists. Thats the reason Naku appreciates Dutta for not being prejuidiced.

Guys, Hope not initiating an arguement. But worldwide there is a discrimination based on caste color or creed. But biologically the discriminated people would be stronger either physically or mentally. This holds good for darker people as well. In fact genetically, darker people have an advantage over fairer people in having larg amounts of melanin pigment and are less susceptible to skin cancer. Therefore I feel people who are discriminated should realize that there is some potential in them which is making the others feel insecure and use their potential fully.

@Viji79: Off course not yaar! You're definitely welcome to voice your opinions here - not arguments here pakka! 😆

Segregated discrimination has been a prevalent demon in our societies for CENTURIES. Whether it's because of color, wealth, social status, family lineage, religions - you name it, we've got it! I feel it's a human condition (not that that justifies ANYTHING) - people have an inherent need to feel "better" in comparision to value their existence. It's been happening for so long it's almost like a well embedded habit that cannot be shaken off. But that does not overshadow the fact that there are still those comparatively few people who do not CARE about any of this and dare to find everyone equal.

In LTL, everyone makes fun of Nakku - not because the CVs are racist but because the CVs want to show just how discriminating everyone is. And everyone IS discriminating! Maybe not for color or creed, maybe for other things, but they definitely are at some point. They might not endorse it and be proud of that, but I am certain that everyone at some point has been a bit discriminatory. Like in my case, until I was back home and I had these "servants" who's cook for me and clean for me, I swear I'd think I owned them. Being rude to them wasn't a fault, it was just a job hazard. And now that I'm in the States, I wish I could go back in time and smack myself upside the head when I so much as employed a rude tone to say something to them! It wasn't fair and it wasn't nice - but it is being done. I mean how many people treat sales people like carriers of the bubonic plague? Is it their fault that they're doing a job that is helping them feed themselves and their family? Or is it their fault that they are in the service industry and are therefore inclined to make you comfortable, even if it is at their own expense.

Basically, discrimination is like the bad cousin no one wants to talk about - every one has it but no one wants to accept it (and fix it)!

First of all I would like to "say" a few words toFivr; wow, it takes a lot of maturity and courage to write what you wrote here. You're right, what's said and done is done, but not many people realize what you realized and fewer people are willing to admid when they were wrong.

Now to the topic; just like the othes said, it's not the creatives being racist. They show the audience a mirror of the problems around them. There are prejudices all over the world. Doesn't always have to be the colour of your skin, there are so many other things. For example, my surname (actually, both surnames I have) are quite difficult for germans to read/ spell/ say (I live in Germany but I'm not german). Sometimes people talk to me very, very really slow and precise like they would do with a little child. they assume I don't speak/understand the language. Most of them are quite embarrased when I answer in flawless german.

The creatives picked a problem of the society the show is set in. And they show their viewers the harsh reality and how wrong andhurtful it is. It's important to pick these things up, they need to be thematized.

So true, I meet hypocrites like that on a daily basis. "Oh no, we're not racist or prejudiced, we love everyone" Next thing you know they are b*tching about a person with dark skin, calling them ugly or saying right mean stuff! *maybe the lines were a bit of an exaggeration 😆 but generally thats how it is*
Frankly I'd love to shoot everyone who holds the notion of dark skinned people being ugly. Let me count so that's "3/4 of Asia and 1/2 the europeans and middle eastern population!" 😆😆
Okay so I'm being a bit prejudiced labelling people with that statement! 😆😆 Sorry 😳
