Samyukta helped the queen, Roopmati to ascend the elephant, the other queens were already seated…Veer's mother was beaming with happiness, why wouldn't she, after all it was her son's wedding who would soon become the king… samyukta was also accompanying them, since roopmati was unwell and needed timely help…Uday Singh who was sitting on the elephant in the front, ordered for the journey to commence…the horses of soldiers started walking…followed by the elephants, then the palanquins and again the soldiers at the end as a security measure, it would be a long journey, almost taking two days…

Bani hurried into the bathroom…it was too early but she didn't want meera to speculate, today she has do with cold water, nevertheless she unclothed herself… her fingers automatically reached for the places where the remains of last night still existed…the love bites left by him…she blushed and entered the circular bath filled with water…she shivered slightly…but the cold water helped to cool her nerves, seeping into her, taking away the weariness…she washed herself.

Bani was surprised not to see meera, as she tugged in her pallu properly, wondering what took meera so long…she heard tickling of anklets…

"You are ready…" meera asked surprised…

"I…I…got up early so…" bani fumbled to put words, meera looked at her intently, bani was standing nervous, twitching her fingers, her face has a peculiar radiance…

"You look different…" she said…

"I…nothing…" bani shrugged…

"Something…is…" meera couldn't pinpoint…

"Why are you late today…?"bani changed the topic…meera looked conscious…

"Well…last night…" meera began, bani sat on the bed with wide eyes…this was interesting…

"Night…" bani said urging her to speak, but meera was simply stoic in her expression…

"Last night kunal…"

"Kunaaalll…" bani sang…

"He said he loves me and wants to marry me…" meera said blankly…

"And you are saying it like somebody has died…you should be happy meera…" bani said, feeling joyful, she, jai, meera and kunal can always live together, happily…somewhere away from this palace…

"It's not possible bani…I will be coming with you…" meera said…

"Shut up…get married and be happy…" secretly feeling guilty that she didn't tell her about jai…she would have freaked out…

"I did expect this to happen…I was prepared to go with you…even my mother knew it…"

"Meera, if your heart says kunal will keep you happy, then listen to it…I will talk to your mother, she will never refuse me…" meera looked at bani for a second…

"Can I hug you…" meera asked, even thought they were friends since childhood, meera knew her limits and never crossed them despite bani not thinking her as a mere servant…

"Aww meera…" bani hugged her…

"You are a great princess…Rajkumari…" meera said…

Rudraksh breathed heavily; finally able to cut the ropes of his hand…he had chewed the threads of the rope with his teeth, he quickly unknotted the ropes tying his legs…he looked sideways towards veer who had been asleep…he groaned, the man guarding them had not yet come… this was the perfect opportunity… …he shook veer violently who got up with a start… …

"Come…" he whispered releasing veer and leading veer to the closed window…

There was still time for the dawn…picking up the ropes rudraksh tied the pieces together and made a long rope, sufficient to climb down…he prompted veer to climb down first…

"Me…no way…" veer exclaimed alarmed…

"You will go or I will throw you…" rudraksh said annoyed…having left with no choice veer meekly held the rope… …and climbed down almost fearing to death…rudraksh efficiently climbed down within minutes… …

Rudraksh looked around; the village was quiet and silent…

Kunal looked tense…meera was sat still trying to make sense of what she heard, bani gave perplexed glances which swayed from meera to jai and kunal…jai was the one sitting causally without any hint of stress…

"You are so cool…do you realize what will happen if the king knows the truth…" kunal said…

"He will sentence you to death…" meera mumbled…bani looked aghast…

"Shut up!!!" bani snapped…

"Bani…can you all clam down…" jai said…

"Calm down, do you know the King and Queen of Udaipur are coming for the wedding…and the truth will eventually come out that you are not Veer Singh…" bani said holding onto his arm… …

"I know…" jai smiled at her…

"Truth ahs to come out one day or the other…better late than never…" jai said…

"But do you realize what will happen after that…" bani said, tears welling up in eyes…

"I will die rather than marrying someone else…" bani said, openly crying now…

"You don't trust me princess…" he said wiping away those tears…

"More than myself…" bani said…

"Then…why these tears…"

Jai stood in the foyer watching the precession…the King of Udaipur was about to come at any moment… jai looked around haphazardly…where was kunal, he had sent kunal to get Veer Sing and his companion through the back entrance of the palace…but it seemed he had not yet arrived… …the shout of the elephant startled him, they had arrived…jai took a deep breath, preparing himself for what was going to unfold… …

Uday Singh descended the elephant…Ratan Suryavanshi moved forward folding his hands in reverence…

"It is our good fortune to have you here Maharaja…" Ratan Sigh said…

Just then kunal came behind jai and whispered that Veer and the other man had escaped… … jai gulped down…trying to hide behind the crowd of people gathered… …

"Where is Veer Singh, our brave son-in-law…"Ratan asked bani, who successfully masked her tension under her veil…

"Pitaji…he…he was…" bani wetted her lips… …

"He is here my majesty…Veer Singh is here…" a loud voice interrupted the hullabaloo causing everyone to go mute…

Everyone turned to the entrance to see Rudraksh coming along with Veer…

"Veer Singh…" Ratan whispered…

"Veer my son…" uday went towards him to hug when he noticed something was wrong, his clothes were tattered and they looked tired wearing haggard expressions…

"What happened Rudraksh…???" uday questioned… …

"I will tell your highness…" jai's deep voice roared in the silent gallery demanding everyone's immediate attention, bani bit her lip… …
