Who does the pre screening of contestants before presenting in front of judges?

At times some singer are awwfull, why waste judges time, get them screened before to save judges time.

Once again same thought comes to my mind, who should be Indian Idol? a singer or a performer who knows to sing ? Balance is ideal but whats the root criteria?

Why public is not allowed to vote from get go?

^ ^ correct. If they pre-screened the contestants, and got only good singers then life would be boring . I agree that some contestants are really very bad, and just come there to meet the judges or for some time-pass 😕. But its also true that the judges and the viewers need their dose of laughter every now n then 😆😆.

So here it is, our dose of laughter through these comedy contestants 😆.

Hey Raj ..I think Indian Idol should have a good blend of singing and performance in him/her....because II makes no mistakes about making it clear that they look for rockstar like attitude with singing talent ....one who would be visually pleasing too....not just a playback singing material .....

But ...what happens when top 24 gets selected is altogether different matter .....then audience votes start ... after top 12 gets selected , the gala round starts where each contestant gets eliminated each week ..problem starts after that .....because in last 2 years regionalism won over good singing .....judges weren't much help either ....

what do u mean by "get go"???😕..do u mean viewers' voting should start from theatre round itself?????😲 ...gaye kaam se....Infact I think last year it was due to audience voting at such an early stage that we lost bhavin, ayesha, Shifa ansari type singers .....of course who could ignore Alisha's craze for good looking cool dudes no matter how besura they sing!!!!!!!..

I think II goes to a great length to select some good singers and hype us a lot in the initial stage although the end result may not be to our( some of us) liking ....Well, we do have a good laugh and discussions about the show before that dismal end arrives😆.....

About those baffoons who come with no knowledge of music during auditon round...well that's only for TRP ....I think some of the participants know that they won't be selected but got chosen because they know how to act like "clowns" and don't mind making fool of themselves 😆...anyway , that's why it calls "audition round" and I enjoy watching those ...sp when judges' expressions r caught off guard😆....and guy like Manali's classmate 😆...

Overall .... I think an Indian Idol should have a solid sense of music and can sing any type of song from traditional to item with ease ....visually pleasing with certain charisma and attitude ...ultimate polishing about looks and confidence can be taken care of by the channel .....

i agree with anjali n ana about entertainment,its fun😊.
@bruno i agree about bhavin n others audience kicked them out😭, i still remember his stylish boots n ofcourse the singing n there were other very good singers i thought will be in final five who didnt make it to final 2,sure wsh they start voting at gala rounds.

Yeah, it's all about entertainment. Like Davinder Badal 😆 his rendition of Don was just amazing. But this is only audition rounds, and there are so many people who really do think they can sing. Mainly the true deserving ones get selected to go through to the theatre rounds and that's when it gets more serious. As for pre-screening, someone who doesn't know anything about music might sing very well once (for pre-screening), but it may take the next time to figure out that they can't sing. And if public starts voting right at audition rounds, then I'm sure many of those people will get selected just because they're fun to watch

....its screening on sony entertainment...and the show shud also hav entertainment......😉...so thy r pre screeing...........yet.........WE>>NEED GOOD SINGER AND PERFORMER LIKE ABHIJEETS AWANT

Bruno, I agree with you with the mostbut let's give some credit to "junta" because they bought Amit Paul back even after he forgot his lyrics.
