Amit kumar the son of legend kishore kumar.does anyone remember him,like him.I think he has a great voice but never got his due.any thoughts why?with his voice he could have been no.1 singer just like his dad.
I feel one major reason for him not getting in top slot in 80's (despite love story's songs being superhits) was that his dad was already no.1. Also late 80's saw the onset of new singers and trends in bollywood.somewhere he got totally lost.he sometimes sounds so much like his dad kishore da.please do comment.
read this piece of trivia on the net- It is very well kept secret by Amit and his father that when Raj Kapoor was producing Bobby for his son Rishi Kapoor, Amit Kumar was approached by Raj Kapoor and late music composers Laxmikant-Pyarelal to sing songs of this film. This could have been a huge break for Amit. But as destiny has its way, Amit somehow didn't reach for recordings.
