Amit takes a break from TV
Another one bites the film bait! Amit Jain (Pranav), the lead of the prime time show 'Thodi Khushi Thode Gham' (Sony), has signed a Mukta Arts' film.
Today, the actor leaves Mumbai for the shoot, having created a bank of episodes for 'Thodi..'. "This film happened by chance. I don't think I am ready to take the plunge into films," says an amused Amit. Although Amit doesn't play the lead, he will play a full fledged character, "very crucial to the plot of the film".
Unwilling to divulge much about the project, Amit only says that the film is one of the six new projects planned by Mukta Arts, and will be directed by Shashi. The film
tackles an offbeat issue, according to the TV actor, who's dabbled with films earlier. He has played one of the three main leads in Kalpana Lajmi's 'Kyon?', along with Chaitanya Chaudhary and Sanobar Kabir. The film, however, did not create any ripples.
As for his forced break from TV, Amit says he had informed the production house well in advance and has been putting in longer hours for the last 10 days to complete the requisite scenes. The track is currently focussing on the tribulations of Sneha and Pranav within the joint family, and hence, Amit cannot be missing from the track for a longer period.
Having earlier worked with the channel in 'Ye Meri Life Hai ', Amit adds, "The channel has been supportive".
