I found an old article published by The New Indian Express about Thendral.

Make up, giggles and glycerine

While Tamizharasu somehow finds a way to pay his debts, his wife, Thulasi, stands by him when her mother-in law betrays them over a financial issue. Thulasi confronts her mother-in law and re-unites with her friend Deepa. The serial Thendral's last episode of the week concluded on an emotional note.

Cut! And the director called for a lunch break. At 1pm, in the scorching heat, while everyone was finding a place to cool themselves in an AC room, the Thendral team was seen busy shooting for the coming week at Meenakshi Dental Hospital, Alapakkam.

Though it was a sober day because of the 36 degree heat, Shruthi (Thulasi, the heroine), the always-chirpy girl, unlike her reel character, just couldn't stop herself from giggling over silly jokes and gabbing with co-actor Sadhana (her step-mother, Padma). Her oppressed dad in the serial, Subalekar Sudhakar (Muthumanikam), was seen taking a quick nap, while the hero Deepak (Tamizharasu) seemed restless for the next shot to begin, and answered as many calls that time would permit.

At exactly 2pm, the make-up man arrived and the routine got underway. While the assistant director read out the dialogues once again to the actors, Subhalekha Sudhakar put on some glycerin and Sadhana sprayed little water on her face for the sweaty effect.

In this episode, Thulasi's step sister is admitted in the hospital and her step mother blames Thulasi for it. She gets into a heated argument with Thulasi's dad (Subhalekha Sudhakar), but he rebuffs her. In a fit of anger, she leaves the hospital.

Take OK! This is followed by a sigh of relief from the actors. The director, S Kumaran explains, "Being another women-centric serial, the story is concentrated on women's education and how a downtrodden young woman falls in love with the man, who motivates her to study further." He adds,  "Kadavul Kaivitallum, Kalvi Kai kodukkum sums up the storyline."

It's time to shoot the next scene. Tamizharasu tries to convince his father-in law (Subhalekar Sudhakar) to go home and console his wife. No re-takes, it's back to some more cool air for now.
