How did Laav change? This is one possibility. Somehow Laav must have known she is really working with the odukaali mom of Thulasi and this odukaali is the woman whose support she is banking on. If she has to work for that Odukaali, how can she ridicule Thulasi anymore? One reason laav believed she was superior to Thulasi was she believed Thulasi was the ponn of a odukaali. This was what her mom also said repeatedly. Of course GW by her expression showed, she is an unloving mom.

It will be interesting if some day they could show the flashback of how was the GW in her earlier days. Today we see her as a big evil woman who has only gutter and venom within her. Did she lose her husband when the three kids were very young? Did she get no family pension to bring up her kids after the death of her husband? How did she fund for bringing up the kids and educating them? We see Puvi, TA and Laav are all graduates. Did she go through many hardships in paying their fees? While we saw Padma very much in the evil form since the early days, we didn't see GW as so big evil till the day she got to know TA loving T. She may have seen Charu as some sort of solace for her. But losing Charu brought out all the evilness and hell from inside.

What I say does not mean, whatever GW did could be accepted. After her kids are married, GW has to learn to welcome their spouses and try to understand them which she is not doing. She will understand where she went wrong only when she finds herself in the streets and Thulasi takes care of her.
