Stefan / Elena / Damon : My POV

So, while most people are wanting Damon and Elena together, I'm probably in the minority and want Stefan and Elena together.

Why?

Stefan and Elena are soulmates. Even Klaus can see that. Stefan, even under compulsion will do whatever he can to save Elena from himself. Even in silence, these two can understand each other. Even when away from each other, Stefan only thinks of Elena's safety, and she of his. Elena knows how much danger she is putting herself into by trying to get him back (looking for a wolf pack on the day of the full moon) yet she can't stop herself.

The person hurt the most from this whole ordeal is Stefan. He sacrificed his everything for his brother, and is now being compelled to become the monster he hated. Even after being compelled multiple times, however, his love for Elena comes out stronger.

Damon? I feel if Elena truly loves Damon, she shouldn't have to see that once Stefan is gone. It seems as if she is seeking a replacement for Stefan. If Stefan were there, and she chose Damon over him, maybe I would support their relationship, but Stefan and Elena have gone through too much together. Even away from each other you can see the love they share, and how it's breaking them to be separated. Elena's emotions when she sees what Stefan has become; she still sees hope that just maybe she can bring him back.

At times, with Damon it seems as if he really loves her, yet at times it is as if he hasn't fully gotten over Katherine. There are times when he makes it known that Katherine means nothing to him, and that he loves Elena, yet sometimes in his vulnerability he shows a caring towards Katherine. Even if Damon truly loves Elena, it isn't fair for him to just be a rebound to her.

So those are my random thoughts, will come back later to post my thoughts about today's episode. :)
