Seriously? 😆
I love RaHi, so much so that despite never following this show regularly, had to keep tabs on this pairing through written updates...because the initial treatment of the story and characters were so fresh (unlike many other shows that were going on which wanted not to be like the old saas-bahu drama and yet was based on some single-line social concept that hardly gives any show enough story to run for more than 4-5 months with the uniqueness intact!).

All six characters shone with their individuality along with their mentor with his own story...which made it doubly interesting to watch their relationship (doesn't mean romantic only) build, grow, mature and change. 👍🏼

Characters like Omi, Avi and Ruku came with the introduction of season two...personally I have grown used to watch English shows and following their seasonal runs, so new characters I didn't have any problem with...it was the lack of any conclusive exit for the characters of Juhi, Bobby and Samar! When you leave the fate of such endearing characters undecided, it definitely feels something amiss. Either make occasional references to them mentioned in the remaining buddies' conversations or their past scenes because that's what The Buddy Project meant to me! Zero flashbacks, zero mentions, it's as if they never existed.
Worse, the lack of a satisfactory conclusion of these three buddies' stories meant I am left hanging dry hopelessly wishing that they made a return sometime!

Then the new three or four characters, which had ample potential to grow on us viewers the way they were introduced, suddenly turned obnoxious, or for the lack of a better adjective, schizophrenic with their inconsistent behaviour. 🤢

I wished post-breakup Avi was used as an indirect catalyst (just by being at the same campus with Panchi, not by slandering Panchi-RV's friendship) in Panchi's growing emotional vulnerability where she would act firm outwardly and RV sensing how she is yet to be healed..it's he who should have voiced the necessity to take Panchi away from the campus for some time to the other buddies...this Piddi winning a trip to a camp is rather random plot device! A plot where characters come and go just for the sake of convenience! Also with that we get a dangerously uneven, sketchy character called Rukmini, who had been given a character story of a girl trying to rise above her possible fate of becoming nothing but a caretaker and baby machine and prove herself before getting settled. From there, we have come so far to find a girl who is behaving like an obsessed vamp more fit for K-soaps than TBP! 😲

I don't hate Rukmini because that generates too much negative energy...I pity the actress and her character for how spectacularly butchered it is by the writers. When will writers understand that turning the third wheel negative or bitchy is NOT the only way to make any pairing justified? RaHi are not meant to be just because Ruku is bitchy (For me RaHi were always meant to be together, come whatever impediment may between them..by the definition of being soulmates'). The writers may not have intended such correlation but the way some RaHi fans are badmouthing Ruku is really surprising me. Ruku is an unwelcome thorn between them, sure. But did she zero on RV with the intention of getting together with him? Was RV an unwilling guy in their relationship? We don't want to see Ruku coming between RaHi's friendship, that's understandable. But the reality is Panchi is the one who unintentionally came between an established romantic (however weak) relationship. I would rather have RV realize he would never have the emotional equation with anyone else what he has with Panchi and that he always unknowingly wanted to find that kind of understanding with the girls he seriously pursued...and then, man up about his real feelings regarding Panchi to both Panchi & Ruku. Not by making Ruku turn a mega bitch from a bitch. That will be a justification as lame as it could be.

Whoa, I hadn't written such a lengthy post for a longgg time! And given I hardly post in I-F, let alone in the TBP forum, this post would seem like a rant-blast coming out of nowhere! But I really, really had to get out all these pent-up feelings about the way RaHi's story and others connected to their story have been handled. 😕

P.S. looking forward to see RV realize what he means to Panchi and what Panchi means to him, then the confession, then the *ahem* kiss! I believe in getting lucky in third try, (not counting Kiya cause they were not serious about it) so I damn hope this one seals the deal!

P.P.S. The Vamp-ish gf plot bores me as already have seen such characters so many times in old serials...so it's not the actor's fault though..she nails it! Just wanted to see such a pretty and capable young actress in a better role fit for such a show that was really youth-oriented and fresh! Bad luck for Sonal!

Off to see the latest episode which I have missed thanks to the effin' power cuts!

Pretty much THIS!
You my friend pretty much covered everything in this confession of yours! From bobby, samar and juhi to season 2 new character entries to rukmini's sudden vampness and rahi's meant to be ness. I have nothing much more to add, partly because of time constraint and partly because you have worded everything so perfectly that I don't have the heart to add anything more.

Touche is all I can say!

TBP has disappointed me quite a few times in its character treatment, especially in season 1 when proper justice wasn't done to samar, juhi and bobby's story lines. I have always noticed those things that you mentioned and it has always bothered me, but instead of saying it out loud, I kept it in and chose to focus on the good parts of the show! but, I guess it's good to hear I wasn't the only one who noticed these things! 😳

Am actually feeling 😳 now!

Lagtaa hain my rant was something that rendered you guys dumbstruck! 😆

Also, spicySugar or Maisy... it was your updates and other which helped me most to keep myself informed about this show, RaHi and then decide whether I should watch some episodes! 👍🏼

Have finally watched this epi..the pit part was not exactly what I imagined it to be, but what followed was not too random. *Again ahem...I think I'll need to watch that again when RV will actually confess to remember what was a milestone in that direction😉*

Hopefully RV's dilemma over giving emphasis to either his real happiness or to Panchi's 'give-me-a-break' mode gives way to RV pining for her while she avoids being near to him even when they are in the campus!

bang on post
well u jst sed it all

tbp was never jst abt romance and love ...it was also abt other emotions, basically friendship where love was a part ...bt now i dun see any kind of friendship bond betn all the buddies together...they r jst scattered , usy in their own world. it was like this be4 . buddies were together always and wid their unity they solved all the problem. and abt samar , juhi and bobby ...i still din understand their exit ...i mean they shd hav dun some justice to the character and gav us a prop exit of these characters ...atleast samr and juhi ...they should some reason that they went to some other coll bt bobby ...there was no reason ...there was some prob betn piddi and bobby ...which was also not cleared ...

comin to s2 ...the new characters who were introduced...i dun see any of them in the show ryt now except rukmini...and i really doubt she'll continue after rahi are together. i mean they were such gud characters ...and they had soo many different layers ...esp omi and avi. all of a sudden the lovin avi changed into a complete villian. omi went gayab for no reason.. avantika atleast had some reason ...bt still she shd hav come bak ...avi - avantika bond was always appreciated...bt dono gayab. now rukmini, a girl frm small town ...they cud hav shown soo many thigs ...given soo many messages thru her. bt no ..they had to make her a vamp ...turnin the characters of avi and rukmini negative was nt the onli way to get rahi together...they cud hav helped rahi understand their love for each other.

and the worst is jj dissappearance...he was the mentor ...the person who actually kept all the buddies together. he was like the leader...bt wer is he now..

u jst told everythin which i guess most of us noticed and were dissapointed. osom post "applause"👏👏👏

You know that moment when you read a post that resonates your thinking SO much that you're like WHOA. Mindblown.

So I just had that moment 2 minutes ago.

Like I've always, always tracked TBP from the start. Like I'd read somewhere that the PH was going to be Sunshine, and since I've loved their MJHT and NBT, I thought, lets give this one a shot. I never landed up watching the entire show, but one random day when I was bored and sick in my dorm, I watched like a few RaHi scenes and I was smitten. Yeah yeah, I'm one of those hopeless romantics who think that the Casanova guy and the girl next door who're best friends are supposed to be soulmates. One of the most cliched romances in the book, but oh well. I like cliches. Sue me.

So yeah. I liked RaHi, but back in those days, I realised that RaHi were only going to be portrayed as best friends, so I tracked WUs and managed to watch the occasionally cute scenes that would come up. And I didn't have an issue with it.

So the buddies graduate, and I was like MEHHH. Fine, you retain RaHi and KiSha and Piddi [cause he's funny and smart] and you kick the rest? I think there were 2 mentions of Samar and that's it. Like haiiin? Anywho. I was happy that KiSha were together and RaHi were as close as always, and then we see the entry of Ruku baby, Omi and Avi [and that girl too, but I don't remember her name 🤔]. So yeah.

While I adore RaHi and always wished for em to be soulmates, I was very open to the idea of them dating other people before coming to a realisation that boink! I love my best friend! cause I mean, lets be real. Everyone has had a few relationships which may or may not have failed. So Ranveer and Panchi dating other people, I was like okay. Not bad.

But like you said, they used the third wheel/s in such awful ways! Like the Omi-Avi thing confused me to no end. Till date, I can't figure out if Avi loved her, or just liked being with her, just wanted to use her or was an obsessive person who obsessed over Panchi. Cause it didn't end properly!

Ruku baby. Firstly, I completely sympathize with her for being so mad at the kiss. Like RV's still with her, and it was wrong to kiss Panchi, despite the RaHi fans cheering and doing the marimba. I can understand Ruku baby getting mad at him and asking him to introspect. What annoyed me, was Ruku baby's pick me or her. Like seriously? Why turn her into a regular desi vamp to make RV realise that he's meant to be with Panchi? Why couldn't she have helped him introspect and accept the decision he makes/takes? The CVs have butchered her character by making her seem so needy and overly possessive.

Coming to KiSha..

I've liked them a lot, but well, its obvious I prefer RaHi. Not for any other reason except my own personal sappy nature, so yeah. But seriously, the career track had a bit of issues, but I like how its going now. KD was being very selfish in asking Kiya to stay back for the sake of their relationship. I mean, there's that saying which says if you love someone, let them go. if it was meant to be, they'd return. if not, it was never meant to be and I completely agree to it. So what if it would have been an LDR? Love and sacrifice are synonymous, and are incomplete without the other. But, I am glad for this turn of events in their life as this is obviously gonna make their relationship much stronger.

I now realise this is my longest post in a VERY long time. Pshh. Feels so good. Needed to get this all out of my system.

Amazing post!!
