I noticed a discussion in various threads about this being turned into a saas bahu story from a love story. I thought this is an interesting discussion so created a separate topic for discussion.
In my opinion, this show was always a saas-bahu (i.e. normal saas and a stammering bahu) show. I think I claimed this way back in DS-Thapki love story days as well. They start a show with Thapki's parents trying to get her married, her marriage breaks by the end of week. She moves to Noida and joins the office and Vasu-Pandey family drama is introduced the very next day.
The text in the beginning claims it to be story of person with a disability. There was never any exploration of this disability in any other aspect of Thapki's life except her getting married. The office experience was short and she was bullied like all soap leads are when they start a job. Even Khushi in IPKKND was bullied more or less the same.
TPK is and always was a saas-bahu show for me.
