@maty - I agree that being wife comes before being a bahu. She has been on the "bahu bandwagon" from day she walked into this house as I see it. However, she could be seeing this as her "adopted" family and doing what a good beti does - Keeping relation with guru maa, holding up the family honor, etc. Bauji/Vasu brought her back as "beti" after she/her family refused to accept the marriage.
In her mind, she has no relation with Bihaan and her relationship with the family is independent of her relation with Bihaan. She has never acknowledged her relationship with Bihaan from her own mouth (ie never put bihaan and husband in the same sentence)

It is getting tough to defend Thapki. 😆😆😆

She has not softened towards Bihaan because he is the constant reminder of everything that is wrong in her life. He may saved her so many times, but then he is responsible for the mess. If he had let her marry DS, he wouldn't have do this. He brought it upon himself. Plus she would have done the same for him if the opportunities had been presented. So what's big deal?

As for liking vasu - Duty and karma overrides feelings. - Mahabharata and Bhagvat Gita say so.
As for Shraddha - Ahimsa is best - Buddha said so.

😆😆😆

Now your turn...

@bold: Coincidence? 🤣

Anyway, usually, I am Thapki's advocate, lol. Nice to see someone else jumping into the role (talking of which, where'd Dispu disappeared to? 😕) And I agree with your point. Although, I once mentioned in another thread, that the CVs could have handled Thapki's "unforgiving" stance in regards to Bihaan a lot better, if we're honest. They could have done it more subtly, given layers to her behaviour - instead of feeding us the same dialogues, again and again, and showing ThaHaan making one step forward and suddenly, just like that, two steps back without a proper "explanation" as to why. As you know, I haven't been watching the show for a while, so, I can't judge whether that's still the case or not.

Another problem I am having with Thapki's character is the lack of showing her "smartness", to some degree. Take an example: Bihaan faking his death and later, he even blurted out that he wanted to re-unite ThaRuv by taking himself out of the picture, because ThaRuv "loved" each other. Now, anyone in her position would have been expected to start thinking from that point onwards - that ThaRuv cared for each other, and that there were feelings involved, was no secret. But still, Bihaan went ahead to marry her instead, stating that she was not good enough for Dhruv. So, why, all of a sudden, was her stammering discarded and love was good enough a reason for Bihaan to re-unite them? When, before, he went to such drastic length to stop the marriage? There is inconsistency here.

Also, her self-pity was just too much. Granted, she has been wronged. But why the need to express this, repeatedly? It just makes her look weak and un-sympathetic, IMO. It's exactly like Bihaan stated in that Daan-episode: he, too, could start pitying himself and trying to get sympathy from everyone as he didn't have an easy life, either. But he doesn't and he takes life on as it comes; that's what makes him love-able.

In the end, it really looks like the CVs have just written Thapki poorly. That character needs to develope better and independantly from the subtle development of ThaHaan. She is the main character, after all, and yet, majority of us watch for Bihaan- but Bihaan shouldn't be the one carrying the show alone.

@Amina
Before the wedding, I actually watched the show for Thapki only. I liked the character. The mahaanta was well balanced with a sense of self-respect and intelligence. After the marriage, CVs butchered the character to raise Bihaan's profile. They did not butcher it as badly as they did with DS, but it was not well handled. Repeated dialogues and circular storyline damaged the character even further. I think Thapki has come a long way and appreciates Bihaan more than she even realizes but we, as the audience, are out of patience. Even her small but positive step forward tend to annoy us as too little too late.

Thapki has like the current crop of FL, who are mahaan and very dumb. They trust everyone except their husbands. BTW most of these shows are running on ML. example - Kalash, Yeh kahan aa gaye hum etc.

Amina I'm thahaan's advocate!
Katori- I think maty is right! Coz acc. To hindu law, if a couple wants divorce they had to live separately frm each other for at least 6months...then only they will be divorced...so if she really wants divorce so she shud live separately frm day1 of her marriage!

good point amina...Thapki is supposed to be the one grabbing the attention as she's the one around whom story revolves... but , ppl are watching it more for bihaan . bihaan has become the center of attraction instead of thapki. and this mainly due to the poor writing of her character. it lacks layers.!
This is why i said on another post that youth shows are a lot more bearable when talking about FLs . they noe to manipulate when needed and be totally humble when required. They noe to stand for themselves!

Thapkiland law was that marriage cannot be broken for 3 months. There was no stipulation if they had to live together or separately. She decided to live with him for her family honor - not for divorce.

Don't ask such meaningful questions...cvs would be outraged 😆 ...as for thapki I don't hate her like other FLs of soaps...she does have a valid reason for her anger on bihan...and bihan is no saint because he did destroy a girl's hopes and dreams and caused her family to face humiliation just because his maa told him...he is a fully grown adult and he should have had a stronger stand for what was right...now he is trying to redeem...but for thapki she must be wary of bihan...she puts her self respect above her life...bihan saving her life will only soften her becoz for her life is not as important lol...and besides I think what ticks off thapki is that bihan never seemed sorry for what he did at least to the ppl in the show...he never apologized did he ?... I don't remember an apology...he always seemed so cool abt wat he did...i personally think that he thought sorry won't cut it and he is not deserving of an apology...i think that is a solid reason for thapki
