Guys, it should not be the question that who is the lead, I mean it is a daily soap and at various points, the characters undergo changes according to the storyline. So, what if the question is like this, "Whose story is this?"
It is clear from the intial promo of the serial (even before the start) that it is the story of Thapki, a girl who is humiliated on daily basis due to her stammering. It is the story of this girl, who even after all the obstacle managed to get the happiness and love. Yes, she managed to attract the Pandey parivar for her qualities and love did come her way in the form of DS but here fate went against her. Instead of marrying DS, she ended up with Bihaan, the adopted son of Pandeys. But, Thapki didnot accept this stroke of her fate and did declared that she didnot accept this marriage. But as this is a Hindi daily soap, she had to come back to pandey nivas and stay with Bihaan. Here comes the beauty of the story that like other FLs, Thapki did stand against the injustice done to her. Ofcourse, at a point she will start to love Bihaan as the story demands or else but I will always support the initial confidence of Thapki for her stand against the injustice.
But it is not only the story of Thapki only as the message before every episode says that this serial is inspired by the people who knows how to walk forward inspite of many obstacles in their life. It is just a gentle push of love or THAPKI PYAAR KI to make them go forward inspite of their imperfection. That clearly indicates that it is also the story of Bihaan. Let us keep aside our unconditional love for Bihaan for some time and discuss Bihaan. Bihaan is the adopted son of Balbinder Pandey and the whole family loves him like anything. The reason I am writing him as only bauji's adopted son is that Vasu never accepted Bihaan as her son. It is the reason that BIhaan remained illiterate and was invloved in some gunda-gardi on behalf of Bauji. Yes it was Bauji who need Bihaan's help in his work as he and DS has major difference over the line of Bauji's work culture. Bihaan loves his bauji very much and can die for him but it is the mother's love he always craves for. He alwyas knows that he is discriminated by Vasu but still loves her very much. It is the reason that he almost lost his own family by marrying Thapki against her will.
It is the story of that orphan, who to save his family's honor, lost his own chance of love and happiness by marrying Thapki. He was emotionally blackmailed by his mother into marrying Thapki and even after facing constant humiliation, he did everything for Thapki and her family (Remember that Diwakar drama after marriage?)
It is the story of two different people, who under circumstances became husband wife and hated each other, but gradually began to help each other in different situation. It is the story of two people who are ill treated by the society and family equally, but still are doing their best to make everyone happy.
It is the story of two imperfact people in the society's sense, nor that they are imperfact seriously. Stammering doesnot make you imperfact nor does illiteracy. The perfectness lies in your heart and both these two have good heart. Ok, I am getting biased over Bihaan but he has a golden heart. DS is perfact in every sense, so as the CVs make it sure before every episode that it is the story of imperfact people, it is not his story.
