After watching this show, I have started to wonder how those young girls have to face the sasuraal and society when this stuff happens. It is shameful that some girls don't think about their parents before taking such steps.

Today, I feel bad for Sahiba. She is too young for this relationship, she wants to study and focus on her career and now she has to take care an unknown family and a husband who is her enemy.

Society taunts the one who is present not the later who did the fiasco. The girl life is ruined and actually nobody wants to marry like this. Where the situation is like... It's sad ...

i completely agree, Angad is furious that bride is changed however if it was Seerat he would have accepted even if she was middle class.

Seerat had plenty of opportunities to reveal her true feelings to Angad. But she chose to run away putting the families to shame. I think people blame Sahiba because she is the one who is present in front of them so she had to bare there rage & frustration.

In reality such a situation is quiet rare I think and even if the bride does runaway , there is usually no on the spot marriage with next available female. As for girls not thinking about their parents - did the parents give the girl a real choice without any pressures? Real choice is when there is no clauses attached eg: telling the girl ki a hi shaadi nahin karogi tho aage jaake Acha ladka nahin milega or umar badthi jaa rahin hain tumhari or tum moti hon isse Acha nahin milega- saying things like this and then saying baaki tumhari marzi is not giving choice (the show is different, Seerat had all the choice in the world plus herself wanted a rich husband, part blame of which lies at her mother’s feet for raising her to be the best available commodity rather than a well rounded human). If the girl was not given a fair and free choice and then she chooses to runaway , then the parents crying foul is of no use. I know that in some cases the girls run off with absolute lafangas but even in such a case if before hand you have explained to your daughter what can come from such an alliance and she still chooses to go ahead with such a relationship, it’s better to let her go ahead with it rather than forcing another marriage on her and especially hiding this fact from the prospective groom like some parents do. All of this happens because we treat marriage like the be all end all of life and no focus is placed on making a girl financially independent at all. Believe me - I have witnessed this first hand - no father, brother or husband can save you all the time. Financial literacy and financial independence for women should be a much stressed topic.
