A few years down the line, an actor often feels the urge to try something new even if it involves risk.

So when Harshad Chopra was offered Mohan Galla, a character loosely inspired by Mahatma Gandhi, he lapped it up immediately. Abhishek Rawat of Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo too was in the running for the role. Bandini girl Aasiya Kazi will play female lead. Informs a source, "The channel had approached Harshad and Abhishek to play Mohan and the former has been finalised. When contacted Harshad refused to comment. However, Aasiya said, "Talks are on with the channel and the shoot will commence in the next few weeks. I am keen on playing the role but can't confirm anything as yet."

It sounds interesting...Aasiya Kazi's the female lead. I'm not sure abt anything yet, they've said he's 'finalized' but not that he's signed the dotted line...although of course he's said to like the idea of the role. Best of luck for him and for his future if this goes on the floors finally, I do hope the show does well! If this does eventually happen, I hope APK comes back soon in a good role too...I'll miss the two of them together though 😕

Gonna wait and watch but when Harshad refuses to comment 99% of times it means he has something to do with it 🤔

If its finalized wish him all the best and hope it turns out great ... not very sure at the moment about the concept and all, i guess he wants to try some thnig different but from the idea of it sounds like another female oriented show, you never know lets see it might surprise us

Yea hopefully apk would sign one soon too all the best to her as well

Nads I'm guessing it's going to be focussing more on the younger Gandhi...by the looks of it they might focus on their younger years...either before Gandhi/Gulla's trip to London and then South Africa, or maybe a little after.

All of us are possessive of TaAnu but a TV actor's career depends in the end not just on the jodis s/he's a part of but the quality of shows they appear in. We can't expect him or APK to be part of the same pair all the time. Inshallah if things work out and someone actually does pair them together it would be great but an actor needs his space to portray the characters s/he wants, and Harshad - I'd like to believe - would only take such a role if it had some meat to it...

Even TL and HarshIya happened because Harshad broke away from the expected mould and paired up with a comparatively new co-star who till then hadn't had main roles...if HC and APK didn't take those plunges, TL wouldn't have happened...

HC's first real show LRL was with DJ creatives, sangini was a dj show too ... not sure about their other shows

Thanks for sharing Lizzy.. Looks like a wonderful concept.. The show is named "Dharampatni" so it looks like a female character oriented show.. But Im sure Harshad will rock it as well.. 😃 He gets molded in whatever character it is... 😳And plus its based on Gandhi- Kasturba's story.. Wud love to see HC there.. Im like sure that he is doing it coz he hasnt commented but not denied it as well... Looking forward to it.. Aasiya is a good actress as well.. God bless him..

@Lizzy : Along with LRL and Sangini, DJ's shows include Jassi jaisi koi nahin, Choti Bahu and Maryada to name a few..
