I still remember when they played this song for the first time in show ... how much we all had loved it ... in early days this song was one of the reasons that made me fall so badly for Onu 😆

His last words to Taani had not been 'I love you,'; 'I will miss you'; nor had he been tight-lipped. A soft 'Bye' had escaped from his lips as he stared at her tear-stained face. Before he had lapsed into his eternal silence, he had descended to a literally child-like mode, and like a baby who is unaware and yet aware of when someone dear is leaving him, he had sadly bid farewell to her.

Taani Ganguly had not lost patience. Even when the entire world had advised her to start afresh in life, to take advantage of her fame and riches, and forget the supposedly raving madman her husband Anurag had become, she had stubbornly insisted on devoting her life to him. But now her tolerance was wearing out. No one seemed to understand her frustration, her pain when he failed to recognize her, when he failed to remember a single detail of their life, that he had forgotten so easily that he had loved her.

It was time to leave now. Not because the asylum's timings were over, but because she had decided it was time to let go. It would be painful, it would be terribly selfish, but she had to stop confusing him. He wanted his Mishti, and his Mishti had died a gruesome, horrible death the moment they had been separated. Her twisted heart could take it no longer. It was already mangled-she wouldn't let all the blood be drained out of it. She had lost hope.

As she got up to go, he caught onto the pallu of her sari and whimpered. She cringed, and closing her eyes and cursing herself, she gently ripped it out of his grasp and started walking towards the gates of the asylum. He made strangled noises, like an animal being whipped, for he knew now that she was not coming back, that no one would give him sweets anymore. And yet he chided himself-what was she to him? She wasn't his Mishti. And yet she so painfully reminded him of her.

As she was fading into the mist, he said 'Bye', so softly, that she couldn't hear.
