Anupriya Kapoor and Kinshuk Mahajan in Jee Le Zindagi

Spin A Tale Entertainment is coming up with a new travel-based show Jee Le Zindagi on Star Plus. The show which will soon be on air has Tere Liye star Anupriya Kapoor and Kinshuk Mahajan who was last seen in Chand Chupa Badal Mein as two of the contestants.

A source says, "Anupriya Kapoor and Kinshuk Mahajan have been finalised for the reality show. Jee Le Zindagi is a travel-based reality show and there will be at least eight pairs participating in it. Each pair consists of a male or female actor and a non-actor. The shooting will take place in outdoor locations and the tasks given to them will be fun-filled and exciting. The shooting for the show will begin in the end of July in Rajasthan and the show will go on air from mid-August. The show will be a bi-weekly and participants will be given cars for the road trip."

Anupriya Kapoor confirmed her participation and said, "Yes, I am part of the reality show. I accepted the offer as the show is not like Khatron Ke Khiladi or Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao but a fun- filled road trip."

Kinshuk Mahajan confirmed his participation but refused to comment any further.

Other actors reported to be participating in the show are Mohit Sehgal, Arjun Bijlani and Rati Pandey.

Mona Singh

Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega is preparing for Mona Singh's vivah on the show. The judges have always tried matching her kundali with the contestants of the show but Mona is still single. Hence the show has now gone a step ahead and brought in five TV celebrities to play the role prospective grooms. Out of the fivedulhas on the show four are married namely Gurmeet Choudhary, Sharad Kelkar,Angad Hasija and Ali Asgar. Only Harshad Chopda is the unmarried one who will participate in the show but Mona has selected the much-married Ali Asgar as the groom.

A source says, "The promos related to Mona's vivah are already on air and to win her heart the actors will have to entertain the audience. Hence each actor will perform on the show and Gurmeet will emerge as the best performer of the day. And it doesn't end here. Actors will also have to answer questions thrown at them by Anu Malik and Farah Khan."

As reported earlier Harshad Chopda danced on a medley of SRK's songs and Gurmeet performed some martial arts and fire stunts. However talking about the performances of the other actors the source said, "Sharad Kelkar also did a fire stunt and the actor trained himself for the act. Angad Hasija performed the tandav nritya and Ali Asgar performed an act where he started off as a Bengali guy and finished as a roadside Romeo. Mona liked Ali's act so much that she agreed to be with him."

Ali confirmed, "I feel very fortunate that she selected me. Apart from that it was fun shooting for Entertainment' and being with all the other actors on the show."

Shakktii Aroraa

Shakktii Aroraa, who recently entered Sanskaar Laxmi, met with an accident on the sets of the show.

In one of the scenes Shakktii had to teach his onscreen wife, Veebha Anand, how to cook and the lad ended up burning himself with hot oil, which splattered on his arms. Shakktii says, "In real life, I can cook to live which means I can usually make Maggie, eggs and tea for myself.

Besides that I don't know a thing about cooking. Being a foodie, I had always wanted to learn cooking but this incident has left me with little desire. "We had to stop the shoot and though I immediately got the required medication, I am still in pain. We have resumed shooting and now we are trying to hide the boils on my hands with make up," says Shakktii.

Shakti Arora's second chance

Shakti Arora now believes in second chances as it was a second chance that got him the lead role in Zee's Sanskar Laxmi.

Thrilled to be part of a show on prime time and graduating to a lead from the second lead in Balaji's Tere Liye as Tapush, Shakti hopes to make a mark for himself.

Talking about his role Angad in Sanskar Laxmi, he says, "Playing a lead is a big deal. And I love the character of Angad as he is chirpy, bubbly, lively and very much like me in real life. He injects humour into serious situations and though the show is full of drama, yet there is a light heartedness feel to it as well. People have told me they like the character and my performance and I couldn't be happier being part of this show. Hailing from New Zealand, he is modern yet has retained traditional values but isn't orthodox. He values relationships and wants to sort of the life of Laxmi who is the bhabhi in the house. Angad feels compassionate for her state and has a soft corner sort of for her." He refuses to reveal the future track which sources claim will lead to Laxmi and Angad falling in love, with Suraj out of the picture.

He claims, "I was offered the role of Suraj by the producers when they were casting but as I was doing Balaji's show Tere Liye, I was bound by contract and couldn't accept this show. As luck would have it, they came back to me with Angad's role which is much better than Suraj."

Fitting into the unit which already jells well is tough but Shakti managed. "The whole unit had been working since few months so had become friendly and family like with each other while I was a newcomer among them. Initially, it was tough but soon we all became friends and today it feels as if I have been doing this show since the beginning. The unit, producers and cast are all wonderful, talented people."

Praising his costar Vibha Anand he adds, "She is definitely a talented actress as she has proved her mettle in Balika Vadhu. She has been doing a fabulous job as Laxmi too."

Reshmi turns host

Reshmi Ghosh, who was last seen in Tere Liye on STAR Plus, is all set to explore a new territory. She will be turning host with the latest season of Comedy Circus- Comedy Ka Naya Daur that will begin this weekend.

Reshmi reveals, "I was nervous about hosting the show. I have hosted some shows for a Bengali channel in the past but that was easy like the kind you see on Zoom TV or other lifestyle channels. This is for the first time that I will be hosting such a big show. I have shot for the first episode but it is only after the show is telecast that I will know how good a job I have done. I have to say that the judges and artistes were very helpful and did not make me feel like a newcomer. They made me comfortable and the shoot went off well."

Speaking about her look in the show, the actress says, "Like the hosts of the previous seasons, I too will be wearing short dresses but I will make sure that it is nothing vulgar. I have been in the industry for 12 years now but have never agreed to don any vulgar dress. The producers of Comedy Circus are quite cool in that matter and have given me the freedom to wear what I like."

When asked about her favourite performs on the show Reshmi quips, "I love everyone from the previous seasons as all of them have such good comic timing. If I have to pick then my favourites are Krishna, Sudesh, Bharti and Kapil."

Reshmi also reveals that besides this show there are some other projects that we will get to see her in soon. The actress says, "There are a few projects in the pipe line and I am excited about them. I am now relaxed about work as I can afford to pick and choose. Hosting was something I wanted to try and am doing that but I will not take up something I am not excited about. I am open to experimenting with all kinds of roles except mythological. If it is for a movie, it is a different thing but mythological roles on TV are too taxing."

The show is loosely inspired from the love story of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi and Kasturba. The show was initially titled as Kastur but later on after a lot of brainstorming, the title of the show has been finalized as Dharampatni. The promo of the show is already out and the show will be on air by August first week.

Looteri Dulhan will be replaced by Dharampatni sometime in mid August on Imagine..

Looteri Dulhan will be the next fiction show on Imagine to bite the dust. The experimental show which started as the tale of a con girl who is forced to dupe the older men she marries on her wedding night, underwent certain changes recently to better its ratings. Not only was the female protagonist Krishna Gokani replaced with Supriya Kumari, the entire story line got changed with the introduction of many new characters.

But nothing seems to have worked in favour of the show, as the latest news is that Looteri Dulhan will be shutting shop in mid August.

A little birdie tells us, "Though the exact date is not finalized, it is confirmed that Looteri Dulhan will be making way for Dharampatni, that will have Harshad Chopra and Aasiya Kazi as leads. The shoot of Dharampatni, jointly produced by DJ's Creative Unit and Endemol India will start on the 22nd of this month, and the launch is expected sometime in mid August".

We tried calling Mrunal Jain and Supriya Kumari, the protagonists of Looteri Dulhan, but could not get through to them.

Our efforts to get in touch with Saurabh Tewari, Head of Programming – Fiction, Imagine TV,were futile.
