COMEDY tops my priority list now! Telly actor Reshmi Ghosh talks about her career graph, recognition, marriage and more in an interactive chat session with AT Kruti Lakhlani Taking from modelling to t e l ev i s i o n shows and movies, actor Reshmi Ghosh has done it all.And this dusky beauty appears quite content with the way her careers shaped up at this juncture.Reshmi was at her perky best when AT caught up with the actor during her recent trip to the state. Having done many television shows,Reshmi let her acting ability did the talking and her potential recognised. And the actor has many accolades and a Bengali movie to her credit too.Recently, the actor is basking in the glory of being felicitated as the most voted actor in a poll.An excited Reshmi says,Getting selected out of so many good actors feels superb. One doesnt get to see the actor much on TV,of late. The actress feels that it is just that she has become selective about the kind of roles and shows she is offered.I am very much an integral part of TV today.I was doing different things on different channels instead of sticking to a particular show for a long time.I decided to take a break after my last show Baba Aaiso Var Dhundho.I am just waiting for the release of my Bengali movie Uro Chitthi, says Reshmi, who had done dance re a l i t y shows like Nach Baliye-2. About her stint in the show, the actress says,Its during the show that I realised how passionate I am about dancing and regretted not being trained professionally in dance.I did another reality show Chance Pe Dance (on a regional channel) where I got much appreciation from Saroj Khan.Dance gives me a high. However, the actor confesses that adventure based reality shows are not her cup of tea.I was offered Survivors but I refused as I was too scared to do the show. Having played negative role in one of her shows, quiz her if she would like to do similar type of role, and Reshmi says,Once you are successful portraying certain kind of role, people tend to associate you with those because an image gets formed. She adds,Negative roles are chall e n g i n g.Doing a negative role brings out the versatile actor in you.I dont stick to playing only negative roles.I play positive characters in Bengali movies to seek creative satisfaction.Doing comedy tops my priority list now. Her 12 year journey in the e n t e r t a i n m e n t industry has taught her many things.I have learnt many things about acting and matured as an actor over the years. For me,playing a good character is important, says the actor who feels television and films are two different meduims which give different kind of exposure to an actor.TV show is more of an impromptu exercise whereas one gets time to practice for a role in the movie, says the actor. She was all set to tie the knot with her beau Amit Gupta but it did not get materialise. We are still in love but our families want us to take care of our respective careers.Marriage can wait, Reshmi says.On Gujarati cuisine,Reshmi says,I love Gujarati thali, on a p a r t i n g note.
