Did you always plan to be an actor or was it just a mere co-incidence?
Zain - Honestly, being in front of camera always excited me, but I wasn't sure that I wanted to be an actor, so I started taking up modelling projects when I was in Delhi. I started working with a corporate giant but hated being bossed around, so I quit. I moved to Mumbai and grabbed few ads where I got noticed and soon landed two TV shows. While the former one was a youth show, I'm playing the lead in the second one.

Any plans of venturing into movies?
Zain - I'd lie if I say I'm not interested. But let me get a hold in this industry and learn as much as possible before I take the big step.

Do you think that as an actor you must also take responsibility of what is being shown on TV?
Zain - Absolutely! My first show 'Kaisi Yeh...', a youth show dealt with some very sensitive issues. One wants to see variations on TV and hence a lot of these shows have started dealing with bold subjects. But having said that, we made sure that, the topic and specific scenes were shot in a sensitive manner.
