Part Two
Twinkle returned home feeling both relieved and fatigued. Yes she finally got a lawyer that would fight her case.
However would Kunj be able to deal with Yuvraj and everything else she still had to tell him?
She took a deep breath and leaned against door.
Twinkle had moved away from her family after things went sour with Yuvraj. There was a risk for her to be living alone but she could not keep them involved as the case would be blown up due to media exposure in the coming days.
Her sister Mahi sometimes came to meet her but Twinkle told her to be safe and stick to taking care of their parents in Jalandar.
Twinkle freshened up and got her dinner ready. She had gone to buy rations with the small amount of funds she had. She froze half the veggies in plastic wrap.
She stood back after putting everything away.
Her world was falling apart. She looked at the knife thinking she could end all of this.
She could be at peace and so could her family.
Moment of weakness overwhelmed her. She took the knife and slit her wrist.
For some odd reason, Kunj's face flashed before her as she blacked out.
Then she regretted her actions for she had really found a genuine person.
"Can you cook? Then we can surely work something out," he had said with a smile.
"What have I done? Maybe I could have had my life again," Twinkle thought before the darkness overtook her.
Kunj was fishing in his bag for some files when he came across a bracelet stuck in one of the files.
He paused trying to think of the female clients he had that day or the day before.
Then he realized this was probably Twinkle's.
He searched for her address. He located it and headed off to return it to her.
Cherry saw Kunj leaving the house in a rush.
"Itni jaldi mein kahan jara hai?," he muttered.
Kunj arrived at the small apartment. He peered around and knocked on the door.
There was no answer.
As he turned to go, he felt a strange feeling of dread in his chest.
He hadn't had this feeling since he sat for his bar exams five years ago. Something didn't feel right.
He pushed on the door, it gave way. He would later realize it was never very sturdy in the first place.
He entered the kitchen and was stunned to see Twinkle on the floor unconscious.
When he knelt down besides her and saw the blood surrounding her arm.
She was still bleeding.
He had to stop the bleeding. She needed to live, to fight against Yuvraj Luthra.
" Twinkle please don't give up. You should have given me a chance," Kunj muttered as he finally found something to apply the pressure on her wound.
With Cherry's help Kunj got Twinkle to the hospital in time.
Twinkle was given a unit of blood and then she slowly gained consciousness.
She opened her eyes to see Kunj.
He looked like he hadn't slept all night.
How had he found her in time she did not know but she wanted to thank him.
He glared at her when he realized she was awake now.
"Yeh kya kiya tune?," he asked.
He barely knew her but was asking her this as if he knew her whole life.
" I know I have no rights as family member or friend, but as your lawyer, was your belief in me so weak that before I could take any steps , you did this to yourself?"
Twinkle shook her head.
" I know I was wrong. It was a moment of weakness and I regretted my actions immediately, I swear," she stammered.
Kunj gave her a considerate look.
" I am going to have Sheila add another clause to our agreement on Monday," he told her sternly.
Twinkle gazed at him puzzled.
"Kaisa clause?," she asked.
"That you will not attempt suicide while I am your lawyer and you will not stay alone while this case is going on," Kunj declared.
"Lekin.."
"No lekin. I have already called your sister," he stated.
"Please stop her from coming Mr. Sarna!," she pleaded.
Kunj raised his eyebrows.
"Kyun?," he asked.
"He will harm her," Twinkle stammered .
