This song played today during the noodle scene. It's from the movie Tanu Weds Manu Returns which is an exceptional movie because of it's actors but also the subject matter. It shows that marriage is different from initial dating and life long companionship is not always grins and giggles. Anyways, it was a beautiful song for a symbolic moment and revelation. The thoughts vocalized during the scene were a milestone.

I'm going to be brief for the sake of length. Overall, this song speaks of promises and future hopes. In the movie, the leads are going through a rough patch in their marriage hence this songs works as to how they will rectify things. With Kunj and Twinkle, they have had rough patches but they are entering a new world of affection hence these promises and hopes make sense. This whole song is sung from a male view and that makes this another great choice because these days we are getting more and more of Kunj's thoughts. Furthermore, it was played during the "Noodle Test" to see if their relationship would last...this song is about that.

O Sathi Mere... Haathon Mein Tere...
O my beloved, in Your hands

Haathon Ki Ab Girha De Aise Ke Toote Ye Kabhi Na
Tie me like a knot in Your hands in such a way that it never breaks

I connected this portion to how Kunj is feeling right now. From his actions thus far, it seems as if he is aware of his feelings for Twinkle but wants to know her stance on the marriage hence he suggests the game. I think these lines signify that all the reins lie in Twinkle's hands now yet he hopes she chooses to make their marriage true by reciprocating. I think the whole jealousy makes a good case for this.

Chal Na Kahin Sapno Ke Gaaon Re
Let's go to a village of dreams

Chhoote Na Phir Bhi Dharti Se Paaon Re
Where our feet are still firmly attached to the grounds

Aag Aur Paani Se Phir Likh De Woh Waade Share
With fire and water, let's rewrite all those vows

Saath Hi Mein Roye Hanse Sang Dhoop Chhaaon Re
We'll laugh and cry together, we'll pass times of sunlight and shade together

I like these lines because of the juxtaposition of opposites. To me, it highlights that every relationship has highs and lows but the point is to stay united. For Twinkle and Kunj, I think this indicates the need to reframe the skeleton of their relationship. They need to "rewrite their vows" to start their marriage over having gone through all they have. I think the first two lines bring in the distinct personalities of Twinkle and Kunj. Twinkle is a dreamer hence the first line says "village of dreams" but Kunj is willing to compromise so their live is still grounded.

Hum Jo Bikhre Kabhi, Tumse Jo Hum Udhde Kahin
If I ever scatter, if I ever tear away from You

Bun Lena Phir Se Har Dhaaga...
Then please weave each thread once again

Hum Toh Adhoore Yahaan, Tum Bhi Magar Poore Kahaan
I'm incomplete here, and You're also not complete

Karle Adhoorepan Ko Hum Aadha
Let's split this incompleteness into half

Jo Bhi Humara Ho, Meetha Ho Ya Khaara Ho
Whatever is ours, sweet or sour

Aao Na Kar Le Hum Sab Saajha...
Let's bring it all together

The third line was resonated in the little thought reveal they did during the noodle scene. They both need each other. We saw this on Kunj's end when he expressed it but on Twinkle's too when she said she misses Kunj during the Purvi reveal episode. The last two lines make me think of the personality flaws they have and the potential bitter histories but regardless they should work together and be united.

Gehri Andheri Ya Ujle Savere Ho
May it be pitch dark or a glowing morning

Ye Saare Toh Hain Tum Se Hi
Everything exists just because of You

Aankh Mein Teri Meri Utre Ik Saath Hi
May they all enter our eyes simultaneously

Din Ho Patjhar Ki Raatein Ya Phoolon Ke
Days of autumn or the nights of spring

Kitna Bhi Hum Roothe Par Baat Karein Sathi
Even if we are upset from each other, we shall always keep talking, O partner

Mausam Mausam Yunhi Saath Chalenge Hum
From one season to another, we'll walk together

Lambi In Raahon Mein Ya Phoonk Ke Paahon Se
We'll walk through all these long roads with our feet

Rakhenge Paaon Pe Tere Marham
I'll apply ointment on Your feet (whenever You get hurt)
Aao Miley Hum Iss Tarah, Aaye Na Kabhi Virah
Let's meet in such a way that may there never be any separation

Hum Se Main Na Ho Riha...
May we never become You or me
(May we never be separated)

Humdum Tum Hi Ho, Hardam Tum Hi Ho
You are my partner, may You remain with me forever

Ab Hai Yehi Duaa...
This is my only prayer

Sathi Re Umr Ke Salvat Bhi Saath Tahenge Hum
O my partner, we'll grow old together

God Mein Leke Sar Se Chaandi Chunenge Hum
I'll keep Your head in my lap and pick out grey hair

Marna Mar Saathi Barsaat Jeeyenge Hum
We'll die together, my beloved, we'll live all these monsoons together

These last to stanzas speak of the longevity of a relationship despite hurdles and taking care of each other. Twinkle and Kunj will definitely have hurdles in their relationship due to their personality differences but the key problem for them is lack of communication so the line about being upset but still talking fits well. They are starting over so this is something they need to work on. The last line of the second to last line about the ointment just reminds me that Kunj is here to stay and truly take care of Twinkle. The last stanza speaks of way into the future but it made me a bit sad because I can't even think of this show ending.

I tried to be brief...not sure if it worked. Either way, let me know what you guys think.

Wonderful post once again 👏
This was the first time I heard the song (yet to watch Tanu weds Manu Returns) and I really liked it and reading your post now increased my liking (seeing as I'll associate it with TwiNj now before anything else) 😆

Please keep these analyses coming, they are an absolute pleasure to read
