PART 3
"Welcome welcome!" Maami says as she ushers in Kunj and Manmeet. "Come in. Arrey Babli, take their coats darling," She told her youngest daughter.
The tiny girl Babli, shyly took their coats and ran upstairs with them, but Twinkle stops her at the top.
"Batao na, kaise dikhta hai woh?" Twinkle smiled, fully aware of how Babli would describe Kunj, the same Kunj she was destined to spend the rest of her life with.
"Well there's two guys, one has blueish eyes, and he"" Babli starts.
"Wait"don't tell me about him, tell me about the other guy," Twinkle smiles.
"The other guy has chocolate coloured eyes"oh di, I could drown in them," Babli smiles, holding her heart.
"Ab chup kar!" Twinkle laughs. "Tell me more,"
"He has a light stubble on his face, but it definitely adds to his appeal," Babli smirks.
"What's he wearing?" Twinkle prods.
"Hmm...I think that's enough information for you di. You can wait till you go down!" Babli grins as she walks into the guest room with the coats.
"It seemed like Babli was describing the same Kunj I met on the plane, but I have to be sure," Twinkle smiled as she fixed her earrings.
"Twinkle puttar, neeche aao," her Maami called up the stairs.
Babli takes hold of Twinkle's arm and takes her down. The moment she turns the corner into the living room, both the men opposite her stood up, one with the face of immense happiness, and then there was Kunj, whose face she had assumed would be grinning, was turned down in a sorrowful way.
"Was he not happy with this alliance?" Twinkle didn't even want to think that was a possibility. She dutifully sat down across them, and folded her hands in Namaste, still holding eye contact with Kunj, rather than the other man next to him. There was something in his eyes, she could tell he wasn't happy with this, if he wasn't though, he should just get up and leave now. Twinkle finally breaks eye contact and looks down at her hands.
"This is Twinkle, Twinkle Taneja, aur Twinkle beta, this is Mr. Kunj Sarna, and this is Mr. Manmeet Sarna." Pinni Maami pointed out.
"Namaste," Twinkle croaked out, without looking at either of them.

Kunj couldn't believe what had just happened; it seemed that in a fraction of a second, his entire world turned upside down. Twinkle Taneja was the same Twinkle Taneja his cousin Manmeet was supposed to marry. "How is this even possible?" Kunj couldn't fathom the turn of events in his head. The girl he had grown to admire was to be his cousin's. Why was god so cruel? Every person he had loved, be it his parents or younger brother, through some unfortunate event, were always taken away from him. His parents through the car accident, and his brother Yuvraaj because he had thought Kunj caused the accident. Now Twinkle was included in that list. And what made him feel worse was that Twinkle was grinning happily when she came down, meaning she WAS happy with this whole engagement. "All girls"are the same," Kunj shook his head.
As Twinkle's Maami went through all of Twinkle's likes and dislikes, Kunj couldn't stand it. These were things Twinkle had personally told him. What gave Manmeet the right to learn all these things? Then he stopped himself. This was Manmeet he was talking about, his cousin. He had a new right over Twinkle that Kunj couldn't even dream of acquiring. Kunj silently just took a deep breath, and tried to pay attention to conversation, but every two seconds he was drawn to Twinkle. If he had thought she looked beautiful on the plane in a simple pink salwaar, she certainly looked more gorgeous in this fuchsia pink colored lengha she had on. But there was no point admiring her beauty now, she belonged to his cousin, his brother whom he loved. But the way Twinkle was smiling just broke his heart into a million pieces.

Twinkle couldn't understand why Kunj wasn't smiling. Wasn't he happy, at least she was someone he knew, and he had offered to help with Mahi, so it wasn't that he didn't want to spend his money on her, so then what was it that made him look so furious with her?
"So Twinkle, are you okay with the rishta?" Her Maami asked.
Twinkle slowly looked up at Kunj and saw him looking away from her, but Manmeet was staring intently at her. "Ji," She muttered.
She noticed Kunj's hands ball into fists at his side. Should she have said no? "He's probably stuck in a hard place now, he doesn't want to marry me, so he'll want to say no, but he probably thought I'd say no."
"And Manmeet, what do you have to say?" Her Maami asked him.
In one second, Twinkle's world was pulled away from her. Manmeet? Why was Pinni Maami asking him? Shouldn't she ask Kunj? Wasn't he the one she was getting engaged to?
"I'd be lucky to marry someone like Twinkle," Manmeet said smiling at her. Then he turned to Kunj. "Don't you think?"
Kunj quickly looked up at Twinkle and then looked at Manmeet. "Yeah"any guy who'd get Twinkle's love would be the luckiest guy ever."
Twinkle looked on helplessly as everyone around her helped her up and placed her next to Manmeet for the ring ceremony. Her Maami held out a ring for her to place on Manmeet's finger. And then she noticed Kunj take out the ring for Manmeet. Slowly with her trembling fingers, Twinkle placed the thick band on Manmeet's finger, while sneaking glances at a very angry Kunj. Finally when it was time for Manmeet to place his ring on Twinkle's finger, Twinkle couldn't bring herself to lift her hand, till finally her Maami outstretched her hand to Manmeet, and he claimed her with one ring.
Kunj and Twinkle kept sneaking glances at each other, while everyone was applauding and through their own silence, they knew how the other one was feeling. What would happen now?
