Here we have Twinkle who only sees her loves pain, her 'love' who threatens to chop her finger off ?!? What was that? And then after all that she DEFENDS Yuvi's actions to Kunj and ON TOP of that shows KUNJ ATTITUDE...for literally nothing!

These narrow-minded cringe worthy female leads in these soap operas are OTT and need to stop being written LIKE DAMN 😆

Lovely post dear and so true...

When ever they portray a young girl in love..they show her to be completely blind or completely submissive and easily led...

And on the other hand the Hero...is Perfection Personified...

Twinkle character is truly irritating me first because of her taking and accepting violence from Yuvi her so called love and secondly because she keeps blaming Kunj for all that is wrong with her own BF and his behaviour and messes that they are making...

The other thing is does she really even love or respect her family...especially her mother...who she can so easily lie to and use and abuse her mother's trust in her so blatantly...

Sigh...for once why cant they show a young lady in love who has not lost her brains...integrity...self respect...individuality and personality

Thanks. I was watching that scene and I was thinking okay this would have been cute and romantic in my head when I was 15-16, but I'm 22 now and that shit was not cute. It just sends the wrong message to younger girls who watch the show.

I agree, how do you love and respect this boy ( who does not even love you) for your mother who raise you!!! What does that teach young girls?

They never show a head-strong girl, if they do, she's a "bitch" or evil. Look at DD in Jamai Raja. It's nonsensical. Hopefully she smartens up.

See, this is the major problem that I have with Twinkle and am not buying her notion of "true love". A love that dishonors, disrespects not just you, but people that you care about, is not love at all. I am getting fed up on Twinkle constantly defending Yuvi and his abusive ways and instead insulting Kunj who is in the right. Raised by an abusive father, Kunj recognizes Yuvi to be doing the same with Twinkle and does not abide by it. But there is so little he can do when he does not even have the authority to call himself Twinkle's friend.

I understand Kunj and Yuvi are deliberately being set up as polar opposites to make the audience understand who is clearly the correct choice for Twinkle. But there is a limit to this set-up. There are some things that I can allow Twinkle to slide, but when it comes to blatant physical abuse? No. That's when she needs to take a firm stand and tell Yuvi once and after all that she won't tolerate this type of nonsense from him. If he truly loves her, then he needs to learn how to respect her first.

So well said!👏 I'm glad so many of you have the same sentiment as I do. And yes Yuvi's character is only the way it is to project the possibility of Twinj, but still, the things he does should not be social acceptable! Especially when the show airs in a culture unfortunately notorious for domestic abuse, as sad as it is.

And yes I hope Twinkle smartens up and does learn to respect herself before "falling in love" again.

@Bolly*_Crazed - I agree with you and it all had to do with maturity. Similar to you, there were things back when I was a teenager that I had thought were complete romantic. But when I look back at them, it's anything but. As we grow up and face certain situations and undergo particular experiences our level of maturity increases. Twinkle's hasn't as she has been spoiled and protected from the evils of the world. Unlike Yuvi, who has been brought up with hate a anger (hence his violent tendencies) and Kunj, who has been brought up by an abusive father (hence his protective behavior); Twinkle has been brought up with immense love and care. She is living in a fairytale where she is the damsel in distress that can only be saved by constantly proving her love. She is in love with the idea of love, but she hasn't understood love at all.

Babaji also does not want her to be with Yuvi

I loved the fact how she use to stand up to yuvi and refused to tolerate his shit. But then she started crying and letting yuvi be abusive towards her. Don't know why such sudden change in twinkle.
Any person should never dumb themselves down just to make their loved ones happy!

I wouldn't blame her for not seeing Babaji's signs. It is not easy for one to understand the divine ways when we are caught up in a whirlwind of emotions. During such times we over analyze everything and tend to easily misinterpret matters and make things worse.

As viewers, we can see the signs clearly, but as people actually living out those scenarios, the individual characters can't.

But yes, she needs to stop being a doormat and start speaking up for herself. Others can only do so much for her before they too give up on her.

I don't understand this change either. I mean, both Yuvi and Twinkle seem to have taken a drastic change in their characters which really doesn't make any sense? I mean if they were to always be like this then I don't think it was executed all too well.
