Twinkle pushed Kunj to the middle of the room and locked the door. Turning around she noticed the exasperated look on his face. Her lips pressed into a straight line as she saw him roll his eyes. She was not in the mood to play games right now.
Marching up to him, she turned him around so that he was facing her.
"Oh hello, who do you think you are rolling your eyes at me, huh?" She asked. "I'm the only one who can show you attitude." She pointed at herself. "And just what was that downstairs? You were supposed to break off the wedding!"
"And that's exactly what I was doing. But it was you who turned it around and made it into a spectacle." Kunj said pointing accusingly at her. "I don't want a simple wedding, I want a wedding that's grand and lavish. A wedding that everyone will remember." He mimicked her speaking in a high pitched voice.
"How dare you make fun of me?" She asked, taking one step closer to him. "And what you did downstairs wasn't breaking off the marriage. It was making me into a villain. All you had to say was that you don't want the wedding to happen. That's. It. Why did you have to say that I don't want it to happen?"
"Because you don't!" He defended.
"And neither do you, you idiot!" She yelled at him. "Everything was going great until you ruined it!" She gritted out, hitting him.
Kunj brought his arms up to defend himself.
"Twinkle stop it!" He shouted.
"No! You're the one who was supposed to stop the wedding!" She said, continuing to hit him.
Kunj started to take a few steps back to get away from Twinkle but it was no use. She would simply continue to follow him and hit him with full force.
Reaching back, Kunj picked up a soft, white pillow and brought it out before him. He would use it to successfully block her attacks until she had started using her legs to kick him. As a way to get her to stop, he swung the pillow, hitting her on her face.
She stood in shock, her hair covering her face, her mouth open in an "O".
"You hit me?" She asked accusingly. "How dare you!"
Kunj knowing that he got himself into trouble, held one hand with the pillow in front of him and the other out in surrender. But it was of no use as Twinkle picked up the other pillow from the bed and began hitting him with it.
"Twinkle, just stop it!" Kunj shouted.
When she wouldn't heed, he too started hitting her. Due to the difference between their height, she was only able to hit his chest while he was able to mess up her hair. With one swing, he had hit her really hard making the pillow rip in two. All the material inside fell on her, making some pieces of cotton get stuck in her hair and fall in her mouth.
The more she spat the cotton out, more would fall in as the white material was hanging thickly in the air between them.
Kunj not having a weapon in his hand and wanting truce, tried helping her by removing the cotton from her hair. Thinking he was about to hit her, Twinkle swatted his hand away.
"Tum ek ladki par haath uthaoge?" She was furious.
She kicked him in the shin, making him bend down and clutch his knee. Taking the opportunity, she discarded the pillow and began hitting him on his back with her fists. Hearing him yelp gave her some solace but fed her fire more.
Kunj, getting highly fed up, stood up and grabbed her by her hands.
"That's enough now Twinkle." He said, struggling to keep her hands still.
He turned her around and pinned her hands behind her back.
"Let me go!" She shouted over her shoulder.
"Not until you stop acting like a jungli billi." He said.
Getting even more infuriated with the insult, Twinkle elbowed him in the stomach. His hold on her went loose, giving Twinkle the opportunity to break away from him. Turning around, she pushed him but at the last moment Kunj grabbed her arms and pulled her down with him.
Falling back onto the bed, Twinkle landed on top of him, with her head buried in his chest. Grabbing hold of his blue leather jacket, she had her eyes closed shut. Kunj, on the other hand, had transferred his hands to her waist during the fall.
Feeling like she was safe, Twinkle opened her eyes and raised her head slightly. Her hair shielded her surrounding, making her only see a flat chest covered in a pure white shirt. Tilting her head up slightly, she saw Kunj staring down at her. The dark brown orbs were softer compared to the initial gaze she was used to.
Twinkle felt a weird sense of calm as her chest rose in rhythm with his. Both inhaling and exhaling in unison, it brought an unexpected peace.
Kunj's fingers tightened around her waist as Twinkle rose further so that her face was directly above his. Her loose hair were falling all around her, making it hard for him to see her face clearly. Kunj's hand rose up to clip her hair behind her ear.
Twinkle was only able to blink slowly as she was so lost in his eyes. She had felt like falling into them, drowning herself into the depth of those orbs and losing herself in the intensity. She hadn't realized how close she had gotten to him.
Kunj's breathing had hitched and his fingers were digging deep into Twinkle's flesh.
She gasped as she felt the pain hitting her in numerous ways.
But the pain passed away just as fast as it came as she felt a strange tingling travel through her body. As she gasped again, her lips brushed slightly with his, sending them both into a sense of euphoria.
With every minute movement of her trembling lips, she brushed them with Kunj's still ones.
He blinked and gulped as he felt something stirring inside of him.
He was about to raise his hand towards his face when he had heard someone shouting outside.
Twinkle and Kunj both broke out of their haze and looked away. The loss of eye contact, sent them both rushing to break away from each other's hold.
Twinkle got off of him and sat on the bed, fixing her top and her hair. Kunj sat up straight, stiff, not wanting to make any sudden movements. He was still lost in what had happened and wasn't able to completely catch up.
"We need to break the marriage." Twinkle spoke, hesitatingly. "You go speak with your dad and I'll speak with my mom. In private." She didn't dare to meet his eyes.
"Hmm." He replied in affirmative.
They both sat there, quietly, with neither one wanting to move first.
