I never thought we'd get a lead more wooden than Nikita Sharma of Do Dil Ek Jaan, but I think we've finally found the girl who makes Nikita look like Robert de Niro.
I really like Tashan-e-Ishq. It's the kind of harmless candy-floss entertainment that's perfect after a day of work, and all I really ask is a bunch of semi-decent actors and a plot that doesn't drag too much.
I love the rest of the casting - Zain does what he's expected to do and looks cute doing it, the mothers are perfectly cast and love that Deepika Amin makes her appearance as Kunj's long suffering mother.
But my god - couldn't they have cast someone better than Jasmine Bhasin for this? She's a cute girl but she cannot freaking act for nuts. In love scenes, she blinks her eyes with this dumb as rocks expression on her face. When she's required to be emotional she looks like she's been fed an entire katori of karele ki sabzi.
At least Nikita Sharma had the excuse of being completely new to acting. I can't believe this girl has already acted in a bunch of films and still manages to churn out such a sorry excuse of a performance.
