No matter how silly are her mannats, she is still a very good wife of jetha.
She feels so guilty when she sees jetha suffering. She is trying her best to make jetha comfortable. She too slept in the bedroom with no fan.She decided to sleep with him in the terrace. When jetha complained about mosquitoes, she tied the mosquito net.And finally when jetha returned home, she gave him wet shawl to cover so that he can sleep nicely.
She is indeed a good and caring wife.I wish she was not so superstitious.

She feels so guilty when she sees jetha suffering.😲😲
Really ? But she doesn't give up with it, does she ? Why all the mannats have to done by Jehta only ? Tappu is her son too. Why didn't she do it instead of Jetha ?

Daya always plays the 'guilty' card later which I hate to the core.

But I do agree to the fact that Jetha- Daya do make a good couple. We get what we deserve. An imperfect husband has to have an imperfect wife. That's how it works.

I feel daya's mom hates jetha just like sundar so she is using her daughter to trouble her son in law.She is fooling daya by saying that if u tell jetha to fulfill ur mannats,he will get punya. Then she starts telling her to make such weird mannats due to which jetha suffers a lot.And when she hears about his suffering over the phone, she enjoys it.
When daya's mom told jetha to stay in sweater without fan,i understood she is deliberately doing it to trouble jetha.
Till the end, daya will never understand her mother and her brother's real intentions and their hatred for jetha and will keep on harassing jetha like this.

@Shanak_fan You tried to see another side of her nature.Very nice post.Seeing it could not stop my self from commenting

And after subha's post I realised that Daya is used by her brother and mother. Not only this almost everybody uses her innocence for their benefits, right from her mom and sunder who she trusts blindly to her own son who once took 1,000 rupees from Daya giving excuse of stationary

Hate is such a strong word, Subha. Why would her mother and Sunder hate him, he is Daya's husband and has not ill treated her. So there is no reason for hate. Yes, they trouble him in many ways but then Jetha lets them do it. He is not a dumbo and can certainly stop them if he wants to. Instead he is just blaming his destiny.

As for Daya, I don't buy that she is being used by her brother and mother. Instead she is taking advantage of her husband's emotions. I agree with Debby's post as to why can't she herself keep the mannat ?

Well said aarti. I do agree with u.
Yes,jetha himself is responsible for all the situations in his life.He could have taught a lesson to his hypocrite father, wife, son and his in-laws but he doesn't. Ulta he blames his destiny.

And that's why even taarak doesn't help him in all these matters because he knows that jetha himself has to fight his own battle. Only he can stop all these tortures by his family.

If we broaden up Subha's point of view on Daya's mother then may be she doesn't hate him but is after all encouraging Sundar to con Jetha. Its more like 'Chalta hai to chalne do'

As per the story, Daya's father is a Sanyasi. Nevetheless, due to this, he had put his own family in acute poverty. Now that her daughter is marriedto a well settled man, she doesn't mind getting some benefits from him. Otherwise I cannot fathom how a award winning person who is said to be a social worker, who has enough knowledge about the world outside is so oblivion to her son's source of living ?

In a particular Rakshabandhan track, Sundar said how his childhood was full of miseries because he didn't have enough money. Jetha taunted if he is living a King's life now. Sundar had a double meaning dialogue here which meant "I am living a king's life all because you Jijaji."

In another track, Sundar brought tons of gifts for all the Gadas. A suitcase full of gifts for Tappu, Daya and Bapuji but the man of the house was given a pen.

In another track, his mother went for tirth yatra after inviting her daughter and her son- in- law at her house.

And it has happened a thousand times before. I have never heard a mannat is advised for another person. Mannat, as per our tradition ,is a very personal thing. Wives or Mother-in-laws aren't suppose to keep a mannat on behalf of their husband or son- in-laws respectively.

I don't think Jeevdayaben hates Jetha or his family but Daya is definitely being used by Sundar and she is only encouraging it to another level. She knows Daya has enough. It doesn't hurt if she gives some of it to her younger brother. If we think about it then its not that he takes the money from jetha and gives it back to Tappu or Daya some other way. He is a repeated offender when he says, ' Mian aapko baad me lauta dunga'. Interestingly, Daya never knows if the money was ever returned. Also, she hardly cares about it and every time he asks for money she pleads on behalf of her brother.
