He can remain as secretary even after doing a job.
I am saying all this because my dad was treasurer of our apartment for one year so I have an idea about their duties.
As I said, the cvs have limited knowledge about everything. 😆

Arey kya kaam nahi hota society mein karne ke liye. aaye din ke festivals, subah 5 baje society ki paani ki motor chalu karna, baat baat pe meetings bulana aur kurte ka collar pakad ke khud toh ekmev secreatary batana. 😆

I bet bhide is the only secreataty who is given up his career just to serve society. 😆

Yo jana...priya ko ya fir dilip sir ko ya kisi ko bhi bol kar kuchh benefit ni h...i remember a tweet by dilip sir where he answered a fan who had complained about the story...

Priya also replied someone by saying that...
"U r audience n u can defiantly comment n tell us if u not liking d show or our work...but m not working in this show any more... So I can't comment or help u in any ways... U can mail to d producer or writer/director of d show... As it is actors can't choose stories or take decision forhow many days it should go on... These r creative decisions taken by writers n producer..."

So actors cannot do anything.. nor they can go to producer for complaining...they are puppets...Like every human being they want to earn money n name so they act on what they get...

Oh yes!how did I forget about the parties.😆Har mahine yaha kuch na kuch party toh hoti hi rehti hai.😆

In that case bhide is the most busiest secretary of the whole world.😆

THe question should be,' what exactly was the purpose of having those degrees and certificates if the ultimate aim was to be a tuition teacher ?'

Or' What did Madhavi's parents see in Bhide considering he doesn't even have a proper job when he got married?'

Or ' How large is his living room that plays an important part in sustaining his livelihood.

My views are :

1. Let's not forget that this serial is based on original 'Duniya ne oondha chasma' which was written sometime back in 80s. At that time the tution classes were not very commercial. So taarak Mehta, the writer must have based his character of Bhide around someone who is a small time tution teacher. When Asit Modi adapted it for TV show, he started with those original characters without much change. Bhide was a character who is a honest secretary, good tution teacher and who is always on edge and is harassed by jethalal and family. So I think his character was right in beginning. Later as everyone changed to become mahaan, he too changed. Now he is freinds with Jethalal too.

2. Why do we want him to work for big commercial institution ? We all know how they work. Everything is so business like and commercial there. Good teachers are so rare nowadays. If Bhide wants to remain at home and give real education to kids, we should in fact praise him.

3. These days people take up teaching only for money or benefits or easy job or through reservations or if there is nothing else that they can do. But still there are people who would love to teach. Money making is not everyone's nature. Bhide is among those. Maybe he took those degrees to teach, should we be judgemental about someone's choice of career?

4. For maharashtrians education is very important ( i am not saying it is not for other communities, so please don't attack me for that) but back in 70s just the guy being educated was enough for parents from small towns to marry their daughters to such educated men because they were assumed to be cultured. House, money was secondary then. Now of coarse things have changed and everyone looks for materialistic things in a groom.

5. About being a secreatry , I think in a cooperative society, these positions have to be without salary. They are elected and can't take pay. I also know that no one wants to do this job as it is thankless. You get to hear every stupid complaint like neighbour's dog is barking, my neighbour puts kachra in my backyard, the garbage collector did not come etc and you are not even paid to do deal with it. You get calls at night for silly things. Why, even in GD soc., No one wants to take that post. So whenever Bhide threatens to resign, he is immediately calmed by everyone and is forced to stay as secretary.

About his work, he has to maintain bills of expenses, print announcement, take care of maintenance, give receipts, have audits, annual general meetings. Just collectin maintenance is a big headache if you have members like Jethalal. I also think they have high maintenance because they take it monthly instead of yearly. Obviously it has to, because they have so many parties. The treasure deposits cheques and releases payment. He does not approve payments.

Lastly, if Bhide complains about money, there is still one middle class sterotype left in TMKOC. All others are past that middle class stage with their lavish spending. Jethalal carries 10000s in his wallet everyday and talks only in lakhs. He doesn't fit in middle class anymore.

Do we really find TmKOC convincing any more, that's the question ?

I agree with u Aarti but I still feel he should have done some teaching job in a school.Nowadays there's lack of good and qualified teachers in schools.Most of these private schools employ people who are less qualified for these jobs.Such people don't teach well and because of them the students suffer. In this show,Bhide is a qualified teacher who earns his livelihood by teaching handful of children.Agreed he is simple and doesn't believe in being ambitious and earning lots of money but when he has the qualifications and interest in teaching,why doesn't he make use of his qualifications and teach in a school and improve his financial condition?He can work in a school in the day and conduct tuitions in the evening like many teachers do. Regarding the job of a secretary,our 'superman' champak and 'we are always right' mahila mandal hain na!

I agree anyone in real life will surely do that, but then this is a TV show. His making money that would bring drastic change in his character. His constant whining about money is one important aspect of this serial because that's what most of his clashes with Jethalal were about. The difference of thinking between a typical less educated vyapari and a educated teacher, at least it was in the beginning of the serial. So if he becomes financially sound then what will remain in his character? The fights between Jethalal and Bhide were extremely entertaining !

About the mahila mandal taking up secretarial job, yes they can do that. But the thought never enters in their mind. Becuase at the end of it, kaam karna padta hain na ! Koi doosra kar raha hai, to kyu responsibility lene ka? Again basic problem is no one wants to do this thankless, payless job because it is also a job where you are criticized for any action. If anyone lives in a society just think how many times someone might have cursed the secretary, ki kuch kaam nahi karta, sirf paise khata hain !
