No permission is required of original author...as far as i know production house has all the rights and can make any change...
And also the show is comletely different from original articles so they have already made lot of changes...
Tapu sena ko atleast full pant to de do yaar...

what i heard is its no where close to the original, the characters of popat lal, iyer, bhide , abdul does not exist in the original book...i read only theme is being taken from the original book about a society, they have their own writers who write the tracks..

then the story should have been started as starting in 1980...tab shayad baade nahi hote characters, i mean too say jaise jaise saal beet te jayenge... characters should also grow, u don't necessarily need leap for it...

yes the theme has been taken and the changes were made by the permission of the author accortding to shailesha loda. I think you missed that episode. Besides, the names of the character and the original writer remains intact so permission is necessary. thats how it works ahmad.
