Heyy shru...
I can't tell you how much i missed your writing..
Like you said, this story is indeed different from what you have written so far.. But also what I said, there can be no story of yours that I won't like..
And I loved this one too.. the whole concept of how she was imprisoned by her own family and how Sanskar finally set her free..
I know you are keeping quiet busy these days, but i also hope you keep making such appearances with your writing..
Come back soon..
Love,
Jessica..'-

Dearest Shru,
Oh I can't express how much I've missed your writings. This OS is fresh breath of air for us who were crazy fans of your writing. Aesthetically the story is great to read. Your ability of playing with words is a rare gift. You remind me of Vladimir Nabokov. The plots of his novels are usually very much disturbing, but the grip he has on the language... just mind blowing! I read first few lines of 'Lolita' and BAM! Like I'm in for whatever torcher you're going to do!

I read every lines for multiple times and tried to feel the emotions in between the lines. But Sanskar's characterisation moved me more than Swara. His pain, his protectiveness, the way he bare his heart to her, his yearning to be with her even if the wait is going to be never ending... this Sanskar is the same Sanskar we all know and loved. You didn't mention clearly what was Swara's final choice. As Nynu said it was open ended. I'd love to think Swara made choice to come out of her loveless marriage in holding her head(and ethics) high and choose her love.

This story reminds me of my own love story. My situation was just like Swara. Had a top rated established suitor on one side and my love who hadn't still finished his graduation. But I fought like tooth and nail with my parents. Result... It'll be 5 years of our marriage this April and my parents love him now!

Thanks for remembering me!

Love,
Dyuti

Amazing story..
No connection with the series what soever but very engaging..these type of situation is faced by almost every girl with or the other way in India..
I would like to imagine that Swara finally made her choice to be with Sanskar..
Beautiful concept..

Hey Piya x

Really good to find you guys here, despite not having sent any PMs:) Thank you so much for reading and even more so for liking this. Yes, I think the situation may unfortunately be rather common and I myself have had life experiences where I have thought of everyone else but myself and suffered for it. This was a very brief and possibly ineffective attempt to explore a little of that. I like the end you have visualised 😉- it was in some way fun to leave it open and let the reader imagine.

Lots of love to you x

Hey Jess,

Thank you so much sweetheart, both for this and the encouragement on Twitter. Some of you have always been so kind to me and since my hiatus this has actually kept me in some way connected:). I am very relieved at the reactions to this and I had kept my expectations on responses very low but am so happy you liked the concept and yes, the visualisation of the end the reader wants to see was something I looked forward to reading everyone's take on. I will try my best to come here whenever I can.

Much love xoxo

Hey Shru,
It's so good to see you back after such a long gap.

Coming to the story its so painful to see that girls still had to sacrifice their dreams, their life for the sake of the family. they are supposed to be the epitome of good character even when their husband is sleeping around with random girls.
In the societies like ours where the reputation of the family is judged by the helplessness and obedience of women of the family, it comes out all the more evident.
if you are a girl you have to follow certain rules if you are a girl you have to behave a certain way if you are a girl you have to like certain things. no matter how much you despise those norms set forth for girls you have to follow them if you wish to be a good daughter, wife sister or a mere human being.

Your portrayal of Swara is totally opposite to the person she has been portrayed in the serial we come up to love so immensely. She is a week girl (Sorry for the use of weak in the lack of better word) who don't want to fight. she has accepted whatever has been given to her for the respect of her parents, for fulfilling the social norms but that is the biggest contrast of this character be as it is never easy to give up on things for anyone that shows her strength.

This story is so apt for Indian society that I am astonished to know that you have written it for a totally different culture but then comes the realization that the situation more or less is same everywhere.

Sorry for such a long rant, it's mostly because I am able to relate to this story so much. it reminds me of the people around me.
Though they are not this much dictatorial but as you say Indian parents will always remain Indian parents, they have a different outlook to see the world.

Love,
Ria

Sorry dear..Had read it on the very first day but due to various reasons forgot to comment on it. You know how much I value you and your writings. Was thrilled abt the fact u were back in the forum. Its not the same any more with all talented writers being hidden somewhere...

About the story, I am sure you wanted it to have a tragic ending, din you? But you gave a choice for others like me to chose ours. Thank you dear ...You know what my take would be...It was beautiful, touching and disturbing at the same time. These days I am watching the old episodes @ 2 per day, reminiscing those glorious moments..So a story where they are separated was really disturbing but as I said there is always hope...

Please come more often to the forum...
.. hope my DK is all well.
Missing him
