The real Reason of TRP

Having my Exam tomorrow and I am sitting here typing this Post but couldn't control myself after yesterday. Read a few posts on some topics just to spend some free time and realized that everyone around seems to feel that the reason for the show's High TRP and Low TRP is either their favourite (For high) or other other couple(For low) ,I just never had studied TRP's numbers but only came to know about all this after coming on IF but then I had thoughts that why are people thinking about couples or a single person as a TRP gainer. All my friends reading this post , i would really like to say that if couples or a single person would have brought in TRP then youth shows would have had the highest TRP's of all times , well the best example are Sony shows with fresh couples , awesome storyline and lovely actors but what are their TRP's that their run time can easily tell , we on internet loving our actors don't even make 40% of the TRP's (Atleast according to me) , what makes the TRP are those sitting at home and watching the show with full excitement as to what would happen next and for them , a good show really doesn't mean , hero's bebasi , a good show means Hero's attitude , ego (Refer to 7:00 p.m. star plus for this and 7:30 p.m. colors) and throwing heroine's out...a good show doesn't mean two sisters happily working together for each other , it means two half sisters being blood thirsty enemies , one being the usual villian and other being the problme solver. When the viewers don't get it they change the channel especially when a character is ending in a show after 8 years of lachari in her life , what would happen next in that show matters more to the Indian Audience rather than to what extend a sister goes to help her sister re-unite with her husband so just a request , stop taking the name of TRP for to glorify your respective leads because if leads would have been mattered for theIndian Audience , some amazing shows would have never got closed even after their amazing storyline.
Can never forget that this show had stooped really low to gain TRP.

I second you girl . The other SP show you're referring, it was stupid but kind of mindless entertainer to watch sometimes.
SR was best when Ragini was at her evil best and Swasan fought tooth and nail to defend themselves. It was awesome to watch... After she turned good, show lost the spice... Teju was great with grey shades. They killed the potential so early..

Hey first I would start my post with lots of best wishes to my friend, piyali, who despite of her busy schedule made such a lovely post.
I completly agree with you piyali, that its not just the leads of the show who are the sole reason behind grabing high numbers but its a contribution of each and every member being involved in the show. I agree that leads are the face of a particular show, but that doesn't mean that the shows success or its failure lies on their part, but its the story plus the members whole-hearted contribution which makes a show hit or flop.
Earlier SR was not able to grab much eye-balls but eventually the twist leading to the leads marriage proved a turning point for the show. It managed to keep viewers hooked to the show with its intriguing storyline with some of the most amazing performances by its cast. But slowly the show got gripped in the hands of negativity and makers weren't able to present something interesting. Even the cast gave its best, still they failed to keep themselves up when it comes to numbers. I have followed SR from its start, and it started on a very good note with a fresh storyline and it was going well until ragini's truth got exposed and the show started going downhill. The reason behind is the makers just couldn't present a better track after it and ultimaltely viewers lost their interest which lead to its end in just two years.
The show has got a huge potential and it could have managed to pull off a few more years, but it was destroyed completly by some stupid writings.
So blaming a couple or glorifying the other for gain or loss in trps is not justifiable. Since they are too a part of the show and the whole story revoles around them, its in the hands of the makers how brillinatly they present in on-screen.

thanks alot Siya dii for the wishes , completely agree with you , me too followed the show in its starting month due to my march breaks , then had my schools so coudln't take out time to watch it but yes , Ii completely agree the after exposing Ragini the storyline could have been much better than what was presented , loved your words , kind of what I couldn't say is wholly said by you , again thanks a lot for the wishes , will surely try to be back before the shows end , God Bless you , Love you...be happy...😃

If you see TRP toppers only shows which are senseless unrealistic or too much melodramatic are successful. unfortunately shows like Naagin, sasural Simar ka are watched by general audiences. SR too got successful when simple girl like Ragini was turned negative. they do drift from orginal concept for TRP. Shakti is supposed to be about kinnars but the lead doesn't look like kinnar & now from whatever promos or clips i have seen it looks like a normal love story. Plain simple love stories like Swasan loose charm with general audience soon.
