CHAPTER 28

Dear Bro,
At first I'm sorry to leave like this, that too without telling you anything. You'll be worried about me, I know that. But I couldn't do better, believe me. Everyone is trying to decide what would be best for me, where I should be staying, which job I should do. I'm fed up with you people's overbearing concern. I can't take it anymore, doing absolutely nothing.

I'm leaving for my new workplace. I hope you don't have to be tensed for me anymore. May you find strength to bear my absence.
Be happy.
With love,
Shona.
P.S. Take care of mom and yourself.

Sargam read the letter for the umpteenth time. Still he couldn't but wipe the streaming tear from his face. He was not being able to face his mom. How could he? He was the reason for Swara, his kiddo was not with them. He snatched her from a shielded cocoon of love. He acted like an overprotective douchebag and left his sister to lead suffocated life.

Sharmistha's tear filled eyes were haunting him. He felt his shoulders getting slumped when his mother's soulless voice echoed in his ears. "If I don't see my Shona again, if Sanskar can't reach fast enough, then I swear. I would forget I've ever had a son, Mr Sargam Bose."

Untoward thoughts were plaguing his mind. He prayed for strength. Not for himself to bear her absence, he wouldn't dream that in his biggest nightmare. Like a selfish creature he wished the success of a person for his own benefit, from whom once he had ripped away his life.

==============================

" Goodbye, you bloody son of a bitch!"

"Stop!" Mystique's shrill voice did little good in stopping Sanskar from turning into a cold blooded murderer. "Jesus! She got back from dead!" These words were enough to loosen his grip at last.

"You stupid bimbo, she never died in the first place." Falcon's condescending remark set the blonde Black wolf on blaze. But to Sanskar that one assurance was elixir for his bleeding and battered soul which he had perceived as perished already. Now he was alive again. His reason of existence had brought him back from death.

There Mystique still was on defensive mode. "I swear there was no pulse. Even now it's missing!"

"That's tendon, dumb head! You're supposed to check my radial artery." Swara croaked as she filled her lungs with extra effort. Her chest rose and dipped violently, her nostrils filled with a pheromone that she knew too well. "Here, that's my pulse. Don't forget next time."

Sanskar couldn't be more relieved. He laughed out loud. Even in this state she was teaching someone how to check pulse. His Nymph always had been crazy.
But that grin wiped out on the very best moment. She was still in their clutch and Mystique handed her to Falcon, who shoved his Colt inside her mouth.

"So Mr Loving Hubby, why don't you leave my friend?" He smirked as Sanskar obliged to that demand like a cornered rat. "How many dirty little secrets do you possess? Enlighten us, Mr Oberoi. That was the name you had stolen, right? So let's start with introduction. Who are you, Mister?"

The man in question inhaled a generous bout of air and reverted. "Dr Sanskar Singh, an anesthesiologist. They told me to change my name for security purpose."

***********************************

Once upon a time, when she thought he might be hers, she had offered her a wish as prayer, she wished her Sun to rise and shine forever. How could she accept herself being the sole reason of not keeping that wish alive, being the reason of his eclipse. And that notion was worse than death.

"Stop moving you damn foolish girl!" Falcon hissed in annoyance. "Mr Singh, your wife is making it tough for us. Don't blame if I pull the trigger right now."

Tony snatched her from his hold. "Leave her to me. This babe desperately needs some tough love." He dragged her against her vehement protest, bent her body over the wooden table on the corner and grabbed a knife.

"Please Swara, stop it! Why can't you trust your Sanskar for once?" Sanskar screamed out of desperation. He pleaded with Falcon. "She won't repeat that, but please don't do anything to her. I'll give you every tiny detail."

And then he weaved a brand new tale about how some special intelligence people had contacted him before that fateful day of plane hijack. They asked Sanskar to accompany his fianc as they felt he could protect themselves as he had been an ace member of an underground fight club once. At the same time he was supposed to collect informations about Black Wolves and their den.

Falcon' s face went through a series of changes as he tried to contrive what he had heard. "So you had been spying on us, right. You bl**dy swine."

And without any warning he punched hard on his guts, the man who was probably one the best agents in Interpol. Yet his love for her had coerced him to be passive, fear for her safety had paralyzed his limbs.

"Sanskar!" now it was Swara's turn to feel the agony. In front of her eyes that smoky grey eyed demon was beating him black and blue. Sanskar's face was contorted with unendurable ache yet he neither made a single wince nor he moved a muscle.

Swara couldn't take it anymore. To hell with the consequences. She eyed at the knife that was held above her neck and bit the hand of the beholder.

"Ahhh! You witch!" The blade of the knife landed just an inch away from her throat. Without wasting a moment she used her knee to strike him where it hurts the most, his crotch. She grabbed the knife and stabbed the so called mighty Tony Stark aka Ironman.

Sweet revenge indeed!

*************************************************

No longer than she freed herself Sanskar slipped into his combat mode effortlessly. He jumped while rotating his body in a smooth right angle. His right lower limb formed a 60 degree arc with the ground as he kicked the jaw of his opponent. At the same time his knuckle hit the left side of the chest and another hand twisted Falcon's wrist, leaving him devoid of arms. All these took mere twenty seconds to happen.

Sanskar was quick to grab the Colt lying on the ground whereas Mystique had drawn her own Beretta and targeted it at Swara. The next moment the blonde pseudo druggie was lying on the ground, with one bullet each piercing her shoulder and chest. Then he concentrated on his incapacitated enemy. The next prey of SSR was the intercontinental watcher, who was fortunate than his female associate. His body had those kind of wounds which were not meant to be fatal, one on his shoulder and another on the thigh. Not that Sanskar had any compassion towards the guy. But that leech had to kept alive for further interrogation. He knew way too much.

Swara stood like a zombie, she still had that sharp knife when Sanskar caught her wrist. "I killed him..." she whispered. "I'm a despicable killer."

"No, you are not. You have been a healer till date. Tonight you've turned into a saviour. My saviour. You've saved us." He tugged her hand hurriedly. "It's not safe here. Let's go."

*************************************

Sanskar left a sigh of relief as they were almost near the arched wooden pool. Swara was awfully silent and it aggrieved him. Of course she was disappointed with him, perhaps angry beyond limits.

But he still had a corner inside her broken heart, didn't he? He would mend her, he was not going to keep his emotions under wraps anymore. He would bare his soul, he would announce to the world that she was his inamorata, and he was willing to be hers.

"Stop right there." a rasp voice coming from their back compelled him to detour. There he was standing, the grey eyed demon, few feet away from them. His torso was covered with his own blood and the blood vessels of his sclera were more prominent than ever. He had Mystique's gun in his hand, which had its nozzle directed towards Swara.

"Did you think her one tiny weeny stab can kill me? In your dreams." He bent his neck on both sides and stretched. "But you have to pay for this, b***h!

"I won't let you to even touch her, let alone harming her. You have to get through over my dead body." In a swift stride Sanskar came in front of her, shielding her petite frame completely. He aimed the weapon on his hand towards his foe and flashed a wicked grin. "Or who knows. It will be your dead body."

"And you think I will stand idle? Okay fine." He pressed his finger on the trigger. "Gentlemen first it is."

BANG!

"Sanskar!!"

*******************************************

The druggies leaning against the railing stirred at the sound of first short and exchanged knowing glances. SSR needed their help.

"Look, SSR has swiped them clean." One of them played a live footage on his cell phone. The spy cam attached to the button on Sanskar's shirt had been capturing every minute detail since they had been there. They were suppossed to raid after five minutes or whenever they would have been given a signal. But SSR was already on his fire brand version. Smiling a bit that agent called Sargam. "Mr Bose, you can come here. Your sister is safe now."

After about fifteen minutes or so Sargam reached near the starting point of the pipeline bridge, only to witness the horrifying turns of the scenario. No, a terrible nightmare, where a wounded hyena was about shoot Shona in front of his eyes.

Then he watched the series of the events with bated breath, while running as first he could. The old wooden planks shrieked in protest, but he didn't pay any heed to them. He could see Sanskar was shielding Swara like a gallant knight. His caramel orbs were blazing in the flame of immeasurable love, his slightly tanned face was glowing in the rays of full moon. His fingers pressed onto the trigger, not caring about another one being aimed at his chest.

Suddenly two back to back shots lacerated the tranquillity of Mactaggart sanctuary. The interpol operative under the disguise of a drug addict rose like a spring. The Sig Pro 2009 in his hand lodged its content straight into the skull of Ironman, before incapacitating his hand with the first shot.

"Sanskar!"

Swara had not in the most sound state of mind that evening. The latest turn of event was the last nail on the coffin. She let out a heart wrenching scream and fainted.

****************************

Sanskar turned around at the nick of time and held her in his arms. He carried her near the car and sprinkled drops of water on her face. He found someone's footsteps following them and turned back only to find Sargam. He didn't know why but suddenly felt an unsurmountable urge to kill him.

"Are you happy now, Mr Bose. You wanted this kind of secured life of Shona, didn't you?" he taunted looking at the overprotective brother whose eyes yet was seemed to be reflecting all kind of concern he might have inside him. "Look what have you done to her."

Sargam casted his gaze towards the ground. He didn't know what to say. " I'm sorry. I truly am. I failed to realise we both love her. Perhaps yours is more potent and you can do anything for her protection, which I can't."

"Sorry? What would I do with this apology. Do you know what I had planned that night for us?" Sanskar was shouting at the top of his voice. "Why to blame only you? Even I acted like a loser. How could I come into your emotional blackmail. I should be punished for this. You made me destroy everything, Mr Sargam Bose. "

"Don't shoot him... Sanskar hatt jao yaha se..." Her sudden rants put a full stop to his outburst.

Both of the men came running to her. Sanskar placed her head on his lap. "Nymph, open your eyes. Look at me. Kuch nehi hua mujhko. Your Sanskar is all fit and fine." He tried to calm Swara like a mother did to her agitated baby. He kissed her forehead, not caring he was kissing a sister in front her possessive brother.

His touch seemed to do the trick. She opened her eyes and her gaze fall on his. As usual they mirrored the same intensity of ardour and care.

Suddenly some old memories scathed her like a burning coal that had been poked by a spoke of some words uttered by a man she loved. Her expressions changed all at once. She shoved him and rose from his lap. Her eyes were spitting fire. "Why have you come here, Mr SSR? Am I some kind of charity case for you? Leave. I don't have anything to do with you."

"Nymph!"

My pinky promises are turning white, will unres for all pending ones soon.

And I make up for the delay in unres for previous chapter. Surprisingly a short update but full of action. Swara alive, Sanskaar spinning stories, the near decimation of the Black Wolves (worth a few whistles) And good for Swara, she let her brother know that his love was actually suffocating her.👍🏼

But what surprised me was the presence of Sargam Bose, admittedly it would be easier for Swara and Sanskaar to have some of the misunderstandings cleared, but how did he get the clearance. Do not tell me he is also an undercover agent, his "protection" of his sister is even more obnoxious.

And I am amazed about the guns you have written, it is fantastic detailing.👏

So Swara did admit to herself that she loved him(those were her last words when she thought she was dying in the previous chapter) and is angry with him (not blaming her😳) . I really loved her angry outburst, though Sanskaar should do well to remember - "when someone stops getting angry on you, it is clear you have lost your importance in their life. Sometimes, anger is more than love" And seeing how very angry Swara is, Sanskaar should understand how much she loves him. And please, could you finally have him shout at her that he loves her, etc. etc. Does not matter if she forgives him, at least she should know that he loves her and also what an idiot Sargam is. Please.

love,
Nyna

PS - thank you for updating here in IF, that is twice for you, despite having only a few of us as readers and one very very tardy one (myself😳). Love you and Lucky for that.
