The Difference Between Step & Half Sisters...

Hello Folks,

Please correct me if I'm mistaken here peepsšŸ¤”, as throughout the show I keep hearing Swara and Ragini referred to as "Step" Sisters. In so far as I can discern though, Swara and Ragini have different mothers, but don't they actually share the same father, Shekhar Gadodia? So why is it that they are constantly portrayed as being un-related by blood?šŸ˜•

That would be a fact if BOTH of their parents were different. Those types of siblings are actually "step" siblings. However, when one parent is common between them, it means that they in fact ARE related by blood via the common parent's DNA, which makes them literally, "half" siblings.

So that being the case, it would mean Swara and Ragini, aren't "Step-Sisters", but actually are "Half-Sisters", because the DNA link between them comes from their father, Shekhar Gadodia, making them "half" in common with each other.

If I am wrong about their parentage guys, let me know though!āļø

Thanks Guys & Take Care One and All!!!šŸ˜Ž

Okay then folks, surely the difference must be known by the CV's, right? I'm sure they're educated and knowledgeable enough, since they do actually develop the storylines and progress them, right?
So please enlighten me peeps...

(I've not been raised in India, although my ethnicity is šŸ‘proudly, very much IndianšŸ‘, and while I am somewhat aware of my culture and background thanks to my parents, I'm really confusedšŸ˜• about the way that shows in general in India actually categorise blood relationships. I mean, this literally isn't the first show where I have heard such connections between siblings being referred to in this inaccurate way.)

...as I am really very curious as to why sibling relationships where they have only one parent, are always referred to as being Step-Siblings, having no blood relationship. Is it a question of there being no vocabulary...

(which once again I don't quite see, since I do speak the language, albeit not as fluently as those of you raised in India.)

...existing to define the relationship?

As far as I am aware, in India the family line is always Patriarchal, and not Matriarchal right, for that blood relation to be ignored (and even then, it still shouldn't really be ignored since DNA is obviously an undeniable scientifically proven factor that determines how actual blood relationships exist after all)?

Anyone able to clarify this for me?

Thanks in advance obviously, everyone.😊

Take Care One & All!!!
