Most of the shows peddle regressive shiz including those duppatta flying pink fluff series selling MCP'ness in the name of romance.
Either woman are supergirls or they are doormats.
Few strong realistic woman characters graced our screens once a while but usually it is feminism in extremes or severe dearth of self respect.
So yes I do agree with your points regarding Daadi, sujata and other pointers.
But I disagree with the housewife part.
what's wrong in being a housewife if that's what makes a woman happy? isn't that what feminism is all about. being you. doing what you want. if that is touching stars or making homes. it's all about choice. So if Swara wants to rule kitchen what's wrong in it?
and nothing wrong in being decked up either. so what AP is clad in nine yards her hypocrisy, double standards not withstanding she is a strong woman who went against her husband to bring her 'crazy' nephew back to home. that's strength. going against Ragini during Maalkin track, standing up for her self respect and family. she has got steel fibre in her being.
Clothes and profession don't make us progressive. our attitude does.
The woman in my family are one of the most strongest free thinking ones I have ever met. and they are housewives and love to deck up. Respect and love for them.

I don't have a problem with swara being a housewife, my problem is that either she a housewife or a musician, why?Ap agrees and nods everything that dp says except when it comes to her sons. Then her motherly instinct rise up. But otherwise all she does is agree. She went against ragini but when DP refused to leave the house she didn't stood up for her self respect. Besides her regressive thinking towards shomi pregnancy and kavya's n swara's clothes was irritating.

this serial challenges our minds when it comes to logic, sense and sensibility. totally agree on that part.
but truly regressive serial is that kumkum bhagya one. even IPK to some extent.
don't get me started on likes of uttaran and most of the colors serials. Sadly our serial has joined their ilk now.
