As many who know me are aware, I have been rather absent from the Forum as of late. Odd for someone who used to spend almost ALL spare time here, either on posts (own or those of others), or writing endless stories on my beloved OTP, SwaSan. That has been for a variety of reasons, not to be gone into here and now. However, I see from recent going ons that it seems the memory loss track is ending at Swaragini express speed which the makers and CVs only deploy when promising tracks are on, and never when mindless, dragging, kitchen politics or illogical rubbish are! Jay Ho!
To state I am disappointed with the way they played out the memory loss track is an understatement. I have silently read quite a few debates, and refrained from commenting as I will explain in a moment but basically, overall impressions- HUGE disappointment to what was my dream track. It started all so well and then all unraveled too quickly.
Not enough focus on SwaSan, endless mixing with totally USELESS PaRagini drama, intolerable scenes with Sahil, and simply unforgivably ignoring any real development of Swara or giving any meaningful POV from her- this is a 5 second summary; I could write a 500 page DK-sized story on it but won't. Kissan was a real breath of fresh air- he made me laugh when he came on till my stomach hurt, and I was all gooey-eyed thinking he will be the perfect bridge for SwaSan and we will have Swara's friendship with Kissan, paving way for some real heart v mind, Mills & Boons (in the nicest way) SwaSan drama/ romance at MM. But instead we got- a SR-level BJKT! Then we get a good episode where Swara opens up to Kissan and I think- FINALLY! Rather little and late but progress, this is what they needed to show all along, but oh well better late than never.
Then I wake up to a Twitter feed promising a slap! Pandemonium results and then it is followed by news the whole track is ending! Fan-Bloody-Tastic!! So it ends with a jungle scene where a rushed recreation of the Rajat scene is enacted and Swara faints and she will wake and they will all hug and its done? I am aware the new OLVs look promising BUT they are only a few scenes before the whole thing is wrapped up? That too in this totally galloping way? But forget that, if I thought she regains her memory and still there is something to play out, which deals with their aftermath, I would have not been so livid. But (and judging my segments only and news breaking all over so with health warning attached)- it seems the next tagline is about some pointless "tashan" between Swara and Ragini?! Are they serious? What is the point of this?
Leaving ALL the above aside, what has truly saddened me of late is the level of intolerance this track seems to have brewed in a Forum I adored and thrived on for constructive debate and discussion. If you don't like the track or any aspect of it, you are literally name called by folks? You are negative if you comment (and I like to think I always do so without bashing and constructively) on things you don't like or want to see play out differently? If you analyse a character you have shipped from the start and spent endless hours obsessing over madly (I include both Swara and Sanskaar- have forever been a SwaSan fan only!)- and explain politely something you didn't like in either or BOTH, you are "negative" and pelted with metaphorical stones?! I am not just talking about myself- I have been rather quiet mainly due to this, but have seen this all over in numerous guises. I personally have never felt more unwelcome on the Forum as after seeing some responses and the way so many sensible posts descend into meaningless wars, I find myself unwilling to share ANYTHING as it just gets twisted and then attacked!
I never thought I would make a post like this but I am truly saddened today. The track I so desperately waited for is ending so abruptly, it didn't show anything I really thought we all wanted to be shown, was mixed with totally pointless drama I can't imagine anyone's fan wanted and all we got were internal battles as people had (understandably) different views. The title says adieu to ML track and the more refers to the rest. I suppose I am wasting my time writing this but it was an unavoidable reflex. I am even on hold with a new AU story on the ML I planned out in brief some weeks ago but the motivation to write in such atmosphere is almost nil. I might feel differently, I might not. It's a crying shame to say goodbye to a track I so wanted without it having delivered, but more so to be seeing the loss of a great platform which used to allow respectful expression without judgment and as a result to great friends made here, many of whom I simply no longer see around!
Thank you all for having borne with my mad rantings and more and if you read this! PLEASE don't turn this to a totally divergent discussion about INDIVIDUAL characters and a fight on that basis. I also don't want over justification on why this track was great. If you liked it and it didn't disappoint you, that is great- am really happy for you. The above are my personal views and I hope I am entitled to express disappointment without being attacked for that. Anyone wanting to discuss, please do but without needless arguing. I am at work so may not be able to reply to all but will try. This is unashamedly a rambling rant and I hope I will be excused for that.
