Viji my dearest sis,
As the previous two chapters made a amazingly vivid portrayal on Sanskar Maheshwari, this one leaves nothing lacking in the perfect picture it offers on his better half. I'm just glad you decided to begin at the beginning the childhood, most of children would be wary of, still full of tiny moments or fragments of tiny moments where sunshine had been dazzlingly bright.
Thanks Saku. 🤗 🤗 Yes, I wanted to portray the growth and development of Swara's giving, empathetic nature, right from her early childhood.
I really admire this part of Shomi, she did do her best to be the only parent in her kid daughter's life, and had done well, to raise her as the strong willed and angelic human being she has become. But even she would not be able to shield the poor thing from every storm, and some are bound to leave scars.
Shomi did her very best as a single Mom of course. And Dida was a bedrock of support too. But there were definitely some taunts they could not shield Swara from; and certainly, Swara missed the warmth and comfort of a father's warm, stable, reassuring love.
I distinctly remember you touching upon this particular string of Swara's life in Colours of Love I guess? Where she reflects on the same points of her past life and gradually comes in terms with the feelings she's feeling for Sanskar? Here she already knows he is the counter part that fills all the gaps in her rather irregular life and is irrevocably in love with him. Still the reason why she almost worships him comes from the way he had given her something she had craved all her life for...genuine and unwavering love. A shade to run in to in any storm and a promise of forever. I can imagine what it might mean to someone with Swara's background and especially with Shekar Gadodia as their father. It just came out in a way that almost left me teary. God, such brilliant wording of emotions!⭐️
😊 Very touched that you remember that. Yes, I had explored a similar train of thought---though not identical---in Colors of Love. There, Swara was reflecting on her favorite color--Blue; the way its characteristics of permanence, eternity, depth and space so appealed to her. The Swara there was burnt badly by the spineless, weak kneed stances of Shekar and Lakshya, towards the women they claimed to love. She had therefore, become very war of love, lost faith in that emotion, as it were. Till, of course, Sanskaar comes into her life with his potent, intense and selfless adoration.
But here, while there are several similarities, the details a little different. The ideal, the symbol she had reflected on, was the symbol of marital love, fidelity and faith---the Sarus cranes in the zoo, which Dida and Shomi frequently took her to. The young Swara had craved that kind of bond between her parents; yearned for that pure a love for herself, and had felt completely blissful, enveloped in the warm cocoon of Sanskaar's love, his unconditional, deep adoration for her. 😳
Then Sanskar the confused.
Huh, he would try all he wants but he can't deny that she affects him. Stealing glance and justifying it to himself by saying that his eyes have a mind of their own...that was so very Sanskarish😆😳 Swara confessing their sleeping arrangements had me in a fit of laughter, I'm sure whatever Sanskar expected her to say...it was not that! I can almost imagine his look at this point and Swara's blush too.
😉 😳 That was very Sanskaar-ish all right. 😆 He certainly would reflect that his eyes and heart have a mind of their own, and just cannot be commanded to not gaze at Swara. 😉 And so happy that you enjoyed the description of their sleeping arrangements. 😆 Sanskaar had wanted, indirectly, to demand an explanation as to why he had been relegated to the couch---but he was in for a very pleasant shock. 😆
Okay, she is beautiful now is she Sanskar?😉 I just wish you would soon apply your mind and realize you don't have a bullet wound because she did not shoot you. But even in his doubtful state of mind, he cares a lot for her and the love deep within him is evident. This part was so subtly constructed, yet works like magic on the entire plot. The scene is so vivid as I said above you can almost see, these two, stealing glances and blushing or blurting out more than they wanted to say. A real SwaSan heaven.
Thanks Saku. I wanted to bring out that aspect---the fact that there is definitely some embarrassment in the air, since Sanskaar doesn't fully remember her as yet; and Swara knows she needs to tread carefully. But that undeniable connect between them is very much there---how could it not, they comoplete and complement each other after all. I got a thrill imagining and writing those scenarios of them stealing glances at each other, gazing for a longer time when they thought the other wasn't looking, and of course blushing when caught staring or being stared at. 😉
Ragini and Lakshya part. I usually skip them in fics I confess...not in yours but in all the others. Even my own ones I never proofread those paras😆😳 But this one was so masterful in a way. Not only did it grant a vision in to Ragini, but paved away for her possible complete redemption too. The way you brought out her thoughts, realizations and resolves, it felt almost like reading Ragini's mind. By Ragini I mean the one before they whitewashed her. It is too good dearest that I felt like cheering her on this time.
I wanted to show a positive, gritty Ragini here. One who is resolute on protecting her sister, and in a way, her husband too. And who definitely sees that as a chance to redeem herself, for all the missteps and downright evil plotting she had descended to in the past. As you know, I am fascinated by the angles, layers and shades in Ragini's nature. So happy that you loved this portrayal.
Now, it's done and I'm feeling nostalgic all of a sudden. This would finish in an update or two right? It makes me feel kind of empty to think that. But the excitement is too large to fight with. Do update soonest possible.
Thanks so much Saku. That means so very much to me. 🤗 Yes, a couple of updates more. Chapter 4 should be up Sunday, all going well. And Chapter 5 sometime in the course of the coming week.
Loads of love,
Saku
