Chapter 3:

"keethu come and cut the cake man!" Yuvraj exclaimed while staring at the cake

Kunj, twinkle, Karthik and Ragini burst out laughing while Mahi just rolled her eyes "Oye! Have some patience bhukkad"

Yuvraj just rolled his eyes "whatever"

Karthik burst out laughing and walked up to Ragini "you know I'm not gonna cut the cake alone"

Ragini looked at him and smiled "yea I know"

Karthik held her hand and took her towards the cake while the rest of the family gathered around them.

Mahi lit up the candles on the cake and moved aside so that Ragini and Karthik could sit there, Karthik held the knife with Ragini and blew out the candles while everyone sang "HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR KEETHU/ KARTHIK, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!"

Karthik first fed Ragini and then the rest, after all, the cake cutting all the elders and the youngsters sat in the living room except for laksh who went back to his room.

"so keethu bhaiya how did you like our surprise?" asked Mahi who was sitting on the floor in between Yuvraj's legs, who was sitting on the sofa.

"I loved it! Why wouldn't I love it, after all, my baby planned it for me" Karthik nudged Ragini who was also sitting on the floor leaning on leela's legs beside karthik who was leaning on his dads legs.

Ragini just rolled her eyes "also we organized a party for your birthday celebration tomorrow"

Kunj burst out laughging seeing yuvraj, mahi's and twinkle's excited face "guys its not gonna be like the party we used to throw at Canada"

Mahi whined "but why? Its keethu bhaiyas birthday so celebration to banta hai na?"

"yes, but the whole family is gonna be there" kunj tried to explain but got cut off by durga Prasad " beta if you want to throw parties like you used to back in Canada than we don't mind."

"really uncle? Thank you soo much!!" exclaimed a very excited mahi

Meanwhile in laksh's room:

Laksh was sitting on his bed and talking to himself "I can't believe you're here ragini, you came back to your laksh, I knew you would. I love you ragini and I honeslty can't wait to tell you how much I love you "

Laksh looked at the side table and saw the letter that ragini gave him, he opened it and took out a nicely folded paper which had a picture tucked into it. He took the picture out, it was of a little boy, I know this boy, he's di's nephew' he thought. He looked at the bottom of the picture and read his name out loud "Aditya Lakshya Maheshwari" at first laksh was shocked, he couldn't think he quickly opened the letter and read it out loud

"Dear papa,

My name is Aditya Lakshya Maheshwari and I am your son. I am 5 years old I'll turn 6 in a month! I know you are probably shocked that you have a son that you know nothing about, but I know everything about you, mama (Ragini) would tell me all about you, she also told me that you two don't live together anymore, but it's okay. I can't wait to meet you papa, I love you so much!

Love Adi (that is my nickname)"

Tears were streaming down laksh's eyes "I have a son" he whispered to himself he was so shocked yet so happy until it dawned on him that ragini hid this fact form him, she kept his son away from him. He angrily got up and went down stairs.

He saw his whole family talking and laughing he quietly made his was towards them and stood there.

Ragini who had been saying something to karthik saw laksh stading there with tears coming down his eyes while his eyes held mixture of emotions of happiness, sadness and anger. Oh how she just wanted to console him, but when she noticed that he was holding the letter she quickly stood up with a worried expression on her face he knows.' She thought. All eyes went towards ragini as she adruptly stood up.

"Laksh" was all ragini said while she made her way infornt of him

"How could you?" he aked with a calm voice, ragini looked around and saw that they had everyone's attention now and she could see the confusion written on their faces.

"laksh can we please not discuss this here?" she whispered

"answer my question Ragini, how could you hide this from me?" laksh asked again but this time his voice was a little bit louder.

"Laksh please let's not do this here" ragini said again while with her dupatta

"that is not the answer to my question, so answer my question ragini, how dare you hide the fact that I have a son! How dare you hide the fact that you were pregnant before you left?" He yelled

Everone who was standing there were shocked except for ragini's family and ashok and his wife and kids.

Ragini who was on the verge of tears because she was so angry closed her eyes took a deep breath and gave Laksh a disgusted look "just like how you betrayed me and married kavya"

Laksh just stared at her and didn't say anything, cause he couldn't. ragini looked at him one last time and walked out of the living room.

Karthik just shook his head "seriously lucky?" and ran behind ragini.

Annapurna walked towards laksh and asked him "beta what is all this?"

Laksh was about to say something when mahi interrupted "aunty Bhabhi and I will tell you everything"

Twinkle who was also their nodded her head "but before I want all of you to sit down and listen, and you can ask questions after we are done telling you everything"

"lucky bhai instead of standing there and getting angry I think you should listen to what di has to say", said an angry yuvraj, And walked out.

Kunj who had been quite for the whole time made his was towards laksh and grabbed his collar and looked straight into his eyes and said " my sister has finally started living without you in her life, she is now finally happy and I swear if she I notice she isn't happy or a tear escapes her eye cause of you, I will forget that you are my saala and twinkles brother" he let go of his collar and gave him a punch in the face "this is for playing with her feelings and betraying her" he punched him again "and this is for making her cry again." He told him and also walked out of the room.

Twinkle made her way towards laksh "you okay?"

Laksh just nodded, twinkle gave him a sympathetic look and said "sorry about the two punches that kunj gave you, actually he loves his sisters very much and he can't see them in pain."

"I deserved it" was all he said and quietly sat on the sofa waiting for what twinkle and mahi had to say.

Meanwhile in the garden:

Ragini was sitting on the chair and crying her eyes out "why laksh, why did you have to come in my life? why did you betray me? Why do you always hurt me? But even after all this why can't I stop loving you? I hate the fact that I still love you, I hate myself for loving you"

Ragini felt a hand on her shoulder she turned around and found karthik

"hey, you okay?" he aksed

"no" was all she said again burst into tears, karthik came and sat beside her and took her into a big hug "let it all out, don't hold anything back" and she did she cried her heart out by remembering everything what Lakshya did to her. They sat like this for about 10 minutes.

When ragini stopped crying, karthik looked at her and asked "you okay now?"

"better than before" she replied

"good, atleast we made some progress" he chuckled

Ragini laughed a little, but than became serious again "being near laksh is gonna be hard"

Karthik looked at her for a minute than asked "why don't you forgive him and get back together?"

Ragini looked up at the sky and answered "honestly karthik, I can't even though I love him a lot and will never stop loving him I can't forgive him, I can't ever forget that he betrayed me and married someone else infornt of my eyes, he was the one who turned my life upside down. I can't forgive him for that, but yes I will forever be indebt to him for giving me my sole reason to live. My adi"

Karhik just frowned at her, ragini took in a deep breath "maybe one day I will forgive him but I that day is not today, till than I will only be civil with him only for the sake of my Aditya"

Karthik just nodded "I hope everything gets better", he said to himself.

Ragini stood up and yawned "I'm gonna go to sleep"

Next morning:

Ragini's outfit:

It was 8:00 am and mahi was still sleeping. Ragini came out of the washroom drying her wet hair with a towel while wearing light blueish white jeans and a baby pink sweater "mahi wake up baby"

Mahi stirred in her sleep "2 more minutes di" ragini laid the wet towel out on the terrace chair and walked back in the room and shook mahi again "di let me sleep" she mumbled.

Ragin sighed "she's not going to wake up like this"

"Mahi if you don't wake up now this ice cold water will fall on you, I'm counting till 3 if you're not up than I WILL pour it on you... 1...2" she was cut off by Mahi's scream as she jumped out of bed "I'm awake! See I'm standing right in front of you" with that mahi ran into the washroom.

Ragini giggled at her little sister's antics. She walked towards the dressing table and started combing her hair, she felt someone presence behind her so she looked up into the mirror and noticed laksh standing there, they had an eyelock for about some seconds before ragini quickly turned her gaze away. She put down the brush and made her way towards him.

"what are you doing here?" she asked him with confident

"I need to talk to you, I need answers" he pleaded

Ragini stared at him for a couple of seconds before replying, than she took a deep breath "okay, I know I owe you answers and I am ready to answer them, but just remember one thing the only reason I'm even talking to you is only for the sake of adi, that's it."

Laksh nodded and started walking towards ragini, while ragini looked at him confused and started walking backwards "laksh what are you doing?"

Laksh kept on walking towards her "I don't know ragini what am I doing?" he kept walking until he made sure that ragini hit the wall.

Ragini looked up at him with anger in her eyes and tried to move away but she couldn't cause laksh had caged her in, annoyed by him she let out a sigh "what the hell laksh I thought you wanted to talk"

To which laksh replied "we are talking ragini"

she just rolled her eyes and looked the other way thinking if she would stare into his eyes long she will lose all her confidence and it would be hard for her to maintain her I don't care attitude in front of him.

While on the other hand laksh was totally enjoying this new and improved ragini, dayum' he thought.

Laksh POV:

Our proximity was killing me inside oh how I just wanted to grab her face and kiss her right there and then, on top of that her cute annoyed expression was making it harder. I tilted my head and scanned her from top to bottom dayum, she's wearing western clothes! When did this happen, but she looks so good in them' I thought. I smiled as she looked away from me she didn't realize how cute she's being right now. I didn't know what happened to me or what got into me but I leaned down and gave her a kiss on the cheek.

End of Laksh POV

Ragini looked at him with wide eyes while he just had a cute smile on his face "how dare you kiss me" she seethed and pushed him off of her and started walking towards the door when something grabbed her hand and pulled her towards a stone hard chest " where do you think you are going? We need to talk remember" he reminded her

Ragini narrowed her eyes "well I'm not the one wasting time and not coming straight to the point, now am I?"

Laksh looked at her with a serious look "why did you leave?"

She looked up at him and read the seriousness in his eyes, not just that she noticed that he was also hurt, but why?' She thought. She shook her head and answered "it was the time when I saved swara from being stabbed by kavya and you all took me to the hospital when I found out I was a month pregnant, the doctor told me that I was very lucky that nothing happened to my child, I was so happy laksh, and you were the first person I wanted to share this happiness withm but than I realized that you didn't love me and woud probably think that it was my ploy to get you back with me again, so I was afraid"

"so you left thinking that I might not accept our child?" he asked

Ragini just nodded with her head down. Laksh took a deep breath "you could have alwaysed asked me ragini, I know I was a douche to you but I wouldn't have not accepted this child cause you and I both know that it only had to be my child as I was the only one who ever came near you"

"I was afraid" was all she said

"can't we be together now ragini? I mean you told adi about me so-" he couldn't continue cause ragini cut in "no laksh we cant be together, and the only reason I told adi about you was because I didn't want him to feel as if he didn't have a father, I know how it feels to not have one of your parents around and I didn't want my child to go through what I went through, that's why I would let him talk to you when ever you would facetime Bhabhi, yuvi or keethu. So don't read more into it."

Laksh stared at her for a couple of seconds than said "I love you ragini"

i know i didnt update in like forever im sorry! but i had school work and all, anyways i hope you like this chapter and also guys feel free to give me suggestions of advice on how i can make this story better, i am open to anything 😛😛
