Un-Res for Chap 9 😊 10 shall follow in next post!

A very, very intriguing chapter, Saku. Supremely so. You laid some very dexterous clues that there is more to Lakshya than meets the eye. 😊 All this skipping after Swara! 😡 🤢

Plus those tantalizing tarot cards which Shobha drew for Sanskaar and later for Swara. Portends a lot of momentous happenings in their lives, some of it pertaining individually to them, but mostly as regards how they would affect each other, how they would transform the others' perspective of life itself. 😳

So Lakshya was bored out of his wits at Shobha's book launch. Why am I not surprised? 😆 😉 Dare I speculate, that it might reflect a certain lack of abundance of wit, in the same gentleman? 😛 😈 Ooohh our mutual favorite! 😉 I liked the fact of Swara being snarky with him, and earlier trying her best to evade the "messy haired forgotten elf prince" sitting inside Coffee delights. I don't blame her...at all!
😈 All this skipping after her...must be getting tiresome after a point, no?

By the way, Ragini certainly seems to be observing all the interactions between Swara and Lakshya with an eagle eye. Tell me Saku, is Ragini/ Janki's interest in Lakshya innate? Born of her intense craving for affection, bowled over by the flashing smiles and rather obvious charm which he turns on her (for reasons unknown as of now)? Or is she being manipulated, being the vessel she is for Suvanna? But then, what interest would Suvanna have in making Ragini infatuated with Lakshya---unless it is to engender a conflict with Swara, which would ultimately bring Swara and/or Sanskaar into her power? Or am I reading wrong signals into the situation? Do tell. 😊

I liked the fact that Adarsh does seem genuinely concerned about Swara. So he brings her the news that Mohan's injuries could be healed by the elven witch currently living in human realms---Shobha Bose, herself of course. 😊 You do knot the knots and tie up all the ends in your fic dear. No threads hanging loose---which is more than can be said of the serial itself, unfortunately. 😆

Sanskaar's dream...which seemed too detailed, vivid and intricate to be a dream 😳 was so very dreamy. 😆 Oh man, I could imagine Swara and Sanskaar in that romantic, beautiful moment suspended in time, with the supremely beautiful vistas surrounding them---the sky, the stars, the land, the trees...You painted an amazingly serene yet heartachingly lovely picture there! That romantic interlude was just 😳 ☺️ Ahem ahem...I don't blame Sanskaar for waking up in a jerk, heart pounding and restless, coming to the conclusion that he was just burning in the fires of his own yearning. 😉 I was grinning to myself quite happily, thinking that amidst all this intense pull towards her, surely the tangled misunderstandings of the past would start being questioned. Sooner rather than later.

I was really fascinated by the Tarot readings Shobha drew. For Sanskaar: Death, Justice and the Hermit. An omen of change, a warning to alter his path, and a message that someone who would completely change his perspective on things, was entering his life. All true...😉

And for Swara---the Fool, the High Priestess, and the Lovers. Foretelling the first step towards a goal, all that is light and purity and innocence...does this pertain to Swara herself? The next two relating to listening to her own inner voice intently and with an open mind, trusting it to guide her in her choice. The last indicating that she would have to make a difficult choice between two paths, two alternatives, only one of which would really be right for her, no matter how alluring the other might be...(BTW if this refers to a choice between Sanskaar and Lakshya, we have no worries. 😆 The second choice would not hold any allure for Swara really.) 😉

I found Shobha's advice to Swara rather meaningful. She cautions her to not make promises easily...to remember her cards. Hmmm...rather portentous there. And Swara's thoughts too, gave me a slight frisson of alarm. The price had been something she also wanted to obtain. Oh Oh...😕

So now Shobha asks Swara to accompany her on the cruise, and tell her her story, in exchange for sending the antidote for the poison afflicting Mohan, back to Kaldwaara through Adarsh? This is going to be really interesting. I think Shobha knows far more of the future that she is letting on. But she is a very good soul, and wants Sanskaar's happiness. Does she realize, perhaps, that Annapurna has been conniving against him? I don't imagine that Shobha would be too fond of Annapurna, loyal as she was to Aruna and now to Sanskaar. Glad to know there is someone significant in Sanskaar and Swara's corner. They do need support, there are a bevy of people arrayed against them, after all.

Will be back shortly for Chap 10, dear. 🤗

Un-Res for Chapter 10. Chapter 11 will follow in my next post. 😊

A masterfully crafted chapter, Saku my dear. You description of the Elven blade Aithne was beautiful yet terrible. It really seems like a malignant weapon, gleefully feeding off the extreme emotions of rage, anger and frustration. It works best with wielders who thirst for power, bear some or more degree of malice. Or rather, it is able to feed off those emotions, and further its own strength. No wonder it feels so intrigued by Sanskaar---whose mind is too complex, too layered to be circumscribed within the narrow walls of these basic, primeval emotions.

That whole section about how Aithne was tantalized by Sanskaar, wondering what his wrath would feel like---it sent a convulsive shudder down my spine. It really seems a most bloodthirsty and maleficent weapon.

Sanskaar the master fencer...😳 So adept at wielding blades that his fencing almost seems like a dance. So he floats like a butterfly and stings like a wasp huh? 😉 Saku, you are completely captured by Sanskaar's magic my dear. 😛 😆 And you have created such an aura and grace around him her, well what do I say. Just splendid.

I found it fascinating how Sanskaar is rather repelled by Aithne. He has no intentions of letting it meddle with his thoughts and emotions, in fact, he is conscious at the connection the sword has been trying to build, and doesn't like even the rudimentary connection with his psyche that Aithne had managed to build.

It speaks a lot of Sanskaar's iron resolve, that only when he was in such a frustrated, disturbed mood, that the blade could dip deeper into his throughts, inflaming and blemishing them. But he managed to fight that off too, nevertheless.

So Sanskaar is reflecting on the cards Shobha drew, 😊 despite his ostensible disbelief and disinterest in the tarot cards. But as yet, he cannot imagine how his path is the wrong one, and why he should alter it. He still seeks to bring justice to all those he considers involved in the heinous plot. But there is a seed of doubt there now somewhere isn't there? The germ of an idea, that perhaps the Eye did not know after all, did not connive? Because he has certainly started running that debate in his head! 😉

And he thinks he would be very interested in meeting the person who is to show him the light, bring him the new perspective of things that the Hermit card foretold. And just then, poetically almost, enters the object of his fascination, the very person whose intricate and vivid dreams he has been trying in vain to get out of his head. 😉 Errmmm Saku...is this another one of your fantasies regarding Sanskaar? 😳☺️ A strong, determined man trying his best to get rid of his overwhelming feelings for a girl, (misunderstandings clouding his mind), but then unable to resist the call of his heart? 😃 I think you are embodying Vajra with a whole lot of intense admiration (well deserved) for Sanskaar here. 😳

It goes without saying that I loved the SwaSan scene, with Sanskaar unable to hold back his very genuine concern for Swara. He might still doubt her, but I think his heart knows at some level that she is innocent of the guile and deception she stands accused of, by Annapurna & Aryaman.

So Swara recognizes the blade from her nightmares. 😕 Aithne certainly is a wicked instrument of fate, it was delighting in the chance of inflicting pain, in bloodshed and the possible taking of life. Was it always like this? Or did it get corrupted as it passed through hands of various Vajra Emperors (especialy when it was wielded by Pratula, who used it to slay Sanskaar's father)?

I guess what I am asking is, is the weapon malignant in and of itself, or is it that Pratula poured into it his malice and desire to dominate and overpower? (Much as Sauron poured his malice into the one ring? ) And how powerful must the weapon be, that its venom could even dull the Eye's powers for a time, with that cut!

If I've understood Swara's nightmares correctly, she reads her future as being stabbed to death by a Vajra Royal (Lakshya), wielding Aithne. The nightmare is so vivid, she can even feel the burning agony coursing through her, and Sanskaar's inadvertent wound inflicted on her palm, brings back the memory of that pain. So much so, that it seems familiar...😕 God, once again, I had shudders running down my backbone. Portentous indeed...for unlike Sanskaar, Lakshya has no strength and complexity of character to withstand Aithne's maleficent manipulations. He is just so easy to misguide! 🤢

Lakshya's whole interaction with Ragini seemed so---well I don't know---off? He seems to be rather clueless and naive...but his actions of flattering Ragini, trying to get close to her, seem rather calculated. Or am I reading too much into the situation?

Lakshya seemed to be missing Swara much more than Ragini did. 😆 😉 When he asked Ragini if she was missing Swara, she was completely blank! And then came that rather meaningful dialogue...a very sensible message from Lakshya to Ragini actually, but one which she surely is not going to follow. Being happy with what one has, and letting go of what one cannot have. A hint perhaps, that Ragini would be better of letting go of Lakshya. 😉 But my sympathies are a bit with Ragini here---she is so starved for love, she is going to choose the wrong path without the shadow of a doubt, but she is a borderline unhinged character, with definite schizophrenic issues. And Lakshya is only fueling her infatuation (knowingly or otherwise), with this talk of how beautiful and adorable she is. Once again, I am unable to fully shake off my suspicions of Lakshya. He seems all artless and goofy---like an overgrown version of a little, skipping lamb. 😃 But there certainly seem flashes of calculated, even Machiavellian action? Not sure...only you can tell us. 😉

Suvanna's part was chilling. Just so overwhelming, the way her vestiges of conscience and empathy are being eroded. Te High Priestess asks her to choose: justice or revenge? Urges her to shed the blood of an innocent child, and thereby the last remnants of her innocence and conscience. Really spine chilling. I wish she would have backed off, but knowing her, she must have gone ahead, thereby shedding what little chance she had of clinging to the goodness within her. I used to think she could be redeemed, but after such a heinous act, I'm not sure anymore. 🤢

Un Res for Chap 11. 😊 12 to follow soon.

A very intriguing chapter Saku, loads of little nuggets and lovely asides here.

The start itself was so lovely: about how Desire is the first stepping stone to an everlasting love. And you out that linkage so well, about how Desire leads, in stages, to an unshakable faith born of an unconditional acceptance. And you are so right, Love is certainly akin to a worship born of faith. Sobha, writing your words, certainly is a seer. 😊

And then you introduced that new, facinating nugget of the 3 clans of witches in elven lands...the Bhava, Sambhava, and the outcasts from these 2 clans, forming the Noir. And it is the shadowy Noir, cast out by the other 2 clans, that presently reside in the Island of Spirits. Where the High Priestess was urging Suvanna to complete the violent, cruel rite of passage, by shedding the blood of an innocent child. 🤢

Is that the reason the Noir were cast out? For their dabbling in such vile rituals? For their sheer malevolence in their pursuit of dark power? Does that mean the Bhava and the Sambhava are only "good" witches?

I presume there must be a lot of good inherent in the Bhava---Aruna seems like a wonderful lady. She was Naga of course, but as Sobha says, she had Bhava blood in her, too.

Sobha bit her tongue just in time, and prevented herself from blurting to Swara how close she was to Aruna. 😊 Swara wouldn't have taken much time to join the dots, had that come out. 😉

But tell me something Saku, how come Swara isn't able to recognize Sanskaar at all? Doesnt the resemblance between Sanskaar Maheshwari of today, and the Yuvraaj she met and knew (however briefly), strike her? Or has Sanskaar cast some sort of spell to prevent her from recognizing him, at least in her conscious mind? I'm sure at the level of her unconscious mind, she does know who he is, but still...

So Suvanna does do the unspeakable, the unthinkable act after all. 🤢 I did hope she might just stay her hand, or might pretend to have done the slaying while the Priestess was away or something. But she is too far gone down the road to her misplaced quest for winning her undeserving father's approval, no? In her kind, somehow Sanskaar is the villain, she has to conquer him, shatter him and bring him to her father's feet. And then will come the approval and paternal love she always craved for. Does she realize, I wonder, that it will be worth nothing when it does come? For a paternal love which is conditional upon such vile acts being performed isn't worth it in the first place. And I suspect, it is but a shadow of that desire for love which is driving Suvanna now. She does realize, I think, at some level, that Pratula is incapable of loving anyone. He only loves himself, and the trappings of power.

That moment, of Suvanna hearing the words Lakshya spoke to Ragini, and clinging on to them, though she knew they were not intended for her, was so moving yet repelling in a sense. One feels a smidgeon of revolted pity for her, almost despite oneself.

So Suvanna is definitely using Ragini as a vessel, and feels a strange bond with Lakshya---since she believes both of them to be forsaken by their families. I sense trouble with a Capital T for Swara and Sanskaar now...they have to contend with Lakshya, Suvanna, and Ragini/ Janki. Apart from Annapurna and Aryaman!

And with your customary finesse, you moved the scene to the cruise line, where there is a fire and ice themed wedding 😆 (white and crimson 😆) for the supposed wedding of...Sanskaar and Parineeta? 😕 I was tempted to faint, but then I realized neither of them was planning to go ahead with the wedding. Pari wanted to elope with someone else and got caught 😆 Oh, I can so imagine the ever clumsy Pari doing this! And Sanskaar has ostensibly agreed, in order to keep an eye on Mr Agrawal's research, which he was mysteriously going to prove that night on the cruise. 😲 Ohh...what a tempting mystery. 😉

I just loved the matter of fact, laconic way Sanskaar tells Pari there is absolutely no chance he is ever going to marry her! 🤣 Well, if he had even been planning to enter into a marriage of convenience, I would have conjured up an iceberg to sink that cruise. 😉

I loved the way Sobha saw clearly through Sanskaar's pretence of not caring for Swara, not being interested in her well being for her own sake. He claimed he was only trying to ensure he could take her back to Annapurna as he had vowed to, but as Sobha pointed out, for that he would not have to safeguard her from pain or harm. Sanskaar knows this, too, he had already realized how deeply he desired Swara, how much she affected him. Wonder when he would stop worrying about that feeling, feeling that he needs to fight it. I'm sure he can't fight it for much longer, anyway 😳

The whole description of how Sanskaar cast a dream, and enchanted Swara, his skill as an Oneiro, was marvelously done. And I just adored your description of the River Indra, the differing landscapes and the corresponding nature of the river as she flowed through the land of the Nagas, the Anjanis and the Vajras. The flashback to Sanskaar's memories of his father and mother, the time he spent with Aruna as an adoring 5 year old, was so poignant. His mother's explanation of why his father was seeking atonement, was very moving, too.

And what she said then, is going to come to pass for Sanskaar too, I am sure. About how he hadn't sinned in the worldly sense, however, for someone with a heightened sense of morals and righteousness, his heart would make him feel like a sinner, and that would be a turmoil very hard for him to bear. I suspect, when he realizes that Swara had been innocent all along, and he had allowed himself to be deceived and manipulated by Annapurna, he is going to literally loathe himself. Poor Sunny! 😕

So Ragini's dislike and rage towards Swara came out when Shekar fell into the water and almost drowned, when Swara froze during that trick. She is entitled to feel that fury, considering her father had almost died, but undeniably the incident served as both a trigger and an outlet for a buried, poisonous resentment which was already there. 😕 And my suspicions of Lakshya just got heightened...He just made Swara feel very grateful to him for saving Shekar's life, and she sincerely apologized for all the times she spoke against Shekar making Lakshya his assistant. He's won her trust to a certain degree, and now he says he didn't rescue Shekar for his own sake, he did it for Swara's sake. 😕 Hmm...I still wonder whether he is just developing a callow, juvenile infatuation with Swara...or if there is a further design there somewhere. Is he being manipulated by someone else? And why, if he is fascinated by Swara, is he also encouraging Ragini's fancies? Is it blissful oblivion (as the self centered Lakshya was, in the serial), or is it something deeper, darker? That's for us to wonder and you to reveal. 😉

And the ending of the chapter---that wonderfully constructed conversation between the Eye and the Oneiro. 😳 Swara had realized that Sanskaar was an Oneiro, that he could cast illusions as intricate and believable as any vivid dream. But she still hasn't made the connection (in her conscious mind at least), that he is the very Yuvraj of the Vajras whom she fears and (supposedly) loathes. Hmmm...interesting. 😉 I see possibly Swara falling for Mr Maheshwari, and then all hell breaking loose when she realizes who he really is--Yuvraj Sanskaar. 😳

So that's why Sanskaar cast aside the secret of his being an Oneiro, which he had been guarding carefully for years huh? Shekar had an agreement with the decidedly dodgy Mr Agrawal (I don't trust that man, too tight a smile and too flinty a look in his beady eyes 😆), who had suspected something extraordinary about Swara's capabilities in magic tricks. Thought he could analyse and expose her paranormal capabilities, huh? And Sanskaar would never have wanted that. He might think it is just to ensure he can take her back to Annapurna, but in reality he would not want Swara to come to harm.

Wonder what would happen when he realizes that the very harm he doesn't want Swara to undergo, chiefly threatens her from the machinations of his own step mother and step uncle? I do SO wish he would clap them in irons in the very deepest dungeons they have!!

Shobha's summation was masterful...about how the Eye and the Oneiro, reality and the illusion, in a sense, light and darkness, started to converse and explore the tangled skeins of fate that bound them so intricately together. They were still holding their secrets close (or trying to, at least), not revealing too much of the wounds they had each undergone. But the cascading effect of that sharing would progress far more than either could imagine, no? 😉

Will be back shortly for my comment on Chap 12 😊

Loads of Love,

@Viji,
I'm so overwhelmed with your sweetest comments dearest will reply in detail as soon as possible :) a little interjection meanwhile...it is because of a spell of Sanskar's, Swara is unable to recognize him.You remember in the chapter where they first met, she couldn't recall how the prince of Vajra looked...that's the spell.
Love,
Saku

Too glad that you're back in action dearest. Welcome!

Back now for the Un res on Chap 12. 😊

This one had all the trappings of an espionage and counter espionage thriller. 👏 👏 So Annapurna is trying her best to turn the minsters of the kingdom against the crown prince. Aiming at a coup, so as to being back her beloved lamb. 🤢 😡

But the Ministers are loyal as yet, still holding their Yuvraj in high regard. Wonder what she is charging him with? Dereliction of duty? Not pursuing the war against the Nagas with utmost dedication? That lady is really venomous!

But Agni, at least, seems to suspect her double dealing and deception. He has ensured his trusted corps of Skia keep an eye on Annapurna; and the beauty of that is that they are loyal to the throne of the Vajras, and thereby to the now Crown Prince. The Dowager queen cannot get away with openly showing her disgust at the ministers, her anger at the crown prince. 😊 Wish there was some way they could tap into her plotting with her brother. If not the skia, couldn't someone else listen in on the messages she and Aryaman exchange? Just wish there were some way. 😊

It was interesting how Swara wonders why she is not wary of Mr Maheshwari. 😊 She had been taught time and again, not to trust, not to let her guard down. But despite all that, despite the fact that she doesn't even know his first name (she suspects it starts with an 'S' 😉), she still can't help but relax her guard around him. That bit about how the sword almost tempted her to lift the hatch of the case and take it in her grasp, a moment before Sanskaar stepped into the room, was so tense and dramatic. Almost electric in its intensity. Swara thought that Sanskaar didn't know she was there...but I think its not that. I think he knew very well she was there, and even guessed, perhaps, that momentary pull she felt towards Aithne. God, that blade is evil. Why don't they just toss it into the ocean?

Its ironic in a sense, that Swara's somewhat relaxed stance around "Mr Maheshwari" is because she is convinced he could have nothing to do with Yuvraj Sanskaar. 😊 That was a pretty heartrending memory of the time when she mistakenly thought she'd seen Sanskaar killing the young Skia. It seems quite obvious it was all Aryaman's machination against the Yuvraj, he'd forced the Skia into attempting to assassinate the Yuvraj, and then disposed of her mercilessly when she was caught. So being an Oneiro is an art banned for the Skia. Why is that? Is it because they do not want them accessing the thoughts and emotions of the Royal Family?

Was Sanskaar already skilled in the art of being an Oneiro before this attempt on his life? Or did he hone his innate skills (passed on by Aruna, perhaps), after this attempt was made? Is Agni aware of Sanskaar being an Oneiro? What about Annapurna and Aryaman?

And then you gave us the scene of the vile sister--brother duo discussing their plans for Sanskaar, how they plan to take over the Vajra kingdom. I shudder to think of the darkness eating away at Annapurna's conscience, her very soul. I don't think its just the exile of her beloved son. She would have thirsted to set Lakshya on the throne anyway, even had he not been exiled. Sooner or later, she would have been drawn into a coup attempt against Sanskaar. 😡

I was gratified that she does fear Sanskaar's power. She senses that he is growing in strength, and certainly is worried whether she or Aryaman could withstand his wrath. I, for one, hope they cannot withstand it. Clap them in chains, I say! 😊 😛 And a dire, vile plot they have in mind for him---steal and destroy his Lumiere, and condemn him to an existence of pain and loss and regret. Death might be preferable. Good Lord, how evil and twisted they have become!

And Aryaman reveals that tantalizing nugget---on that raid to the Naga Gurukul, they have discovered some information about the Key. Something hidden behind the gates of Kaldwaara?

As Mohan tells Ashvini, the war is in reality targeting Kaldwaara, not the Naga race as it was ostensibly shown. Mohan has realized that there is a conspiracy against the Crown Prince, and is certain that the Nagas need to take a stan. Ashvini perhaps understandably hesitates. Sanskaar is their enemy, the one is who is helming the war against them. In her view, why should she fight against the enemy of an enemy? But as Mohan says, it wouldn't be too long before their enemies become the same...since the conspirators against the Yuvraj are the very ones who are after the key, and the war has been launched for that very purpose...

And there comes the connection to that vile weapon which I completely dislike now. The master of Aithne is the one who can command the gates of Kaldwaara to open. Aithne is at present without master...is that because the throne of the Vajra Emperor lies vacant? Or is it because Sanskaar has not assumed the throne of Vajrateertha? Am a little confused if the master of Aithne is the Vajrateertha King or the Vajra Emperor. What happens if these two people are not the same?

Your wonderful guide indicates that Aithne as well as the other 2 swords (now no longer in existence), pledged their allegiance to the Vajra Emperor as well. But would Aithne then answer to the Vajrateertha King (if he was not the same person as the Vajra)? Just curious. 😊

BTW, I was very fascinated by this angle of the blade and who could wield it. It was kind of a parallel to the Elder wand from Harry Potter. And you know what a crazy Harry Potter fan I am. 😊

So that's the spell Sanskaar has cast on Swara which encourages her to shed her wariness around him huh? 😳 He is being as honest as he can; and with each truth spoken, each secret revealed, a wall Swara has built around herself, comes down. He is creating a bond, by being open with her, and thereby almost entrancing her to shed her reticence, trust him almost blindly.

The question is, by shedding his own reticence, and opening up his own secrets to her, how long before he cannot resist her anymore? How long before he realizes that all his theories about her were a giant misconception? Not too long, I think. 😉

Loads of Love, and looking forward to Chap 13.

^^^ Saku, BTW, one thing I noticed was your wonderful description of Sanskaar's eyes. 😳 A stormy grey green when he is angry or agitated. Slightly remote and cold. But then, changing later into a glossy, deep, mountain lake green. 😊 Probably that was when he was exercising his powers, trying to read the young Skia's mind; perhaps casting a spell to get her to reveal who had blackmailed her?

I guess you already know that green is the rarest eye color among humans. No wonder you chose this special color for a very special Elven Prince. 😉

When you have time, let me know what I'd asked you in my previous post---was Sanskaar already an Oneiro at that time, and were the others aware of that? How had the Skia tried to assassinate him, BTW? You mentioned she had tried to perform her tricks as an Oneiro on the Yuvraj. But how would that kill him?

Lots of Love,

Saku...also clear one doubt for me. When Pratula's father was the Vajra, he wielded Aithne, right? Why did he hand it over to Arya? Was it because she was intended to be the bride of the next Vajra (Sanskaar's father)? Or was it because he suspected the intentions of his son Pratula?

So if I understood right, Aithne has allegiance to the Vajra. And to the Vajrateertha King as well (subordinate to its allegiance to the Vajra.) But it can also be wielded by someone to kill the Vajra, even though it is supposed to hold allegiance to him?

If I understood correctly, it had drawn on Pratula's malice and lust for power and thereby warped its own aura as well as furthering his own malignant emotions. But is that sufficient to override its allegiance?

You're right dearest, that was when he was using his power and also, he was initially angry with the skia hence his eyes were stormy gray green and then as he calmed down his eyes returned to their usual pleasant color😳

I guess you already know that green is the rarest eye color among humans. No wonder you chose this special color for a very special Elven Prince. 😉
I did have a toss between aquamarine and lake green, somehow, lake green won in the end, since I was already partial to it, from the start. And yes, since it was elven tale I wanted to pick a color which would be rare among humans😊

Sanskar had been oneiro ever since he was born and as you guessed right the ability passed from his mother Aruna. Not many (Including AP and Aryamaan) knows this. But Agni, Dida and now Swara does.
As I would explain in future chapters Oneiros are considered untrustworthy in elven lands, mostly because they can cast all kinds of illusions around you and make you believe them in the most unlikely situations.
Oh, Oneiros can kill. You see they create illusions around you, so profound that you believe them. Now imagine what will be the case if someone creates a very vivid nightmare for you, something that you believe is actually happening. They can lure you in to either harming yourself or you could simply die from a heart attack. Anyway the part where Skia tried to kill the prince is in a future chapter😊
Lots of Love,

---Viji

Replied in purple above sis. I hope this clear your doubts about Oneiros. Do let me know.
Loads of love,
Saku

He handed the sword to Arya because he wanted to break the line of Aithne's owners. You see this was what I inspired from elder wand in HP, if the previous owner of Aithne dies undefeated, Aithne would be masterless forever. But Pratula did defeat and kill his father, hence the plan did not work as intended. Now as for why he did not give the sword to Pratula. That was because Aithne feeds on lust, anger, hatred and ignorance, Pratula would be like a feast to the blade while Arya had none of those feelings. She would have weakened Aithne had she kept it for many long years.

It can, only if the Vajra is already weak and not in his full power. That was the case with Sanskar's father, as we will know later, this has happened before. If the Vajra is already weak, Aithne can easily override its allegiance to the emperor and obey the will of its wielder. As you see, it feeds on power, so in a situation where the wielder of Aithne is more powerful, it can work against its supreme master.
If I understood correctly, it had drawn on Pratula's malice and lust for power and thereby warped its own aura as well as furthering his own malignant emotions. But is that sufficient to override its allegiance?
It most definitely fed on Pratula's evil thoughts, but Aithne had been a malicious weapon from a long time, even before Pratula wielded it. The Vajras kept it under control with their power, but anyone of less caliber, like Pratula would fell prey to its darkness (Sort of like the one ring). As for who really made Aithne evil in the first place that will be revealed later.
