This is awesome Sakura . Swara must write her feelings to her baba. You have exactly and very precisely written her feelings. I am astonished that any father can be like Shekhar. Bengali fathers always bring up their daughter like a porcelain doll-nothing can harm them. But here Shekhar does not learn any qualities from his neighbours. He is partial, acts like a step -father. He loves his Ragini so much that doesn't see her misdeedsbut Swara is not his daughter anymore because she chooses Sanskar with whom, her happiness lies. I don't know why but I don't consider him as Swara's father.

Thank you so much dear😊 Yes, I think she should have some sort of a conversation with him. After all he seems to have no idea what he is putting her through. Me too. I don't think it is a very just portrayal to fatherhood in fact. I don't think he is Swara's father either...well I try not to...but end of the day he is I don't agree someone can cast a child out of their life just because they have made a different choice...that would be inhumane.
I'm so glad I could match up to your view.
Love,
Sakura

Whatever Swara faced till date and will face in future is only because she is daughter of someone like Shekhar! It's better not to have a father than having one like him!

Well written Saku👏

I'm so glad you liked this one my dear😃 Yes, well my thoughts about him are violent too, if I was not concerned about getting my hands dirty by touching filth like that I might have joined you in killing him. But yes, had she had a better, stronger father (Like father's happen to be in real life) Swara wouldn't have faced half the problems she is going through currently.
Thank you so much😊

Very well written Saku... I am sooo damn angry at Shekhar for making Swara chose. He does not deserve that right he is already what you call a dhaba on the name of a father... Swara has always fought so hard for her baba and when the time came for Shekhar to return the favour he only saw Ragini's pain and heartbreak why cant he once see that he even has another daughter and he cannot spoil one daughter's life over anothers...

Thank you so much Manasie dear,🤗
I'm not angry, I'm rather uncomfortable with their portrayal. I don;t think any parent would stoop to this level ever. In fact Shekar has never seen anything beyond Ragini has he? No matter how much Swara would invest in their bond he is always so...shallow. I just can't take it anymore, hence wrote this.

Thank you so much Akshata dear😊
I am hurt by the way they have decided to portray Shekar. I so want Swara to help him in understanding her if he is as dense as he seems to be. Just can't take it anymore, hence wrote this. I'm glad it was worth your time😊

Sakura

Dear Sakura,

As you said in the introduction, most girls are very close to their fathers and for some of them, their fathers are the centre of their worlds. I am not one of them, for me my father was my universe, and when he died, it was like my universe had shattered. It is many years now, but still I can see his face, crystal clear, if I close my eyes, no photographs needed, even if the numbers years I have spent without him are more than the years I shared with him. That is what fathers are.

The Shekhar Gadodia in this serial is no father - he is a slur to that word -he is just a sperm donor. A man who, time and again hurts his daughters does not deserve to be called or addressed as such. His stubbornness with Swara is only on account of his bruised ego - I will not ascribe that to his feeling sad for Ragini (a shallow, callous man such as he can truly love no person but himself) Shekhar should remember what fathers are:

A dad is someone who wants to catch you before you fall, but instead picks you up, brushes you and lets you try again
A dad is someone who wants to keep you from making mistakes but lets you find your own way even though his heart breaks in silence when you get hurt
A dad is someone who holds you when you cry, scolds you when you break the rules, shines with pride when you succeed and had faith in you even when you fail.
He is neither an anchor to hold you back nor a sail to take you there, but a guiding light whose love shows you the way.
He is someone who cannot carry you in his arms anymore but always carries you in his heart.

There is just no way Shekar is a father, no way- he has failed Ragini by being blind to her faults and failed Swara by being blind to her dreams, wishes and her very existence.

Thank you Sakura, for such a heartfelt letter - for reminding all of us, who take it for granted, that blessed are we for having the fathers that we do.

love

So v well said sakura...loved ur post...how well u defined the imp of a father fig in a girls life and wat all swara has missed..

In last epi when swara served him tea or something, he is like i m so happy things r back to old days, he wants swara to be happy and help ragini, want both his daughters to be khush, he calls her meri beti...but but but ignores the pain blazing from her eyes, totally dismisses her hurt and defeated stance, doesn't pay attention to the fact that she is unable to see him eye to eye...how callously he reminds her of his kasam, ensuring she stops pining for sanky and be happy with the dictat he has come up with...

I cried for swara in that scene...the daughter in me raged... A father is supposed to remove his daughter's pain, ensure he gives her all d things that makes her happy... Shekhar KNOWS that sanskar is her life, he has seen her breakdown when sanky got engaged to kavita...and now coz his bruised ego he is ready to throw her in fire, make her life a living hell!

He should be more caring towards her as he has already missed out giving so much love to her in her childhood...has missed all those special moments for a little girl that you mentioned...has missed giving her daughter support, strength and confidence to fight the world...
and when she has finally found and is with that special someone who does just that, who loves his daughter d most in the world, who can put the world at her feet., he insults the man, questions sanky's love for swara, forces her to separate from him thus killing her a little every day..

I am so mad at shekhar and so hurt for swara that i can cry any moment, at the injustice of it all...

My dad would move heaven and earth to give me happiness, swara's knows only how to take it away! Ouch ouch!!

Love, sumi
