I wanted to portray how Swara and Sanskaar feel that sense of belonging, that mooring with each other; the contentment and utter joy they find in each others company. They truly are at home with each other, when they are together...and they are slowly realizing that.

You put that well, they are giving each other the strength and the shoulder to heal their past wounds, to learn to be happy again, to learn to love again. That is the lovely dard ka rishta aspect of their relationship, that has so fascinated all of us.

Thanks for saying you love my footnotes. 😊 I try to put as many relevant details & nuggets there as I can.

Very true about Manna Dey. He was such a great singer, but somehow never quite got his due. I remember reading that Rafi was once reported to have said "You all may admire my voice, but I admire Manna Dey's voice": or words to that effect. I used to always think that perhaps this was apocryphal, after all, they were leading rivals...

But then I had gone to a concert which was a retrospective/ tribute to Rafi, where his son was the guest of honor. He confirmed that indeed, his father had actually said those words; and that Rafi had the highest regard for Manna Dey.

I just love several of Manna Dey's songs, they are so magical.

Regarding Asha Vs Lata: Oh, That's a long debate. 😆 I prefer Lata myself, but Asha certainly has the wider repertoire. Some of her hits with OP Nayyar are par excellence, and of course her songs from Umrao Jaan are legendary.

I am so very happy to hear that you loved this drabble.

I wanted to show the warm, affectionate moments of camaraderie and friendship between Swara and Sanskaar. I agree with you completely, this phase, of a very close friendship with is gradually deepening into something more, is an amazing time for any couple. SwaSan are so very special that their conversations can range on topics from the mundane to the sublime, and they would never get tired---they have that connect, after all. Likewise, their silences are companionable and comforting, never tense or boring.

I wanted to portray that gradual realization in both Swara and Sanskaar, that they have started considering the other as more than a best friend. And they certainly feel that sense of belonging, that contentment and joy in each others company. They feel so moored, so comfortingly rooted when they are together, that they are home, in the truest sense.

I would just love to have a sequence in the serial where Sanskaar is crooning a song to her, and she is playing the guitar to the same tune. It would be magical, purely magical.

Thanks a ton yaar, so happy to know that you liked this Drabble and the series as well.

Yes, this is set during the time of their "pretend marriage", when both have started gradually developing feelings for each other, but still do have some confusion and a degree of denial in their own minds.

This drabble portrays how they both have realized their sense of belonging, the utter contentment and joy they have in each others company. They feel at home when they are together, a sense of bonding and mooring in their very warm friendship. Of course, the fact that this friendship is gradually deepening into something more, is dawning on each of them. 😳 ☺️

So glad that you liked how they share some precious moments of warmth and banter over their shared love of music...Swara plays songs on her guitar, with Sanskaar humming the tunes they both love. 😉

Not planning to post a Drabble #4, dear. Working on a longer, more intense 3-S, will take some time to flesh out the plot, though. Shall PM you, as always, once its ready and I post it.
