Viji dearest 🤗

I am so happy you didn't keep us deprived of these Drabbles, all so beautiful and this one evoking a sepia toned beauty in itself! That description of the sunset was truly outstanding 👏. It immediately put you exactly there- next to a couple you can never tire of, with them sipping delicious tea (my favourite type too) and just absorbing the beauty of their love and romance! Sigghhh- lovely!

Whilst these are termed Drabbles, due to the power of your pen (keyboard but sepia raises thoughts of ink from days of old and lined parchment so I'll go with pen) they pack in such a multitude of perfectly described emotions. I loved Sanskaar's sense of peace and belonging and even excitement, all beautiful combined, in being back to his Swara. And their companiable moments you have shown so well many times before- with the little things that make their interaction meaningful.

But that music was the star of this piece 👏👏 The perfectness of the lyrics and of course the whole meaning infused into them, enhanced by the setting and emotions you described- was amazing. And we did discuss this on the DK thread but wow- our soul connect with your use of the word Mod, given the same in the other story! 😃. And btw- that Arijit Singh version of that song- I was so obsessed with it for ages, I used to play it on loop and when visualising scenes for the script I work on, I used it many times for mental inspiration 😃. A fabulous piece finished off with the touch that crowned its glory- Swara's realisation of being in the same place as Sanskaar, each unbeknown to the other! 👏.

Lovely work as ever. Love always,
S xoxo

Shru my dear...🤗 🤗

Means a lot to me to know what you felt about this; and Wow---so much warm appreciation is making me go all 😳 😳.

SO glad you liked the title, Shru. I wanted to convey that gilded, sublimely beautiful image of that memory, and your response assured me I managed to do a fair bit of justice to that. 🤗

You know my abiding passion for sunsets, masala chai, and music---all elements which I love to combine with my other passion, SwaSan. 😉 I really wanted to portray that sense of belonging, of finding a mooring and roots, as it were, in each others company. Really overjoyed that you loved this.

As I'd mentioned, this drabble was a spin off from a couple of drafts I prepared for my earlier pieces ("It was written in the stars" and "Second Chances"), but then I'd cut these chapters out at the time of final editing. I was just amazed at the coincidence when you'd sent me the PM for Chap 8 on DK and I saw the name of the hamlet there. 😆 😆 It was so uncanny about how the appropriateness of a "Mod" vis a vis SwaSan had struck both of us.

Is Mod Se Jaate Hain is one of my all time favorite songs, along with some of the others I'd mentioned in the footnote. I can SO imagine SwaSan crooning any of these together, sitting contentedly on their balcony...

And you like Arijit's Aaj Phir Tumpe...too? That makes you, Saku and I, all adoring this song. 😊 Its an amazing work isn't it? So well sung. Great to know you used it as inspiration for that script you're working on. How is that coming on BTW...When do you plan to get that finished? This is intended to be as a script for a TV series isn't it?

As always, it was such a pleasure to hear from you, Shru.

Loads of Love,

---Viji

Sepia toned memories..wow what a title...
Sorry but i will use this line for my insta pic..that i had captured in my grandma's home.
😊
Its was a very sweet scene, two broken souls are healing each other without showing their own pain .
They know that the other person is healing them ...
Adharakh ilaichi chai my favorite(after cofee)..and all the quotes are superb for the situation. 😊
Life is like that only .sometimes little moment is very precious that can easily heal year's of pain..
Oh i became sentimental.(well i am already mental.(according to my mom).i should not be senti.. 😆 )
The song ..is mode pe my all time favorite..(Lataji..what a voice and the lyrics..just wow)
Well i like Rafi ji's song also (Ehsan tera hoga mujhpar).(i can imagine sanskar singing this for swara, well its old but classic too.. 😊
so they felt that they are in home..and swara was crying..at the end ..she is falling for him...i love the end
love you dear for such a superb oneshot.
Keep writting.

Love,
Simi 😊

Hey Simi darling...🤗 🤗 🤗

Thanks so very much yaar. So happy to know that you loved this last part of my drabble series.

You loved the title that much? I am so happy to hear that. Please go ahead and use it as your insta pic by all means. 😃 🤗

You are so right, they are both healing each others pain, with their comforting presence and support. And they are slowly realizing, that the other person has come to mean to them.

My Hubby tells me sometimes that I am half mental. 😆 Especially when it concerns SwaSan. 😉 I am tho by definition sentimental---goes with the territory of being a Cancerian--water sign you see! Very emotional and sometimes moody! 😃

Adrak & Elaichi chai is like manna from heaven for me. 😛 I have a large mug in the morning; and sometimes a small cup in the evening as well!

Lata Ji and Rafi Saab are my favorite singers of all time...I just love Ehsaan Tera Hoga as well, thanks for reminding me about that one. Coincidentally, that is also set to Raag Yaman Kalyan. 😊

Such a pelasure and privilege to have your wonderful feedback, Simi dear. Thanks again.

Loads of Love,

---Viji

Hey, I am an ardent fan of your writing, I can't criticise your dabble .Loved it. I have left the show for the pathetic track recently. I will love all of you excellent writers for your marvellous creation. You are life saver for me. Love you 😳
My son is very demanding 😆Don't give me time 😭

Hey Apu...

Please don't say Sorry, I want my pals to read and comment when convenient, that's it. And as Sanskaar keeps saying, Dosti mein no Sorrys 😉

Thanks for those very lovely words my dear, glad you loved this drabble.

Wonderful to know you have a little kiddo. I know must be very demanding, though very fulfilling too. I have a 5 year old girl, she is my absolute sweetheart. She does keep me busy, though. 😊

Lots of Love,

UnRes - though my apologies for the delay 😭

Sepia toned memories - the very title conjures up warmth - and the story really leaves one feeling warm (such lovely moments).

I guess you love adrak elaichi chai too - and the way you describe both the chai and Sanskaar's reactions to it - tempts me a little (and I am a coffee girl - never even tasted chai - I supposedly make a good cup of tea, though)😉

What really got me was the similar realisation of both Swara and Sanskaar - they were both home!! and such a 'melodious' realisation.👏👏

But you cannot really stop with this - why can't we have some more - please.😊

Nyna

PS: a couple of other songs based on Yaman Kalyan - Yeh duniya agar mil bhi jaaye toh kya hai (sung by M Rafi - Pyaasa - I get goosebumps everytime I hear this song - and I have heard it over a thousand times) and Zindagi ka safar (Kishore Kumar - Safar). Other examples of Raag Bhairav are 'Laaga chunari mein daag (Manna Dey - Dil hi toh hai) and 'Tu ganga ki mauj main jamuna ki dhara (M Rafi - Baiju Bawara)

Hey Nyna dear...Once again, please, please, No Sorrys. Feel free to read and comment whenever time permits. You'd told me about work pressures and I perfectly understand how the real world bosses and customers aren't the least bit bothered about our SwaSan obsession. 😆 😆

Thanks so much for your lovely words about the title as well as the plot and the SwaSan portrayal in this one.

You got me there---I adore masala chai. 😆 😉 Its literally manna from heaven for me. Am not too much of a coffee person at all, the only time I have coffee (rather weak and with lots of milk)--is when I absolutely can't get any tea. I think any coffee drinker would be horrified with the weak, milky beverage I drink in the name of coffee. 😛

He He, yup, both Swara and Sanskaar do have a very musical and lyrical realization...😉 I wanted to show how they feel that deep connect, that sense of belonging, of mooring to a solid companion/support; in each others company. Am so happy you liked that.

I just love the songs you mentioned above---especially the ones in Baiju Bawara and Pyaasa. Rafi Saab was an impeccable genius...You're right, his voice has the capacity to raise goosebumps, no matter how many times one listens to the song. And such range---he cavorts and yodels in the cheerful numbers (his songs picturized on Shammi Kapoor are priceless), and in his pathos filled songs, one just feels like breaking into sobs. And of course, all the rainbow of moods between these extremes...Just love them. Lata Ji is another favorite of mine. I practically worship her. 😊 Manna Dey saab, too. His "Jhanak Jhanak Tore Baaje Payaliya" is again, goosebump inducing!

Thanks again, Nyna,

Lots of Love,

And i too love adrak wali masala chai😉 so, i love how almost every work of yours has a scene of swasan sipping adrak n elaichi chai in the evening... everytime i make some now, i have a flash of one of your works😆 Sanskaar sure has nerves of steel yaar.. knowing she'll leave after her mission is completed, it doesnt interfere with his efforts to help her achieve what she wishes for.. And the musical connection.. I like how you have retained Swara's passion for music in her character here... No wonder She realised her deepening feelings through music.. If they're singing romantic songs every evening, and knowing their chemistry, how come they didn't fall in love sooner??😆 Jokes apart, great one dear👍🏼 I the likes😛😆

Hey Akshata...🤗 🤗

Thanks so very much dear...Am so very happy that you liked this drabble.

I just love sunsets you see (sunrises too). 😊 So I can't resist describing them in some of my writing. 😉 That was a lovely compliment, that you could picture the scene vividly---Thanks from the bottom of my heart, for saying that. Made my day. 🤗

Adrak & Elaichi chai is absolutely my favorite beverage. 😊 Its like manna from heaven for me, I need a large mug in the morning, and quite often have a smaller cup in the evening too. Hahaha I'm glad you would be able to picture SwaSan while brewing your evening tea.

Yup, Sanskaar certainly is a very purposeful, focused individual. He realizes that Swara would leave and go back to the baadi, once her aim of bringing her parents back together, of bringing the truth to light is completed. But that doesn't change his resolve to support her, even an iota. He is determined to aid her in achieving her goal.

So happy you loved the music angle. I love music, learned the violin for 6 years, and I did want to show Swara's passion for music, which is such an essential part of her character. They certainly are becoming more aware of their deepening feelings through music, the wonderful time they spend with each other. Humming old classics with a person who has become one's closest friend, and gradually, becoming something more, is so tenderly romantic, na? 😳 😉

Thanks again, sweetie!

Lots of Love,
