Hey Viji😃
Your drabbles are like vintage snapshots of the most cherished moments in Swasan's relationship. There is nothing more comforting than the panoramic view of the sunset with a cup of hot tea( without adrak and elaichi for me😊). The thing about sunsets is that when you look at them they awaken the inner philosopher in you and to that I quote Arthur Wing Pinero '' Where there is tea there is hope''. They also signify the end of the day when everybody is retiring home. That's precisely where Swara and Sanskar are right now, relishing the sense of belonging in the company of Music and of course each other. My Knowledge of Old Hndi songs is not too great but there are a couple of classics that I love like Kabhi Kabhi Mere Dil Main, Chukar Mere Mann Ko Kiya Tune Kya Ishara, O Saathi Re Tere Bina Bhi Kya Jina. Most of them are Big B's films and believe me when I logged in to post my comment I read your reply to Shruti, my heart just jumped at the mention of the songs from Abhimaan. Tere Mere Milan Ki Yeh Raina is one of my favorites. For Sanskar home always meant coming back to Swara and I love that you always put great emphasis on the continuous guilt he feels for what he did to her. Swara's recollection of the old Ragini further highlights her glaring transformation from an angel to a devil .I'm not watching the show right now. Cannot stand Urvashi and Kavita. Will probably tune in for Swasans wedding. Oh and Arjit Singh is just fabulous. I love all his songs.Waiting for more drabbles Viji🤗
Hey Ruqu darling...🤗 🤗 🤗
Thanks so much, darling, for those very lovely words. I was completely overjoyed that you found my sepia toned memories to be equivalent to precious snapshots of SwaSan's togetherness. 🤗
Sunsets (sunrises too, for that matter), are absolutely spellbinding na? The meeting of the day and the night--affording the most brilliantly enchanting sights of all the 24 hours!! I agree with you completely, it awakens all the yearning, all the passion in the soul of the beholder.
I LOVED that quote about tea you referred, by Arthur Pinero. 😊 Amazingly apt and very, very true! I am a tea lover myself, I go nuts over adrak & elaichi chai. 😉
I wanted to show those lovely moments of complete camaraderie and companionship which SwaSan have, Their friendship has become the most important relationship in their lives now, and is gradually but steadily deepening into something more. They have that sense of belonging, of a mooring to each other. They are truly at home when they are together, and with that lovely music, of course, another element that binds them, brings them ever closer.
So glad to know you love several of the Golden Oldies. Big B certainly had some amazing hits in his films. The songs from Abhimaan are just awesome; Tere Mere Milan Ki Yeh Raina...is one of my absolute favorites, as is Teri Bindiya Re. Have you heard the songs from Silsila? Dekha Ek Khwab Toh Yeh Silslie Hue...(Lata Ji & Kishore Kumar) is just an absolute classic as well.
Thanks for all those lovely words for my portrayal of what SwaSan feel for each other. Yes, Sanskaar certainly feels a lot of guilt for what he did to Swara in his mistaken, bitter quest for vendetta. He has repented completely, and wanted to redeem himself by supporting Swara in her quest for the truth.
But unbeknownst to himself, he has now started feeling so much more. He wants to fill her life with happiness, share every moment with her. His devotion, his adoration for her is now coming to the forefront. And Swara, too, feels that sense of completeness and contentment when he is with her. She has grown to consider him as her best friend, her sounding board, her guide, her support system...and is gradually coming to see him as someone even more special in her life.
Now they just have to complete their realization of what the other means to them; and then reveal their feelings to each other! 😉
Lots of Love,
---Viji
