Your drabbles are like vintage snapshots of the most cherished moments in Swasan's relationship. There is nothing more comforting than the panoramic view of the sunset with a cup of hot tea( without adrak and elaichi for me😊). The thing about sunsets is that when you look at them they awaken the inner philosopher in you and to that I quote Arthur Wing Pinero '' Where there is tea there is hope''. They also signify the end of the day when everybody is retiring home. That's precisely where Swara and Sanskar are right now, relishing the sense of belonging in the company of Music and of course each other.

My Knowledge of Old Hndi songs is not too great but there are a couple of classics that I love like Kabhi Kabhi Mere Dil Main, Chukar Mere Mann Ko Kiya Tune Kya Ishara, O Saathi Re Tere Bina Bhi Kya Jina. Most of them are Big B's films and believe me when I logged in to post my comment I read your reply to Shruti, my heart just jumped at the mention of the songs from Abhimaan. Tere Mere Milan Ki Yeh Raina is one of my favorites.

For Sanskar home always meant coming back to Swara and I love that you always put great emphasis on the continuous guilt he feels for what he did to her. Swara's recollection of the old Ragini further highlights her glaring transformation from an angel to a devil .I'm not watching the show right now. Cannot stand Urvashi and Kavita. Will probably tune in for Swasans wedding. Oh and Arjit Singh is just fabulous. I love all his songs.

Waiting for more drabbles Viji🤗

Hey Ruqu darling...🤗 🤗 🤗

Thanks so much, darling, for those very lovely words. I was completely overjoyed that you found my sepia toned memories to be equivalent to precious snapshots of SwaSan's togetherness. 🤗

Sunsets (sunrises too, for that matter), are absolutely spellbinding na? The meeting of the day and the night--affording the most brilliantly enchanting sights of all the 24 hours!! I agree with you completely, it awakens all the yearning, all the passion in the soul of the beholder.

I LOVED that quote about tea you referred, by Arthur Pinero. 😊 Amazingly apt and very, very true! I am a tea lover myself, I go nuts over adrak & elaichi chai. 😉

I wanted to show those lovely moments of complete camaraderie and companionship which SwaSan have, Their friendship has become the most important relationship in their lives now, and is gradually but steadily deepening into something more. They have that sense of belonging, of a mooring to each other. They are truly at home when they are together, and with that lovely music, of course, another element that binds them, brings them ever closer.

So glad to know you love several of the Golden Oldies. Big B certainly had some amazing hits in his films. The songs from Abhimaan are just awesome; Tere Mere Milan Ki Yeh Raina...is one of my absolute favorites, as is Teri Bindiya Re. Have you heard the songs from Silsila? Dekha Ek Khwab Toh Yeh Silslie Hue...(Lata Ji & Kishore Kumar) is just an absolute classic as well.

Thanks for all those lovely words for my portrayal of what SwaSan feel for each other. Yes, Sanskaar certainly feels a lot of guilt for what he did to Swara in his mistaken, bitter quest for vendetta. He has repented completely, and wanted to redeem himself by supporting Swara in her quest for the truth.

But unbeknownst to himself, he has now started feeling so much more. He wants to fill her life with happiness, share every moment with her. His devotion, his adoration for her is now coming to the forefront. And Swara, too, feels that sense of completeness and contentment when he is with her. She has grown to consider him as her best friend, her sounding board, her guide, her support system...and is gradually coming to see him as someone even more special in her life.

Now they just have to complete their realization of what the other means to them; and then reveal their feelings to each other! 😉

Lots of Love,

Heyy Viji sweetie...
Finally today is the day I've settled myself in a corner of my sofa and decided tht I WILL write a fitting reply to tht beauty of a Drabble tht u wrote this week...

Where do I start...oh! Adrak and elaichi wali chai!!! It's become my favorite and now u hv introduced a new spice...Laung!!! Should I try it or should I not??? Incidentally I just finished my own adrak elaichi chai and am writing this...and swasan have built their entire 'friendship' around many such cups of tea...so ur inclusion in most of your writing is perfectly apt!

Poor Swara...in those days she was really a confused soul...for her age she had seen way too much negativity with respect to her own close ppl and yet for her to form such a close bond with someone who was not only not family but also someone who had been on the path to destroy her so badly for no fault of hers!!! Many ppl have bashed her earlier for being blind to Ragini's faults and sins but I always felt tht she was trying her best to justify it coz in her heart she couldn't believe tht someone whom she had seen as sweet and innocent all her life could be such a horrible conniving monster...the quote of Saki sits so well with her!! And Sanskaar is the right person to quote as he has seen with his own eyes her transformation from a naive girl to a vamp and even though he was instrumental in creating the vamp...she was never his puppet, she advanced in evilness much faster and remorselessly much like a malignant tumor does...

I loved how u described sanskaar's growing feelings for Swara...he knew that he feels something for her beyond friendship but it's always so difficult to admit love specially to one's own self...once u knw u r in love to declare it to ur loved one isn't tht difficult for many but the self realization is the toughest part and tht u hv explained her beautifully...on tht same note i would like to add tht again earlier Swara was badly bashed when Sanskaar had confessed love to her and she was unhappy and even angry about it...but again here I would defend Swara as she took a much longer time to realize her own feelings for him and as a result the only feeling she was ready to accept and display was anger...look at her now...madly in love with him and fighting tooth n nail for her love...and thts how it should be...love can never be forced and only by self realization one can do full justice to it!

Sanskaar in his confused feelings does know for sure tht he is going to miss Swara badly when she leaves and tht is definitely a step towards his own realization plus his relief whenever she affirms tht Swara will never return to Laksh ...such an adorable Sanskaar...little things inching him closer to Swara but he forces himself to hide them

And aah...their beautiful duet..I so love tht song and imagining swasan singing it brings a tingling feeling...really it was a masterpiece of Pancham da!

Both their minds are at a perfect sync ... And even though Swara has not come anywhere near even analyzing her feelings for Sanskaar she still knows in her heart tht being with Sanskaar is being HOME!! Beautifully written Viji!!

Love and hugs

How HOW did I miss this!!!
What a lovely little scene - and my favourite kind of drabble, with a bit of song and poetry!

What a line that is...
In reshmi rahon mein,
ek raah toh woh hogi
Tum tak jo pohunchti hai...

Hoping there is just one road - to you!

Swara's road to Sanskaar was not the shy one that descended the stairs, but the one that came like an aandhi but never mind... she found her road to him 😳😳

Hey Bubble 🤗 🤗

Thanks a ton dear! Oh you love a bit of music and poetry in Fics too? We are kindred spirits there---I just love music (learned carnatic classical for quite a few years), and wanted to include that aspect in this drabble. So glad you loved it.

And oh yes, Swara's road to Sanskaar was definitely not the shy one that descended with coy steps. 😆 Was the path that rose like a hurricane alright. 😉 But yeah, they found their path to be together, to be happy and completely in love with each other---and that's what matters in the ultimate analysis.

Loads of Love,

My Dear, Dear Tas...🤗 🤗 🤗

Thanks so much darling, for elevating me somewhere to 7th heaven, with this comment of yours. . 🤗 🤗 So, so happy that you loved this drabble this much.

Adrak and Elaichi chai is like manna from heaven for me, dear. 😉 I have a large, stealing mug in the morning, and many days, a cup in the evening, too. And yes, a little bit of Laung goes very well...I do add it sometimes, though not always. I would like to think Swara gives Sanskaar both styles. 😆 You are right, their friendship has deepened through so many lovely, shared moments over warm mugs of tea and delicious conversation!

I really do agree with you on Swara's initial reactions towards Ragini, her dismay and sorrow that her beloved sister and friend could behave in such a manner! I think that Swara would always have wanted to give Ragini the benefit of doubt. For the simple reason, that after all, Lakshya was engaged to Ragini first. I guess Swara might always have felt somewhat guilty that Lakshya pursuing her, and her agreeing ultimately to his proposal, was a betrayal of Ragini. Though of course, Swara had never intended it like that, and Ragini herself acted as if she was fine with it.

Having seen the reserved, meek and docile side of Ragini from childhood, Swara would have found it easy to think of her actions only as a momentary aberration, brought about by a violent fit of jealousy and frustrated love. But as you said, Sanskaar had the much better measure of Ragini. He had understood her nature only too well. True, he himself had experienced all those negative emotions of hatred, bitterness and vengeance. And he had given Ragini that initial push to think on those selfish and conniving lines. But the fact was, he did thoroughly repent, and try to pull Ragini back from the brink.

The way she reacted then, had convinced Sanskaar that she is not likely to feel genuine remorse, or try to redeem herself as he has so sincerely done. At least, not in the foreseeable future. Like he says, there is a lot of negativity, intense possessiveness and jealousy, which Ragini had hidden behind her timid facade.

I did want to portray that sense of belonging, that warm feeling of contentment and camaraderie, which Sanskaar and Swara feel in each others company. Yes, Sanskaar has certainly started realizing that he feels something more for Swara than being a very close friend. He is reluctant to face this emotion fully, accept it as yet. After all, this is the lead up to that memorable, goosebump inducing love confession of his, where he said "Pyar kab, kyon aur kaise hua, pata nahi! Tumhi se kyon hua, pata nahi! Is pyar ka koi manzil hai bhi ya nahin, pata nahi!"

Sanskaar at the stage of this drabble, still feels a considerable degree of guilt for what he'd done to Swara in his crazed quest for revenge. And he probably feels Swara could never love him. He may not even adjudge himself worthy of being loved by her. Sanskaar knows that his feelings had deepened considerably towards Swara, but he is probably reluctant to fully accept and acknowledge those feelings to himself, at this stage.

You put that very well: The fact that Sanskaar feels pangs of pain and loneliness at the thought of Swara going away from him, after their plan succeeds; and the tremendous relief he feels when she tells him she will never want to re enter Lakshya's life, are clear signs that he has fallen in love with her. He just needs time to fully realize it! 😳

And Swara too, though she is equally hazy about what her emotions towards Sanskaar are; has also started feeling a warm sense of mooring, of belonging, in his company. She feels at home when they are together, and that would encourage her to think things through a little bit more. 😉

I just LOVE that song, Tas. Is Mod Se Jaate Hain is one of my all time favorites, as also another song from Aandhi: Tum Aa Gaye Ho, Noor Aa Gaya Hain. Complete gems by Pancham Da, Gulzaar Saab, Lata Ji and Kishore Kumar.

Those lines in
Is Mod Se Jaate Hain seem tailor made for SwaSan. Even the lines in that wonderful song from Junglee: Ehsaan Tera Hoga Mujhpar.(Both the Rafi Saab and Lata Ji versions). I can just imagine SwaSan singing this to each other.

Thanks again, Tas!

Lots of Love,

---Viji

Viji I know you love Sunsets. Your DP pic is proof enough😆. I had seen a photo of a sunset from space. The astronaut had actually captured those red and orange hues on the clouds! It was beautiful.

Ah yes Viji Dekha Ek Khwab is another famous one among the many romantic duets of Kishore Kumar and Lata Ji. Gosh there are so many songs that can be picturised on Swasan😆.We can never run out of them. I listen to these songs mostly because they possess such exquisite lyrical beauty. Like the one of Rajesh Khanna's Kora Kaagaz Tha Yeh Mann Mera and Pyaar Deewana Hota Hai Mastana Hota Hai. Such Beautiful songs!!

Hahaha yeah I certainly make no secret of my love for sunsets and sunrises huh? 😆 Oohhh I think I've seen than photo you referred to: the sunset one taken from space. Was fabulous.

Koran Kaagaz is another one of my favorites. 😊 Seriously, some many lovely songs to imagine SwaSan in. The golden oldies of course are incomparable classics, and even some recent ones by Arijit are excellent.
