Chapter 21:-
Next morning, Lakshya wakes up first and sees Ragini sleeping next to him covered with a bed sheet. He looks at her angelic face for a few seconds and then gets up from the bed. He wears his pajama, takes out a cigarette from his pocket, lights it and goes to smoke near the window. He keeps on looking outside of the window thinking about the moments of the previous night when suddenly Ragini comes and hugs him from behind. Lakshya doesn't react. He continues smoking.
Ragini- Lakshya, I'm so happy you finally accepted me as your wife. Thank you so much, Lakshya. You don't have the slightest of idea how bad I had been waiting for this day since ages.
Lakshya doesn't react. He simply continues smoking.
Ragini- Lakshya, are you listening?
Lakshya throws his cigarette, gently removes Ragini's arms from his waist and turns around to face her.
Lakshya- Ragini, I'm sorry for whatever happened. I didn't plan it. It just happened. It wasn't planned at all. You were drunk. I don't know what had gone wrong with me. I...I ended up... I'm sorry, Ragini. I didn't want to do this. I cannot accept you as my wife, Ragini. You'll always be my closest girl, but wife? I'm sorry. I don't think you can take that special place in my heart.
Saying this, Lakshya bends down his head. A tear drop falls from Ragini's eyes. She immediately wipes it and smiles.
Ragini- No Lakshya, I should be sorry for expecting that I can be your wife. I am sorry. I should've known that I'm not good enough for you. I should've known that Lucky can never love Guddi. I misunderstood your actions last night. I am sorry. And today we're going back to India. I have a surprise for you then.
Lakshya- What surprise?
Ragini- You'll come to know very soon.
With this, Ragini goes to the washroom and cries a lot. After a few minutes, they both get ready and board their flight back to India. There was an extreme silence in between them. None had the guts to face one another. After reaching the airport in Kolkata, they come home in one of Lakshya's car. Ragini touches the feet of all elders and then goes to her room to freshen up. Lakshya also follows her. After coming out of the washroom, she takes out Lakshya's clothes and gives them to him.
Ragini- Lakshya, take these and go get fresh. And learn to handle yourself. You cannot rely on me forever.
Lakshya- Why? Are you going somewhere?
Ragini- No but one or the other day, I'll go to my mother's house to meet her. Who will do your work then?
Lakshya- We'll do something then. Accha I'll just be back.
Ragini- Okay.
Lakshya goes to the washroom and comes back after about 15 minutes. He goes downstairs and sits with all the other people.
Nano- Lucky beta, how was your trip? Did you enjoy?
Lakshya- Yes Nano, a lot in fact. Ragini and I, we had a hell lot of fun, right Ragini?
All of them search for Ragini but she was nowhere to be seen.
PRM- Where's Ragini?
Lakshya- I don't know, dad. She didn't tell me anything.
Nano- Don't worry, she must be here somewhere. Ragini! Ragini beta? Beta, where are you?
Nobody responds. Lakshya was now a little worried. He searches all around the house but doesn't find Ragini anywhere. Finally, he goes to his room to check if she was there and finds a note attached to the mirror of the dressing table.

"Lakshya, I told you I had a surprise for you. This is the surprise. I'm giving you all your freedom back. I'm giving you your life back. I'm giving you back everything that I had snatched away from you. Check the drawer. You'll understand what I'm taking about. You must be really happy now. I hope you stay happy like this forever. I hope nobody snatches away your happiness. Don't try to find me. Wherever I am, I'll be safe. Yours and only yours,
Guddi"
Lakshya goes crazy on reading the note. He opens the drawer and finds a divorce paper already signed by Ragini. Seeing this, unknowingly, a tear drop falls from his eyes. He had never in his wildest nightmares imagined that Ragini could leave him like this and that her leaving him would give him such pain. He looks at his phone and finds a picture of them together. He hugs his phone and shouts with the top most strength he had.
Lakshya- Raginiii!
The elders come and try to console him but he asks them all to leave so they do prefer to leave him alone.
Lakshya (To himself)- What do you think of yourself? When I didn't want you in my life, you forcibly came and irritated me. Now that I want you for real, you left me without even saying goodbye. Why did you do this, Ragini? Why did you? You have become an addiction to me. A habit. A habit that I cannot get rid of. Who will take care of me now? Who Ragini? Who?
Lakshya starts crying and after crying for hours, he goes to sleep with their picture near his heart.
*AFTER 6 YEARS*
Lakshya is now a changed man. He doesn't care about anything or anyone. But now he had understood that he had always loved Ragini. He knew now that he had loved her more than anything else but he understood it very late, after she had gone. He had now set Ragini's picture as his phone wallpaper. He had Ragini's picture in his wallet. Even in his room, there were Ragini's pictures everywhere. He had now become a hardworking and sincere man. He was in his office when suddenly, Sanskaar calls him.
Sanskaar (over phone)- Hey Lucky, how're you man?
Lakshya- I'm good, Sanky. What about you?
Sanskaar (over phone)- Same here, bro. Accha listen, pick me up from the airport in ten, okay? I'm waiting.
Lakshya- What? Are you in Kolkata?
Sanskaar (over phone)- Yeah! Now come fast. I want you to meet two very special people of my life.
Lakshya- Okay, I'll be there in 10.
Lakshya goes to the airport in his car and sees Sanskaar waiting there. He goes and hugs him.
Lakshya- Sanky, I missed you man! Haven't seen you for such a long time.
Sanskaar- Yes Lucky, I missed you more.
Lakshya- Accha, you were about to introduce me to someone.
Sanskaar- Oh yes, they've gone to the washroom. They'll be back.
Lakshya's phone rings. It was a call from his office. He picks it up and turns to the other side to talk on the phone when a lady comes near them with a little girl.
Sanskaar (To the lady)- You're back? Wait, I'll introduce you to my brother.
Sanskaar (To Lakshya)- Lucky, turn around and meet your would be sister in law.
Lakshya turns around excited to see his brother's choice and as soon as he sees the girl's face, his excitement vanishes. He gets shocked. The girl was Ragini. She was shocked as well.
Sanskaar- Lucky, she's Ragini, the girl I love. And this (points towards the little girl) is my little angel, Raina.
Lakshya wasn't being able to concentrate on Sanskaar's words. He was only looking at Ragini. Sanskaar jerks him.
Sanskaar- Lucky???
Lakshya comes back to his senses.
Lakshya- Yea...Yeah, Sanky. Hi, Ragini. I'm..
I'm Lak...Lakshya, his brother.
Ragini replies in a nervous tone.
Ragini- H...hi.
Raina- Hi Lucky uncle!
Lakshya looks at Raina.
Lakshya- Sanky, who...who's she?
Sanskaar- My daughter, Raina!
Lakshya- What? When did you marry Ragini?
Sanskaar- Actually, Ragini is a divorcee. She was once married to another man with whom she had Raina. But Raina is no less than my own daughter.
Lakshya looks at Ragini with a shocked face. Ragini also looks at him for a second and then looks down. Lakshya then kneels down to Raina's level. He looks at her from top to bottom with teary eyes and cups her face.
Lakshya- Ra...Raina! You're very cute.
Lakshya hugs her tightly. Seeing this, Sanskaar feels good and Ragini gets teary eyed.
Sanskaar (to Ragini)- See Ragini, my brother loves kids. He bonds so well with Raina.
Lakshya (To Raina)- What's your full name, Raina beta?
Raina- My name is Raina Gadodia.
Lakshya looks at Ragini while she keeps looking down.
Lakshya (in mind)- So Ragini hasn't given my surname to my own daughter.
Lakshya (To Raina)- Raina, do you like chocolates?
Raina- Yes but Mumma doesn't let me eat chocolates. She says chocolates damage our teeth.
Lakshya- Mumma won't say anything. Come, let's go.
Raina (To Ragini)- Mumma, can I go with Lucky uncle to eat chocolates?
Lakshya and Raina both look at Ragini hoping for a positive answer. Ragini slightly nods her head in a yes. Raina holds Lakshya's finger and walks to the nearby store while Sanskaar and Ragini look at them from behind. Sanskaar smiles and rests his arm on Ragini's shoulder.
