Saku, this chapter was a marvel in meaningful dialogues between different sets of people.
First it was Durga Prasad and Sanskaar. Two such different men, but both are strong, determined, resolute in their own way. Both have flaws, no doubt. But one can't help but be in awe of them. In every sense, despite Sanskaar not being related by blood to Durga at all, he has imbibed several of his amazing qualities, and blended them with several more of his own. Its perhaps because he is Ram's son by nurture and love. We do both feel, na, that genetics and heredity only take people so far. Beyond that is one's conscience, one's heart and one's courage---all down more to nurture and love, than anything else...
I liked the way Sanskaar asked Durga Prasad to tell him the whole unvarnished truth, bitter and unpalatable thought it might be. The truth after all, is but a pain of an instant; lies can deceive and wound forever. Sanskaar hit the nail so brutally on the head, that Durga had identified and groomed him as his heir, perhaps thinking that Vasundara would stay her hand holding the dagger over the Maheshwaris, since Sanskaar was, after all, related to her by blood. But she had no such qualms at all, all that she cares for, is her revenge...
The next interesting conversation was between Adya Biyani and Kavita. Adya does seem to have some inner warmth after all, and knows well that his mother's obsessive fixation with vengeance isn't healthy. He knows too, that she is using him as her knight. He has let her do so, because he feels her reason for the battle is just, the enemy deserves what they got. What will happen, I wonder, when he gets to know that there is wrong on his mother's side too, immense wrong at that?
And the very next fascinating conversation 😛 was between Kavita and Swara. Swara, calm and confident in the flowering of Sanskaar's and her love---I L.O.V.E.D her retort to Kavita about where else would she be, this was her husband's home! I liked the way Sanskaar and she had cooked up this plan whereby she came to Maheshwari House sans her mangalsutra and sindhoor, so even Annapurna feels she has come back upon the request she made Sanskaar some time back. For Swara to act out a charade as fiancee for the "amnesia ridden", poor bachchu, laadla Lakshya. 🤢
Nice touch there about the memories of a past voice, saying the same vengeful, hate filled words about how Swara supposedly only valued crowns and thrones, and how Kavita says she would never let Swara gain a love which she didn't get. Chilling!
And the conversation which I enjoyed the most 😛: between laadla Lakshya and Swara. Poor dude, when he talks for more than 5 minutes at a stretch, he can't muster the intellectual depth to keep his act together. 😉 I was grinning into my lappie screen, when he mentioned how Durga Prasad still trusted Sanskaar, relied on him more than Lakshya, despite knowing he was related to Vasundara by blood. Poor bachchu didn't realize, that in memories of a crisp fall he is supposed to have halted at, Sanskaar was very much the son of Ram Prasad and Sujata. Not of Chandraraj and Yashodara!
Saku...🤗 🤗 I know this is down to our mutual mistrust of this dude, but I have been sure from the time of the accident, that the toad remembered everything very well indeed. 😛
And the last conversation, again fascinating and oddly prescient---between Yashodara and Vasundara. Two fascinating ladies, only Yasho walks in the light, her goodness and wisdom, coupled with her mercurial, frank nature, making her almost too brilliant to behold. And Vasundara, forbidding, scheming, quiet, but with an iron will.
So from the way Durga Prasad was behaving earlier, it seems apparent that though he was engaged to Annapurna, he was in love with Vasundara, and had probably made promises of marriage to her---ones which he would ultimately break.
And Aditya Biyani (Yasho and Annapurna's brother), was in love with Vasundara, and genuinely cared about her. It seems like a softer, milder version of the all consuming, unselfish love which Ram felt for Yasho, which Sanskaar and Swara felt for each other. Fascinating! Yasho's words had such wisdom, such foresight in them. Her brother really was too good for Vasundara; and Vasu was more in love with the status and crown that Durga had, than with the lad himself. The crippling blow that she predicted Vasu would have to bear, must have come soon enough, the nuptials of Durga Prasad with Annapurna. The only thing is, I fear it didn't knock any sense into Vasundara. Just propelled her into an obsessive plan for revenge against the Maheshwaris and the Biyanis.
This work has all the feel of a saga, Saku. Three intertwined families, with their decisions, friendships, loves and choices pulling at the strings of their common destinies. All leading, years into the future into this Great Battle.
Can't wait for Chapter 10, dear. I would have loved it if you had kept 18 chapters for this work, in keeping with our intense love for the Great Epic, the Mahabharata. 😊

Sakura,
I was eagerly waiting for an update and I have devoured this one as fast as I could. That was an enthralling chapter. So many things came to light.
So I loved the first para of how Vasundara couldn't enjoy her victory due to the reactions of the Maheshwaris. Really well done there. San-DP convo was also enlightening. I really liked how everything is finally on the table for these two.
Coming to Adya-Kavita convo, its fantastic to see that Adya has his own conscience. He knows his mother uses people around her, including himself. I like this character, even though he is on the other side of the battle, for that one statement he made in response to Kavita's 'Love is Destructive'. I also really liked how you gave that small comparison between Kavita and Ragini during Swa-Kav confrontation. Kavita's obsession is creeping out and Vasundara is taking full advantage of that.
Swa-Lak convo was checkmate indeed! Poor guy, didn't even realize he slipped. This 'Slipped mask' part was a real treat to read! 😊
Highlight of this update was how SwaSan communicated while playing chess. Uttara really is a hardcore SwaSan shipper - in the show and here as well. Enjoyed this part immensely! 👏 Hats off!
Flashback - I am guessing here that Vasundara was in love with DP while he was engaged to AP and he made promises which he broke? Aditya and Yashodara Biyani tried to warn Vasundara but failed? That is what I am picking up atleast.
Please update soon.

Thanks for the double treat Saku and also for the pm!
Two awesome huge chapters and a lot becoming clear sply as to the motivation behind vasundhara's actions...tho tht last part was a total shocker!! She was involved with Durga prasad bfr their respective marriages?? Considering her calculative nature it seems at least there was no love on her side but was dp deeply involved?? Why else would yashodhara caution vasundhara to back away if not to secure her sister's matrimony ... Is tht also why Aditya biyani marry vasundhara just to assure tht vasu doesn't hamper the relationship of dp and ap??? But tht would hv been difficult to achieve without dp completely backing off first... So that's also her main point of revenge against the Maheshwaris
The chess game scene was a cute light one amid the heavy parts tho of course with the undertones tht only Swara and sanskaar could understand...
For me what remains a mystery is Kavita and her background...it can't be so simple tht she is out to win sanskaar back since till now it's not even sure how she landed in the hospital and why she was there for 5 long years...
Has laksh really lost his memory or is he a part of vasundhara's plan too?? Another mystery!
I love it tht u answer many questions in ur updates but give rise to more at the end of them!! Do update soon!!
