Hi everyone! 😊

I'm new to this show and forum. Got fascinated by Ragini's character in the pocha and paani maar episode. 😆 I think she is a really interesting character who if explored properly, can be one of TV's most iconic characters. However, we all know Rashmi Sharma rarely delivers, so I thought I should do an OS exploring Ragini's mind and thought process.

Do like and comment. Criticism is more than welcome. Would love to know what you thought.

--------------------------

Lightning streaked through the sky and a thunderclap roared across the night as a lone figure stood in the Maheshwari garden.

Adorned in finery, Ragini Lakshya Maheshwari stared in disgust at the treacherous sky above her.
Shimmering in her vermillion saree, she looked like an angel who had mistakenly been dropped below by the Gods along with the downpour.

But Ragini knew she was far from an angel. She was rather the devil who had clawed out of the ground to meet the rain.

Water dripped down Ragini's face, snaking down the partition in her hair and making it's way down the cleavage of her lips. Though the rain was as cold as ice,
Ragini's body felt like it was on fire.

She welcomed the coldness of the water on her heated and feverish skin.

Why was she burning, you might ask?

She burned in the hell fire of vengeance- the fire of hatred coursing through her veins like poison through a snake's fangs.

Ragini looked up at the sky, just as another bolt of lightning blinded the sky and illuminated her face- the face of an angel. Her eyes were pregnant with unshed tears and her face contorted in pain and anger.

Today, she was angry at the whole world. Hell, she was always angry at the world, Ragini thought bitterly.

She hated everything and loved nothing. If she loved nothing, what was this emptiness she felt inside of her?

Surely it was the space that had been carved out of her heart by Lakshya's betrayal and. She tried hard to search inside for the light that had been characteristic of Ragini Gadodia's personality, but found darkness instead.

Yes, Ragini Maheshwari was angry.
Irate.
Furious.

She was angry at Lakshya, for not loving the simple girl she had been. Angry at him for loving Swara instead, for being taken in by her feisty nature and not noticing the coy Ragini instead.

She was angry at Swara, for being able to not only garner the love of one, but two men- Lakshya and Sanskaar. She was angry that she could never be the one who had set Lakshya's heart aflutter. It had always been Swara.

She was angry at Sanskaar too. Angry that he loved Swara with all his heart- the kind of love she was never destined for. She hated him for loving Swara to the moon and back, when there was no one to love her the same.

What was it about her, Ragini thought. What was it about Swara that left so many in love?

And what was it that she lacked that had never drawn Lakshya to her instead?

She didn't understand.

Ragini felt a flash of pain in her heart, as she thought about the man she had loved.

She remembered those moments she had foolishly mistaken Lakshya's friendliness for love and felt furious at herself for falling over herself for him.

She had been so stupid. So stupid. Looking at the world through her rose-tinted glasses and believing she would find love.

If it was one thing Ragini had learned, it was that love was not for everyone. She was one of those few who was not destined for love.

Now, more people hated her than those who loved her. She smiled bitterly at that. Oh, what had she become.

Fire coursed through her veins.
The rain STILL hadn't managed to cool down the lava in her blood.
Ragini welcomed nights like these- nights where she could be alone in the rain, burning like an ember, while sheets of cold rain poured down.

It gave her the illusion that the coldness of the rain drops could somehow douse the fire inside her-the fire that started in her belly, spread quickly to her heart and sneaked it's way into her mind, 'causing her to destroy everything in sight.

It was enough for tonight, she decided. She turned to walk back but stopped when an interesting thought entered her mind.

Could she set fire to the rain?
Could she maybe dissolve into the raindrops and transfer her heat to them instead?
Could she somehow become the rain and let go of the fiery chamber her body was?
She laughed.
Hysterical peals of laughter ripped out of her, as Ragini laughed at something that no one else would find remotely funny.

She laughed her heart out, loudly and freely as she looked up at the sky once more. The rain had slowed down in those few moments. Not as fierce as it had been before.
As the last of her laughter left her body, her eyes finally shed those tears they had been holding since the rain had started.
She didn't sob or wail. She just stood there and allowed the tears to mingle with the raindrops.
She savoured the heat of her tears as they slid down her face, mingling with the coldness of the water.

Yes, she vowed to herself, one day, she would set fire to the rain.

How was it? 😳
